Had an incredible dining experience at Spicy Moon in Bowery! Every dish was a hit, especially the rice noodles which were perfectly cooked, and the chili oil dumplings that had just the right amount of kick. The shiitake and tofu buns were delightful — soft, fluffy, and generously filled. The flavors were authentic, and the presentation was beautiful, making each dish not only delicious but also visually appealing. The atmosphere was cozy, with a friendly staff that made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone craving top-notch vegetarian Szechuan cuisine!Shout out to Joanne and her team.

Had a birthday brunch here on a Sunday and it was perfect! The food was delicious and the staff were so kind when a few people were arriving late. We ordered an assortment of plates to share and had a great time in one of the comfy booths. They brought out our cake at the requested time and provided plates and cutlery. (A standard cake fee of $35 applied; they also wrapped the leftovers up for us!) Would most definitely come here again, for a large party, a cute date, or on my own for lunch. Thank you Spicy Moon!!

Started off going to the Spicy Moon at their East Village location so once we learned of their Bowery location we had to go! Definitely a much larger space than the EV location but the food quality was still great. Our must order items are the dandan noodles, crispy eggplant, and wontons in chili oil. After that, we like to try out new items we haven’t had before. You don’t miss the meat, and even if you do, they have the option to add impossible meat to some of the food (example: dandan noodles)! Going down to the bathroom also felt like a party because of the neon lights, decor, and mirrors.

Mediocre at best, definitely not up to the price, we asked for tea and orange juice and they were out of both. Food was pretty bad too.

Atmosphere was loud for me, but I'm an old lady. My younger family members loved it. The food was perfect. We ate family style so I got to try a lot of dishes & they were all wonderful. I especially liked the cumin tofu & the taro root fries. So good!

Easily in my top 5 fave restaurants in NYC! It’s sometimes hard to find good Asian vegan food that doesn’t skimp on flavors. These are the best dan dan noodles and crispy eggplant ever. Definitely get the crispy eggplant! The vibes are also great in this new location and the bathrooms are nice as well. Definitely worth visiting and going back to!Vegetarian options: Entirely veganDietary restrictions: Good for people who have nut allergies or are vegan

A chain vegan place that does pretty good, but sacrifices flavor for speed. Overall the flavors were nice, not overwhelming, oily, or too spicy. I think the general tso’s mushrooms were a bit of a disappointment, but the mapo tofu was on point, and I liked that there were heaps of delicately spaghetti cucumber on the sesame noodles. Worth a visit if you’re around one.

Delicious food in a beautiful atmosphere. Brought my meat-eating family and they all loved it as well. I am dreaming about the dry pepper tofu and cannot wait to get it again.

I love Sichuan food and had tried to go to the East Village location once without a reservation but it was too full. I tried again with the Bowery location at an off-hour and was thankful to get a seat! It's a much bigger location so that helps. However, even though it wasn't busy when we arrived, service was still quite slow. I also found the red lighting to be too dim which made it hard to see the food (very important if you are trying to avoid the searing-hot chilis; also why there are no photos). Those are the reasons I knocked off a star. With that out of the way, the food was delicious, combining authentic spicy Sichuan flavors with effective vegan modifications. We got Mapo tofu, with silky tofu and Beyond beef that lent it an interesting smoky flavor and not in a bad way. We also got the dry pot with both vegetables and tofu, filled with the complex mala flavors I expect. It came with a yummy variety of veggies including tender green beans and snappy lotus roots in addition to crispy fried tofu, but this dish is also where the sneaky hot chilis came in. Even with two tofu dishes, the textures were completely different and both great in their own ways; Spicy Moon would be a good place to convert tofu-skeptics. Textures and flavors considered, the meat was not missed at all.Prices are around $15-20 a dish which may seem a little high for meatless dishes, but the portions are big and I took home an extra meal's worth of leftovers. Overall a pretty solid Sichuan restaurant that can compete with its meaty counterparts, and absolutely unmissable for vegetarians and vegans who may feel marginalized in other restaurants.

I loved Spicy Moon! There was a small wait for a table but the staff was very attentive with letting us know when one was ready. We got the fried eggplant, veggie wontons in chili oil, kung pao tofu and the dan dan noodles. I would recommend everything! The portions are quite large/served family style.

Huge schezuan food lover and skeptical about how they’d make it in vegan fashion BUT I was pleasantly surprised. This could have been compared with some of my fav schezuan spots in the city all while serving no animals. I know it sounds crazy but whatever they are doing is absorbing all the flavor of the pepper corns and the texture of their “meat” is on par. Those chopped cheese spring rolls? I need everyone to get them.We also had the dry pepper chikn and the cumin style chikn.Flavor, price, presentation, atmosphere, everything was on point. I’m not vegan and it was worth it.

Man the server, Kunchok and Kungachime made this one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The drinks were amazing too. I think the bartenders name was Namgyal.
