“Best hibachi place in all TOWN ! Will recommend to everyone I know, staff members are always polite, a big thank you to Anthony for being our server tonight. Very attentive and friendly ! Will be coming back soon. The place very clean and well organized.“
“Let me start by saying I walked in at 4:45pm in very very casual attire. Sweats and hoodie. I apologized for that, but we were only people there. We were brought into back part of restaurant. Many empty tables, and us. Lol. I ordered a Espresso Martini made perfectly. Half dz oysters that were fresh, and grilled octopus with selected greens. Cooked perfectly, and I cleaned my plate like you should when quality of food is delightful. Our waiter(Jasson)was on point, didn't overwhelm us, and came asking how we were doing when needed. Friendly also which was nice. All in all a very nice experience, but next time I'll dress for the way a place like Ristegios deserves. :))“
“At least thirty years of learning about the mysteries of sushi - from how luxurious and expensive and new it was in New York City in the eighties and slowly seeing it become more accessible and its ranges from upscale restaurants to relaxed lunch specials. From uptown Manhattan fusion kinds to the most basic California roll of the gas station. Sushi lovers like myself know that it's an easy fix on any day and it's always satisfying, and it's always fun to travel near and far to find the best. What I DID NOT SEE COMING was that the BEST SUSHI I would have to date would be on Horseblock Rd. in Farmingville of all places that I've had it. Sam's. Holy cow. It's not only the sushi. It's the soup. The ease and warmth of their welcome. The price. The fresh fruit with the check. WHAT A GEM. I tell all my stuffy NYC foodie friends about this inconspicuous place and its location because they deserve the slap in the face. Sam's. Keep doing whatever you're doing!“
“Stopped by for an early dinner. The food is outstanding - the sushi is fresh and at a very reasonable price. I moved out east and miss good, quality sushi. I almost had a tear in my eye when I bit into the first piece, it was that good. The folks that work there are professional and friendly. Worth the hour drive, will gladly do it again soon.“
“Went here for my partners birthday dinner: insanely delicious food!!!! Had the Szechuan Tomahawk Short Rib (pictured below) and the a shrimp dish. The Szechuan Tomahawk Short Rib was out of this world!! The shrimp dish was okay. The spicy edamame was to die for!!!“
“I was in the area and needed to kill time. I've been on a sushi kick lately, so this is where I found myself. I started with the fire ball. It had a layer of salmon, crab, avocado and eel, and then topped with sauce. It was very flavorful and fresh. For my sushi rolls I had a spicy salmon roll and a spicy tuna roll. Spice was on point. Everything was very fresh and delicious. It is small inside, but they do have some tables. Service was excellent. My water was never empty as it was constantly refilled. I also requested no "crunch" in my sushi rolls. I was then informed the fire hall had crunch. They easily accommodated me and didn't put "crunch" in anything. I'd definitely be back!“
“Kira Sushi is a gem! The yellowtail jalapeño is an absolute must-try, bursting with flavor and freshness. And what's a visit to Kira without indulging in a sake bomb? It's practically a rite of passage! With impeccable service and an inviting ambiance, Kira Sushi earns a well-deserved recommendation. A culinary experience not to be missed!“
“It's a nice family owned place. It is the go-to lunch Japanese place for everyone in my department.Dietary restrictions: They accommodated my dietary restrictions. I would recommend being knowledgeable about your restrictions because they are knowledgeable about what they serve.“
“My favorite poke bowl place! Have been / ordered in Uber eats easily over 10 times and have had the most delicious poke bowl EVERY time and they get the orders perfect always. Not to mention when I do go there the staff is so wonderful. A must go!!!“
“A great sushi place with lots of great options. The service is excellent and the complimentary pieces were so good we ordered a whole plate extra. It was a shrimp covered crab meat with smattering of onions on top. Prices are great and this is definitely a hidden gem.“
“Came here on a casual night drive and by dinner time we didn't know where to stop to eat. We were driving on the 27A and looking for places for dinner and we came across this place with very good ratings. Food is very good and well made. The Miso soup was not overly salted as some other Japanese places I've been. The décor is very typical of Japanese as it has these semi private booths which I have never seen before in any Japanese restaurants. Really liked this place and service was attentive. Even though it's a bit far from where I live I will def stop by when I am near this establishment.“
“The all you can eat sushi experience! You get 3 rounds and each round you mark your preference down on that checkbox piece of paper and they bring it to your table. Drinks are extra and they have a few bottled beer selections. Go for one round of 10 sashimi and ask the server to name them when it comes to your table. Remember the ones you like and order more in the following rounds. Go easy on the drinks I'd say coz you won't get to that 3rd round after a couple of sodas or beers ?“
