“My son and I went there this morning as a place to kill time. We enjoyed our food there but I really want to thank the two amazing ladies that were there working. When my son needed to run around and play they let him, they're won't rude but instead kind to me and Ej. They understood and said kids will be kids don't stress. They were just very sweet people and I'll always appreciate them. Thank you and I'm sorry I didn't catch your names.“

“Any authority I might claim to knowledge of authenticity (of the feeling of being included in the ambience of an original (now vintage) train car, is spurious. My wish in this review, however, is to present a candid assessment of the Historic Village Diner with special reference to the 5 star rating I bestowed on the atmosphere afforded to the patrons of this eldritch eatery for it is a truism in my life that the edible fare has sat low—insofar as I comprehend the semiotics of totem poles—on the totem pole. I had a very special time here, once, with a very special person. As complicated feedback loops began to communicate an acute sense of our bodies literally dissolving, we confronted the possibility that we would need to read the menu and delegate the preparation of particular items therein described. The food arrived, was dispatched, and somewhere in there the check flutttttterrrrredddd down like the maiden leaf of autumn. Of all the objects and information on display throughout the diner, the bill was the least afflicted with nostalgia for it was determinedly unruly in its evident access to inflation. I won’t label it ‘high’ but merely, say, an impressive and inarguable rebuttal to one’s internalized assumptions as to the value of those victuals. It was the one seeming anachronism in this place otherwise so encysted and preserved from another era. The food was pure diner, recipes as old as the short order method itself and though I might never again return here, I would ask of the reader that they ask themselves if they would risk feeling the sensations that I and my special companion experienced in the presence of an imperfect simulacrum.“

“Well, vacationing in New York and driving around to all the different towns, we decided to stop and have a bite to eat, the look of the diner is what drew me to it. This is like a true diner, not a restaurant built to mimic one!Upon entering, you can tell the age of the restaurants, and again, I really enjoyed the aesthetic, you can tell they had a lot of regulars, and they had a lot of phone orders coming in for pick up. They also seem to be locals. Calling in, I could tell by the conversation as our seats were located right next to the phone.we were greeted as we went in, and our server was extremely attentive. The menu is absolutely huge, they offer so much. It was kind of hard to decide because I just wanted to order everything. I myself decided to go with the classic BLT, it did not disappoint. The bacon was thick and cooked perfectly and there was a lot of it, more bacon than anything, and I am not complaining, the lettuce was crisp and fresh, and the tomato was also firm and Fresh. My son ordered the breakfast pancakes. It came in a stack of three, and they were huge. He was very pleased with them. Our youngest ordered a grilled cheese. It was cooked perfectly, and their bread choice was not as thick as a Texas toast, but thicker than a standard loaf slice. One child ordered a classic cheeseburger, he said that it was cooked to a perfect medium, and the vegetables were just as fresh as the ones on my BLT. My wife is vegan and it was really awesome to see that they offered a beyond burger patty, so that is what she ordered, typically places overcook those, but not this place, you can tell that the Chef definitely knew what they were doing, and they executed all of our dishes perfectly.Given The Chance we would definitely return to this diner .Vegetarian options: Tons of salads and vegetables, and a meatless burger pattyParking: This diner has their own parking lot with plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: This restaurant offers a kids menuWheelchair accessibility: This restaurant offers a wheelchair ramp and two handicap accessible parking spaces right by the door.“

“A clean bright space. It doesn't have that "diner vibe.", but it makes up for it in the diner style food. It looks like it used to be a different type of restaurant. (another yelper mentioned a steakhouse. ). They used to serve alcohol, but they do not anymore. Everybody was friendly. We ordered to go. My partner and I both had the chicken, avocado and cheese, omelette, and instead of potatoes we asked for fruit. It came with toast, we chose rye. Everything was delicious. The fruit was fresh. The omelette was large. Plus, they were very generous with the fillings. The avocado was creamy, and the chicken was tender. The cheese was also good. It was real cheddar cheese. They did not over butter the toast .My partner got through most of her omelette, but not all of it. I finished mine, but barely. The total tab for both of us was extremely reasonable. We want to come back and try more things. Thank you...“

“We stopped by the deli on our way to visit family and it was so good, we all decided to give the diner a try. I love the care the new owners have put in! The original jukebox is restored, the menu is classic but elevated, the cocktails are delicious and you can leave with a quote or a poem from the cookie jar! Just all around good vibes and tasty food. So glad to have some more food options and support small businesses rather than chains.“

“The food was good. It's not great, but good. Quick meal friendly staff. The place was clean. It was a little busy when we arrived (all you can eat pasta night), and we had 2 toddlers with our party of 5, so seating was a bit hectic but it all worked out and we were sat rather quickly. Would definitely be going back.“

“Decided to go for breakfast. This diner is only about 15 minutes from me. it definitely looks like the 1970s inside. Nothing much has changed in all these years. They had some other good breakfast specials so I decided to go with their biscuits and gravy sausage gravy with potatoes and I added an egg the service was very friendly. Some locals were sitting at the counter around With the waitress looks like the owner may have come out and talked to them as well. My food came out and it looked very good. The sausage gravy had a good flavor. I didn't see that many chunks of sausage in the gravy however. The potatoes were cooked very nicely Crispy and tasty the egg was made just right. The biscuits were fresh and fluffy. Definitely a good value as well. Good Hardy portion I've heard that the burgers are made at the diner. Too often diners just get those frozen burgers and they all have the same consistency and taste. Out of the good number of diners in Kingston. There's one on the main street downtown. That's pretty good as well. Plus one that's a little further down the road I think there's even another one not too far from that one but out of the four this one is the best .“

“I like to come here for the big breakfast plates. I usually get one of the breakfast specials. I like to add their french toast to my order. Getting into the joint can be interesting becuase of the roadway, but it's worth it for the price. Bring a sweater, I always feel cold. Never too crowded when I've gone around lunch time and service has been quick.“
