Didn't take long to realize they aren't a place I put my hard money towards establishment that I waited patiently for service and no one attended me even to sit down for the restaurant. In fact, the server took a couple that came in after me very sad in 2024. We're still dealing with people that think in a small-minded manner and not just one person but the full establishment. There's plenty of taverns well known and highly respected even dive bars for example. Rudy's is supposed to be a dive, but it's even more than that is a landmark as well and it's respectable and treats everyone equally and more reasonable money is money and may have a color but apparently that's all they see??‍♀️

We moved into the neighborhood recently and decided to checkout the spot since we had heard about its legacy. We were in hoodies so we requested a spot at the bar. They didn’t have any of those available and offered us a table. The server was nice enough until he asked where we came from and we said a few blocks out, he looked at us like we were making it up. We definitely don’t look like their regular clientele, but I can safely say we’ve had better service at other restaurants in the area. The food was also bland unfortunately. One of the other servers recommended we try some of their mustard and his recommendation saved the meal tbh. The food was not just under seasoned, it was also not the best quality. If I had to guess I would say the steamed vegetables that came with my dish probably came out of the freezer. The best thing about the place is the history. I don’t see any other reason to go.

We happened upon this delightful spot after touring the Intrepid. We were hungry for good food and were not disappointed. I had a Franziskaner draft and a cheeseburger, while cooked to well, when I asked for medium, it was well seasoned and had a good flavor on a nice hard roll. My wife had the grilled chicken wrap, I ate 1/2 of it and really liked it. It was a nice balance of pesto and mozzarella to chicken. The side salad wase nicely dressed. This was a seriously nice find, it was charming to walk into one of the oldest continually run bars in NYC and find great draft beer and food at an affordable for NYC price. The service was outstanding as well.

Quite bland food, ceaser dressing did not taste right as well. Service is quite average, but it has a good atmosphere at least.

We found this place by chance, looking for a place to have dinner. This is the second oldest restaurant operating in NY, so it looks like a real tavern (If I found pirates and sailors there, I won´t be surprised). We were quickly accommodated by the staff; the host was friendly. Service was quick and food came out quickly. Excellent selection of beers, and some good wines too. We very much enjoyed the atmosphere, there was live Irish music (one of the guys there showed us the name of the instruments. We had a particularly good time here and look forward to coming back

Highly disappointed with the scotch egg for 15 dollars served on a bed of rabbit greens. Four drinks and two scotch eggs, 90 bucks with tip. The scotch egg tasted like a gas station egg wrapped in panko. Absolute yuck. Worst place in NYC on this trip. F-.

I love how homey of a feel this place is. Everyone seemed to be feeling comfortable and like they knew the staff. People were sitting at the bar chitchatting and all this was at 4:45 p.m. on a Friday. We had scouted a place mostly for the fish and chips near a mid town location. So we got fish and chips and shepherd'd pie at that table. Fish and chips was great (hot, crisp fish, enough portion), though I think it was catfish which I don't really like. And fries weren't that crisp. The shepherd's pie to me was tasty but I was with some folks who were more familiar with the dish and said it had too much spice compared the how the English do it :) We also got a cheesecake slice which our friendly server recommended was a good choice and so it was. I am not going to say the food was the best, but as far as a reliable Irish Pub that works for some food cravings, this might be on my 'to visit again' list.
