“I walked in here on a whim one day a few months ago. My go-to deli down the block had closed down. I needed somewhere to get my egg sandwiches. I'm so glad I did. They're better than the old deli, and less expensive. Almost every day, I order a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese. With hot sauce, pepperjack, on a toasted bun. It's consistently perfect, and for only $3, the best deal in the neighboorhood. I'll be a customer as long as I live here.”

“Listen to me now and hear me later! This legendary spot is one of the best kept secrets of Oklahoma’s old school places to eat and just kinda “be”. I appreciate all things old school and “how they should be”… This little culinary gem is a prime example of that. It’s like a hippy and a Jewish deli owner got married and started a business and you are the beneficiary of sandwich and soup that achieves “excellent” status! If you eat here and don’t try the potato salad you have made a grave error and I am going to have to question your credibility on all things food or food adjacent. Make good choices and eat this potato salad. Eat it slowly. Shed a tear for yourself, because if this is the first time you are eating it….. you have sorely missed out on something special. You deserve it. I had the New York Deli Classic. Pastrami that has attained the level of mana. That’s all you and your kids, family and weird work friends need to know. If you do not try this sandwich, I will come to your home and let your pets go and dump your neighbors’ trash bins into your yard. You have been told. Do something about it. Eat here or else Fido will be loosed on the neighborhood.”

“Great food at a great price. Got large orders of sesame chicken and veggie lo mein plus crab rangoons. Everything was delicious and the portions were right on. We ordered shortly before they closed and the gentleman delivered it to us quickly and included a large container of tea. Highly reccomend!”

“I've been to several Tropical Jerk locations (Uniondale, Baldwin), and I’d say this Roosevelt spot is the least crowded, which is a big plus. The parking lot does fill up quickly because of other places on the strip, so keep that in mind when you head over.

A heads-up for breakfast lovers: many Jamaican spots, including this one, stop serving breakfast pretty early, so if you're in the mood for ackee and dumplings, make sure you get there early enough!

Speaking of which, I had the ackee and fried dumpling. The ackee was tasty but a bit watery, which knocked it down a bit for me. On the flip side, the fried dumplings were great size, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and at the ideal temp.

Pricing is standard for Jamaican spots in the area, so you won't find anything too out of the ordinary there. One thing to note is that they don't take over-the-phone orders, so I recommend calling ahead to check if they have what you're craving before making the trip
