No question, this is a decent Italian place - everything we ordered was generally quite good.Problem is when you’re seated no one tells you that you only have 90 minutes to finish. It’s only mentioned later when you’ve overstayed your welcome at which point you’re rushed along and a host hurries you out. It’s not unusual for popular restaurants to enforce time limits during busy periods - they mention it up front so you’re able to pace dinner accordingly. Not ideal but understand why it’s necessary. Doesn’t work that way here. We were all taken aback at the host who told us to hurry up and leave despite the fact we were clearly done and would be leaving shortly. First we’d heard of any time limit. There are lots of great Italian places on the UWS. If you’re looking to have a relaxing dinner out with friends, look elsewhere. If you’re ok with racing the clock, by all means, mangia.

I tell you that I can smell this place an avenue away! When I walked on the Broadway intersection toward the Amsterdam, I spotted the luring hints of the tomato, the wheat, and fragrance of wood fired dough.Straightly came to eat pizzas, pretty nice addition to the neighborhood so I don’t have to go all the way downtown. Us four gals ordered 4 difference pizzas. The lunch specials are 15 usd per pizza, and the options include some pizza rosse and some bianche, but not any specials. They have a wood-fired stone oven, resembled the traditional pizza cooking technique in Naple. You can watch the pizzeria knead and stretch the dough and cook it in action. All pizzas are 12 inches and each are sliced into 4 pieces. That means, 4 pizzas = 16 slices spilled between us 4.For all the pizzas, the dough is light and stretchy, very airy with lots of bubbles when you open the dough. The chars on the edges are the evidence of usage of the wood-fired oven. And all pizzas came within 10 minutes of ordering! Quick and delicious!1. The Tartufata: this one is very very filling. Very umami and truffley. Lots of prosciutto and heavy on truffle cream and truffle oil. One bite brings me out of starvation and spikes my fullness from 0% to 80% (I have been fasting for 20hrs before this).2. Pizza Burrata: surprisingly light pizza. The burrata is light and somehow not so liquidy. Majority of the cheese holded the shape with a bit splurging of the stracciatella mixed with arugula. If I had this first, I think I can eat the whole pizza. But the truffle one was so filling lol.3. Melanzane E Salsicce: the pizza with sausage and fried eggplant. This one tasted most familiar to me in terms of the flavor, as the sausage being the major note player. The fried eggplant on top of the pizza doesn’t resemble eggplant but rather grounded meat, however, I definitely taste eggplant once I bite into it: mushy, eggplanty, and meaty at the same time.4. Pizza Marguerita: the only non-special one which we got at the lunch special rate. It is a classic. I didn’t have stomach for the 4th slice yet my friend who tasted it said it is light, tomatoy, and savory. The saltiness of the dough combined well with the acidity of the tomato sauce, which interplayed with the creaminess of the mozzarella. Surely a classic not to be missed if you are torn choosing between novelty flavors. We ended up having 4 slices to go, and we were very very satisfied with the quality of the food. Though eating so much carb makes me sleepy but it is Friday so who cares! And lastly, their complimentary bread and olive oil is GREAT! Quote on myself: the bread tasted like a mix between a baguette and a bagel, so much air holes with great stretchness for a chew. And the olive oil tasted amazing: definitely extra virgin olive oil.

Food was okay. The Margherita pizza was nice, I will say everything is overpriced though. Food wasn't worth the price based on amount and flavor. I got tiramisu and it had more of a pudding texture then cream it was a bit weird. The music was a bit loud too..The waitress was really nice though and everyone who worked there was polite. I probably won't go back again though I wasn't impressed with the food as I thought I was based off the reviews. If you go, get the Margherita pizza.Dietary restrictions: The waitress did inquire about our dietary restrictions before we placed our orders which was nice.

I'm shocked at the inconsistency of the quality within one meal. The first Tartufata pizza was excellent, flavorful, with a crispy crust. The second, a Margherita, was terrible: the dough was soggy and chewy, the topping was extremely wet and it was very bland. The rest of the meal was fine but a bit bland.

I almost ate at Song's LES location last summer, but the tropical humidity and al fresco seating sans AC made me instantly nope out. So when I happened on this UWS location one weeknight, it seemed fortuitous. It wasn't. These guys are a MESS. They are so poorly organized, it's a wonder anything gets served on time. The hostess was also taking phone orders when we arrived, and because they were so busy, we had to stand for about 20 min in the middle of the restaurant before she could seat us. Speaking of seating, it's clear Song is trying to squeeze every penny until it bleeds because all of the two-seater tables (which make up the entirety of the restaurant) were spaced no more than 3 inches apart in an effort to cram in as many diners as possible. The result is you're going to hear everything you never wanted to know about your adjacent diners' bad Hinge dates, terrible ultrasound experiences, obnoxious co-workers, and every other personal life detail possible. And they'll hear all of yours too. Don't bother trying to have a private conversation. It's too bad because the food is above average for NYC Italian--so good, in fact, that actual Italians (like, from the Motherland) frequent this place. Our Gnocchi Sorrentina was scrumptious, and both the Napoletana and Cotto E Funghi pizzas had some of the most perfectly baked crusts I've had in a long time. But I can't do the sardine experience. At that point, I might as well just go to Sardinia.

Always love the food here! It's my favorite place in the city! Ingredients are always fresh, the food tastes as good as it looks, the pizza has become my favorite in the city.

Love the food here. Came with a friend. Shared the calamari fritti; it was crisp and tender and not a hint of oil, with a few fried vegetable crisp and some lemon. Tried two pies: the white porcini with truffle cream was amazing; and the red eggplant parmigiana was scrumptious. As always, the crusts were charred but delicate and chewy. And the pies are never burning-palate hot, somehow just right. Service always friendly and helpful but not overbearing. A neighborhood gem, for any neighborhood.

Delicious pizza. No wonder, it was voted the second best in NY. In addition, it has a wide variety of dishes, including pasta and meat. Price within the city average. I highly recommend it. Contemporary and relaxed atmosphere.
