Many NYC no-frills Chinese eateries have gravitated towards a heavier ratio of fried rice to the main entree item. Sometime after the pandemic, Golden Fountain's management changed and for some time now the food's gotten better, and the chicken wings are also pretty good, but most combination platter options are very good these days, and the soup and dumplings are pretty well balanced too.

Used to love em but the food is not as good as in the past. Used to get the wortip wontons all the time ! It's been kind of dry and tasteless lately, I don't know why !!!

Worst chinese food I had. Literally end up in garbage. Have to order something. Don't waste your money. Never seen mixed vegetables in just sticky yellow oil that smells like castor oil... the rice sticky and clumpy. Not gonna talk about the rest of the order. Even my dog didn't touch it...
