Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Experience: 5/5My bf and I love Sushi on Jones and it's become one of our favorite casual omakase spots. Both managers who work there are incredibly hospitable and we really enjoy the company of the sushi chef. We continue to go back here because the experience never disappoints, the service is great, and the food is even better. There is limited seating so it's best to get a res and I would highly recommend the bar to watch the chef prepare the fish. All the fish is incredibly fresh and the chef has created an excellent menu. If you order the omakase there is nigiri that you can't find on the menu that the chef specially added. We always go for the omakase and add more if we're still hungry. We have already been here a few times on dates or with friends and will definitely be going back in the future. What we ordered:* 12 course omakaseThings to know:* make a res, late night is usually not too busy* this location is BYOB* omakase is great but they also do rolls* for the winter the seating is enclosed and "indoors"Full menu for all locations on website: sushionjones.com/menus/#…

Fun, non-traditional spot for a quick sushi meal. Brought my little guy who is a huge salmon/tuna nigiri fan for lunch and we were the only ones here when it opened. We sat outside in one of the curbside booths given the weather was decent. I enjoyed the 12 piece omakase with a few nigiri pieces on the side for the little one. True to their branding, it was a true “30 minute omakase” experience. The fish came out expeditiously and was all very good, with a few fun twists thrown in- Everything seasoning on the salmon, a Wagyu piece thrown in, etc. The menu also contains a bunch of fun “premium” options- Wagyu/toro/uni nigiri, maki, and the like. The server was beyond pleasant and helpful. Worth a stop!

We had an amazing experience at Sushi on Jones. First we were greeted by the manager, sat down and offered water or tea. Upon requesting tea they had a variety of black, green and buckwheat tea. We went with buckwheat. Then the waiter explained to us the menu and the differences between regular (12 course) and extended Omakase (20 course) with sea urchin and other sushi. Me and my fiancé went with one regular and extended Omakase. The sushi was extremely fresh and felt like it was flown from Japan. My uncle is a chef and owner of a luxurious sushi restaurant in Moscow and the only sushi that I tasted that was as fresh as there was at Sushi on Jones. Yes I had Sugarfish and plenty of other restaurants in NYC, LA and Boston. This is next level and only a true sushi enthusiast would understand. The staff was very friendly. We were attended for frequently by the waiter and the manager to check on our experience and refill our buckwheat tea.The manager was very kind and offered us Kaluga Caviar as a replacement in our 20 course menu which was incredible and a dream come true. Will definitely come back and bring all our friends and family.

My fiancé and I were excited to try this place. We saw that their omakase was $58 so we were sold! We made a resy for our first day landing in the city. When we arrived it was empty, no one at the bar area and pretty empty dining room. We sat down and ordered. We wanted to get the 12 course because we wanted to leave room for a post sushi meal. The fish was fresh, don't get me wrong. However, their was no WOW factor of how these fish were prepared. The fish didn't have much flavor. Either we had this place overhyped or it was just not impressive.

Best little hole in the wall traditional Japanese Omakase experience ever! I the sushi was fresh and melted in your mouth and the chef served every course at a great pace. We arrived on a Friday night to our 8:30pm reservation and it seemed like someone was already seated using our name. The wait staff realized the mishap and quickly amended the situation. They cleared the area so my friend and I can have an amazing experience while watching our nigiri be prepared. We were the last seating and they gave us complimentary miso soup and for $68 omakase I cannot complain!! $68 for 12 piece omakase. Can't get any better than this in the city.

I loved this place! I haven't been to many omakase places in NY but out of the ones I've been to, hands down the best. We reserved a table at the sushi omakase bar. They have a time limit of 45 min I believe and they serve you very quickly for the 12 course so we finished in about 30-35 min. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Jenn and Alvin were amazing. We will definitely be back when in town!

This was such a great omakase experience! The sushi was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant was a perfect balance of lively yet not too loud. But what truly made the experience the best was the service. The staff is kind and attentive, always prompt, efficient and pleasant. Our server Felix made our evening wonderful especially with her expert knowledge of the menu and recommendations. I will be recommending Sushi on Jones to friends!

After many years, I finally went to the "OG" nyc spot for affordable omakase! But, to my dismay I was disappointed with the experience. When I first heard of Sushi on Jones, it was around $50 for omakase. I checked the website before I left and saw it was $58 (I get it! The pandemic, inflation, etc) and was fine with paying the $58. When I get there in person, it was $68. Regardless, since we made the reservation we decided to try it out anyways. We were seated at an outside table (not the counter) and got the 12 piece omakase. The fish was just ok - for some reason the quality of fish did not live up to our standards. There are definitely better options out there especially at this price point.

Beautiful Omakase, really enjoyed. But felt bit pricy for the amount of sushi served in the course.

Roadside kiosk - quality sushi for a song. Grab some sake at Astors nearby and have a sushi meal on the go with none of the fuss and little of the expense of the temples.

We had a great time here! The fish is super fresh and was a great deal for omakase! The chef and waiter were both super friendly and made our visit memorable. We had the 12 piece omakase and everything was delicious. The eel and wagyu were standouts. I will definitely be coming here again and would recommend to anyone looking for delicious, affordable Omakase.

Generous size of fish for each nigiri. Our experience was a bit rushed but they made sure we still had a great time!

Great quality and service. Everyone there was incredibly nice, friendly and knowledgeable which contributed to one of the nicest dining experiences I’ve had in a while. The food itself was fantastic.

For the money there is better sushi elsewhere in the city. We paid $114 for two people and neither of us went nuts. The cost per piece will range from $5-$22 (just for one piece). I am used to high priced sushi but $22 for a PIECE of Uni is a little overboard. That said the fluke was $5, hamachi $7 and salmon $10. In terms of quality the fish, no argument the fish is good, and fresh. Though the O-Toro I got was not a great cut, the fatty part had gristle I couldn’t chew (like silver skin). Also the ponzu is VERY heavily flavored by Shiso, which overpowers what should be a more delicate flavor (IMHO).The staff are lovely, location is great. Shed seating is not great, the bench is too shallow so the bench starts to cut of your circulation after .15, sitting at the cute sushi counter (window) is the omakase only ($68 or $100+) frankly the better value, but not sure what fish you get.