“I had a coworker tell me that he loves this place and finally got to try their food and I was impressed! Love the atmosphere and the statue that's covered in dollars was a nice touch. We tried a little of everything: an appetizer, a roll, sushi, and a hot dish (pictures included). Everything was thoroughly enjoyed and it surpassed expectations. The rice was really good, the sashimi melted in my mouth and the shrimp tempura roll was delicious! Honestly words cannot describe how impressed I was and I would love to go again to try some different appetizers and hot dishes! (Sushi/Sashimi Dinner for One, Shrimp Lo-mein, Shrimp Nagimaki was what we ordered)“
“We have had a couple of our regular haunts for sushi, and had a menu from the mail from Mizu, so we ordered to-go. The selection was better than many of the surrounding sushi joints in nearby towns, and it the rolls were better overall. Prices were a bit less, but it also helps that they give a 10% discount for online ordering. And, online they also gave a free appetizer if you were over $50. The garlic roll was interesting, and unique, and the menu has a decent number of non-tempura (fried) cooked rolls which is a nice change also. Inside the restaurant there was only a couple of tables, so they probably do most business to-go.“
“An undefeatable classic, the Chicken Teriyaki is food of the Gods and is hard to beat. Try as you may to replicate it at home, it won't taste as good as it does here at Little Tokyo, formerly known as Sarku Japan. This even beats out other malls with similar stores. The beef teriyaki is not as good, but interesting for a change. There can be a bit of a language barrier if you're asking for something odd or in the wrong fashion (I still recall years ago having a manager legit confused and annoyed with me that I referred to "beef" as "steak") But once you know how to order, it's a smooth, systemic process. The new young lady there over the past few years has been pretty solid with the ordering process as well. The secret is asking for that extra dollop of sauce at the end. Little Tokyo - Ichiban!“
“My boyfriend and I ordered take-out from here. I had the kani salad and the mimosa roll. I requested the kani salad be made spicy, and spicy it was. Definitely on point with the spice. I also had the mimosa roll. It was good and fresh. It came with a small side of mango sauce. I'm happy the sauce was on the side and not all over the roll. My boyfriend had steak hibachi rice. He said it was really good. We would order from here again.“
“After reading the reviews, I was a bit surprised at the negativity. The AYCE is truly AYCE and the food arrives promptly. The staff are very friendly and check on you frequently. For the price, the selection is very good and the sushi is fresh. Furthermore, they don't overload you on rice like some AYCE sushi places do. Obviously it is not going to be Michelin or quality, but every dish was beyond palatable and you definitely get your moneys worth! I would say the AYCE is a must try in the SB area.“
“Awesome place.(6 years ago)Update: this place has fallen so far! We sat down and they actually had plastic forks out on the napkins and gave a slight attitude when I asked for actual silverware. Sorry if you're going to pay almost $200 at 3pm I'm not eating with a plastic fork. We had hibachi and they specifically went around and asked how everyone wanted their steak. And then they cooked everything the same way and served everyone from that batch. Shrimp overcooked. Given AFTER the steak and chicken. Filet mignon overcooked. As for the show...apparently we got the rookie. The volcano failed. He tried twirling around the spatula and fork only to drop them over and over again. I did eat everything on my plate because I hadn't eaten in 24 hours...hard to complain when you eat everything. Nothing tasted right. But the attitudes of the staff were fresh. That's about it. If you're wondering what you pay for it is the decor. This place is beautiful inside. Go in and have a drink and skip the food. It's awful. And insulting for a bill over $200. Never never never again.“
“I grew up going there. I always liked it. I would get the chicken and broccoli with white sauce, white rice. I would get wonton soup and shrimp roll. It's been there over 30 years. I don't know if it's new owners, have not ate there in awhile. I think it's been a few years. I have to back and try again. It's a take place, but they have a few tables. I called I wanted delivery which they don't do. I understand the roads are crazy, safety, they are busy cooking. They have I think GrubHub but I don't have any if those delivery apps. Anyway delivery can get expensive fuel charge, etc. Some places don't charge delivery fees, but your still tipping. Anyway they have good lunch specials. If they have cheese wontons I would try. I would hope they would be bid and filled with alot of cheese. Enjoy.“
“I came here for dinner with a friend. We opted to sit at the bar. Our bartender was great. I had a kani salad to start. I asked for it to be spicy. It didn't come out that way, but it was still good. There was also a lot of "crunch." Menu didn't specify crunch. I would absolutely order it again without the crunch. For my entree I had the monster roll. It was yummy and fresh! Great food and great service. I will absolutely return!“
