Apparently there's a 2 hr gap between brunch and dinner. The booking site allowed for a 4pm reservation. When we arrived we were accommodated but looked at funny. We found out that brunch had ended at 3pm. I was really hoping for the full experience I seen here and paid alot and didn't get it.”

“I'll try to keep this to the point —

I gave Food/Service/Atmosphere 5 🌟 because they were on par for me. For a local spot, this really took me by surprise.

What I ordered:

Miso Soup:
Standard Miso Soup, nothing groundbreaking, but very tasty. Would have loved a tad more tofu & scallion, but that's just me.

Salmon Avocado Hand roll:
Not the hand roll I expected meaning it wasn't in the cone shape I'm familiar with, but it came presented like a taco with the seaweed as the shell. Salmon cuts were huge, and with great colour, avocado was bright & ripe, coupled with the perfect amount of rice. Everything tasted clean, and fresh.

Yellowtail Jalapeno Nigiri:
I messed up with this, originally I wanted a sushi roll, but my brain flubbed. Great mistake though, because the yellowtail was delicious, practically melted in my mouth, topped with a delicate cut of jalapeno on top.

Love Milk Tea:
Honestly, just a really delicious milk tea topped with osmanthus flower. It was light, refreshing, and not too sweet thankfully.

Wagyu Tataki:
Tataki is meant to be briefly seared on the outside, but the center remains raw. Was this seared to the degree I wanted? No. But, was it delicious? Yes. And the meat was incredibly tender, flavour of the sauces really complimented everything on the plate.

I finished off with a matcha cheesecake to go, I'm sure it'll be good.

With tip, I spent $67

Again, for a local spot in Richmond Hill/Kew Gardens, I was thoroughly impressed and satisfied. Personally, with slight adjustments, these folks would do great in midtown. I spent a little under what I would spend at a restaurant in the city, and got an incredibly satisfying meal, and left full.”

“Open 24/7 and the food isn't bad for you. They have noodles and fried rice and cold appetizers. I love going there when everywhere else is closed or I am unsure if they're open. This place whether in flavor, price or time never fails me. I love ordering their spicy noodles. Their fried rice is alright but my favorite is the noodles still. My favorite app is the one with fish, its cold and savory and appetizing. Never crowded. Never wait in line before. Sometimes it's short staffed. They speak English enough for you to order and speak back to about your order. Never too hot or too cold in there. Sometimes it could be a little noisy in there but the booths help. I've only gone at night though. Can't say for how it is when the sun is still out. The staff are the sam every night I've gone.”

Our usual waitress Violetta is attentive, friendly, and wonderful. We live a block away and they are good neighbors and a wonderful addition to the community. Only drawback when visiting is that parking can be a challenge.”

“Rippers is located in a concession area in rockaway beach so it is a fun, Open atmosphere consist of picnic tables outside under a covered area. I find that the food is very good. Burgers chicken fries. I can just have fries .. I think that they are excellent. They used to sale a whole fish that was divine. There are drinks , wine beer. They often play music and have live entertainment.. they typically close in late summer for winter.”

“A few years ago, I was hired to write a series of articles about regional Italian cuisine. Since then, I have been looking for traditional Italian gelato. Until yesterday, I have been consistently disappointed. But this? It was absolutely EVERYTHING I had dreamed about. The prices weren't ridiculous, the bathroom was PRISTINE, the staff were helpful and friendly and it was incredibly, amazingly delicious. What surprised me the most, however, was what I can only describe as refined comfort. I found myself thoroughly enjoying both the comforting food and ambience throughout the evening. Each course was excellent, and Chef Hooni Kim's passion is clear (both in his food and in his explanations). He appeared happy to answer any questions regarding the food or Korean fermentation. This kind of experience, even in somewhere as diverse as NYC, is rare and special.

“I wanted to LOVE LOVE and be super hype about my first time purchasing a cake from here but unfortunately it wasn't what I thought it was but I still give it a 4 stars because maybe it was my fault for misreading the description. I ordered the Red rosette cake apparently only sides were buttercream frosting but I assumed all of the icing would be buttercream . In our opinion ( and my fiances opinion, I bought it for his birthday) we found the red icing to be extremely bitter, no butter cream flavor whatsoever and the white part wasn't very sweet at all. We just didn't find the icing tasty at all but the inside was moist and the dulce de lece was a nice light flavor. I would say make sure you know for sure what you are ordering and ask to clarify to be sure . Other then that the cake was beautiful. I think the customer service could be more friendly but I understand business can make one be assertive at times. I also found it strange they didn't have a box big enough for the cake to properly cover it and we had to place it in the car open . Not used to that but hey, like I said beautiful cakes and clarify what you want to make sure they are on the same page with you with your expectations”

The Mixed Kebab platter, Kofta Burger with fries, Falafel Sandwich with extra tahini sauce, and El Toum Appetizer were refreshingly homemade, tasted delicious, and proved outstanding bangs for the buck. More than enough food for a family of four with leftovers. This is a very welcome addition to a neighborhood missing this kind of fare. I highly recommend supporting this local business. The egg has a creamy yoke, and I really like how they charred the chasu to enhance the flavour. I've been to so many other restaurants that don't do this and the char just adds a nice touch. The food came out really quick too and the service was really speedy. As soon as I started eating they took away our trash and wrappers and while we were eating they topped up our water when it was half empty. The restaurant is well designed too and fits the vibe of the food they serve.”

“I had a wonderful experience at this Indian restaurant! The atmosphere is warm and friendly, making it a perfect spot for gatherings. When the staff learned that we were celebrating a birthday luncheon, they kindly paused the music during our cake cutting and even played the "Happy Birthday" song on the big screen. Such a thoughtful touch! The veg platter/thali was delicious, and I highly recommend trying the masala chai as it's a must! Overall, I give this place a well deserved 5 stars!”

I was very impressed with all the food prepared and served at the wedding venue in New Jersey, tropical isle went above and beyond to take the stress away from us and give us the time to celebrate our wedding with our guests. “We were stuck in traffic, and I changed my reservation from 5:15 to the next available at 6:15. I knew we would be cutting it close for our 7:30 show time, but I knew we would never make 5:15. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:45, and I asked if we could be seated early. We were told no. OK, went to the bar for a drink. At 6:10, I went back, and we were brought to a table. My husband commented that he had noticed that table, and that it had been empty the entire time we were at the bar. We wound up having to rush through our meal and skip dessert (we had ordered the price fixe menu). I know that busy restaurants have to have policies in place, but we really would've appreciated the courtesy since there clearly was an available table.”

“A few years ago, I was hired to write a series of articles about regional Italian cuisine. Since then, I have been looking for traditional Italian gelato. Until yesterday, I have been consistently disappointed. But this? It was absolutely EVERYTHING I had dreamed about. The prices weren't ridiculous, the bathroom was PRISTINE, the staff were helpful and friendly and it was incredibly, amazingly delicious. My only complaint is that I live too far away from your stores to get it very often. But about that? My hips are less upset about the distance. :) I will definitely be back, though!”
