We had a 5:30 reservation for a 7:30 opera. The service was impeccable, fast but not rushed. The food was excellent and the noise level perfect. We could have a conversation without having to scream at each other. It was a very pleasant experience.

Great service from arrival to end of meal. Opening night for El Niño, so they were closed for interval dessert due to the gala - even with this, we didn't feel at all rushed. Food is very solid rather than outstanding - the ambience is worth every cent though. Got to be done at least once on a Met visit.

If you're attending the opera, you really should do this at least once. It's pricey, but worth it. Excellent food and service. Lovely setting. AND they will have your dessert course waiting for you at your table at intermission!

We were looking forward to lunch before the opera yesterday, but the experience at Grand Tier was very disappointing. The service was slow and the food was mixed. Eggs Benedict and the salmon were good. However, my Cioppini was the worst I've ever had. The fish was inedible because of its thick skin, the scallops were barely lukewarm, the broth was bland, and I had to ask for a spoon twice (you would think a spoon would come with soup...). Next time we'll go to a restaurant across the street and not spend a fortune ($56 for the dismal Cioppini) before we enjoy the opera.

This is such a lovely place, and the setting is beautiful and unmatched, but the last two time I have eaten here, the food has been quite disappointing for a meal that cost $300 for 2 people. I ordered the vegetables en croute, which was very dry and was primarily composed of very large chuncks of squash. It was not particularly tasteful for an entrée of that price. and I ended up eating less than half. I have to say that the quality of the cuisine has really deteriorated. I have had some lovely meals heare. But the last two were not great.

Food has really gone off the rails. Cioppinio weak, chicken too complicated, spinach with filet had more garlic than Italian restaurant, great veal chop slathered with unnecessary orange sauce. KISS.

Riccardo our sever was amazing!!! He really made our experience wonderful. The food was sooo good. Saving dessert for intermission was necessary because I was struggling to finish my 2nd course. Definitely recommend the wine pairing with the 3 course meal. An experience everyone she be able to have.

Absolutely wonderful as always. My mother and I were attending Turandot and I called a few days prior to ask if it would be possible to have a table with less walking as my mother is 90. The maitre'd assured me he would make sure all was taken care of to accommodate her. We arrived and had the best table right past the entrance, looking out onto the plaza. She didn't feel rushed to get back to our seats and the evening was magical. Thank you. ❤️

This was our first time visiting the Met so we wanted to make a whole experience by eating here. Very beautiful atmosphere and located right on the same tier as our seats. Food was excellent with good sized portions. Pre fix theater menu was extensive. Our host suggested coming back at intermission for our dessert which was a good suggestion. Would certainly come back.

This venue is dreamlike. The service and the food are exceptional. The only complaint that I had was that, despite a prior request, there was no Pisco brandy for a special cocktail. James and Todd were phenomenal, as usual. The ambience that was created in this restaurant made it a very enjoyable evening for me.

This is consistently been our favorite place to have dinner before opera performance. The food has only gotten better over the years and last night did not disappoint. The service was excellent and we enjoyed our evening very much.

Such a great experience doing intermission dining during the Opera! Even with the tight timeframe, the service and food were outstanding. Special shout-out to Jerry who was the MVP of the evening.I’m already looking to book another Opera just to re-do this experience, and that’s saying something ?

Exquisite service (Patrick our waiter was SUPERB). Cuisine magnificent. Best way to enjoy opera: dinner before curtain call and dessert during intermission. Bison Carpaccio was unbelievable. Wine pairing highly suggested. Smoked salmon A1. Beef tenderloin delicious. Friendly and attentive staff. Ambiance thumbs up.

As usual the service was excellent as well as the ambience. Disappointed in the octopus being tough and chewy once again. Veal chop was not that tasty and a bit heavy to eat before an opera. Beef fillet was very good. Desserts could be a little lighter.
