Quintessential sandwich shop that you gotta visit! I stopped in to grab a legendary bagel and lox . Oh my! The reviews were spot on! Honestly the best I ever had. Now I need to figure out an excuse to go back to Roselyn Heights so I can visit again..

So Scott Goldman has a cafe in Roslyn…..bagels, platters, salads, juices, fresh fish, sandwiches, etc etc catering and even franks.For as far back as I can remember his veggie diet tuna is absolutely the best you will ever have, so much so that I drive from Woodbury to his Cafe in Roslyn.We yesterday we tried some of his fresh chicken salad and holy moly was it delicious.His cafe has a warm friendly soho type of atmosphere!Take a spin to 17A Cafe in Roslyn!I highly recommend his food !!Ronald Steiger
In a quest to find “REAL “ whitefish salad, I followed a
friend’s suggestion and tried Cafe 17A. Amazing!
This past weekend I tried several other salads- Vegetable Tuna, Chicken Salad, Egg whites and spinach, Egg salad and mushrooms and of course sliced Nova and home made cream cheeses. My guests raved! Everything is fresh, and homemade with Love by Scott, the owner.

Nobody slices nova like Scott anymore! His skills at slicing the thinnest, most delicious lox is unparalleled. The flavor has nowhere to hide! Everything he makes is delicious! So honored to have a sandwich named after me! It’s an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, lox and whitefish salad topped with Bermuda onion. Highly recommend!!!

Excellent cafe with super fresh food and great atmosphere. All the salads are made from scratch and even the lox is hand-sliced each day. You can really taste the difference and the whole store is clean and inviting. The owner was so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!
Scott was great!!! He was friendly, personable and gave me a break on my order of 2 lobster roll sandwiches i had ordered for a day trip to fire island with my Momma. They were both made with care with lots of chunks of lobster and super delicious too!!! The highlight of our day trip was the super lunch Scott prepared for us.I highly recommend going here as the service and food quality is off the charts!! Thanks again Scott u made my 91 years young Momma & I very happy with those sandwiches!!!

What a shop!A breakfast visit to Scotty is really worth it.Whether it was the bagels with salmon, the acai punch or the coffee (he has all kinds of milk), everything was simply delicious.
