“I've been to Veggie Castle plenty of times and it's honestly amazing soul/caribbean-style vegan food. If you sometimes crave familiar flavors from previous non-vegan days, you should give it a try. The vegan fish, bbq chick'n legs, kale, mac & cheese, ginger chik'n, and BBQ jackfruit sandwiches are some of my favorites that I've tried.”

“Food is alright. Prices are slightly higher than that of other halal carts in the area for the same quality. It's 7.99 a platter (I don't get why they don't just round up to 8, they never give you back the 1 cent in change anyway). Comes with a free soda but obviously the price covers that so not really free. I think they should charge $7 per platter and the extra dollar if someone wants to buy a drink. Lamb didn't really hit my craving for lamb, maybe it's a lower quality lamb. Food is made really fast.”

“I ordered 3 garlic fried rice. It tastes good, but the chicken was extremely dry. The portion size is very good. I don't like how the place is crowded with men who were consuming alcohol and very rowdy. When you walked in, the men had something to say to women customers.”

We eat a LOT of halal cart food, and Abdul offers some of the best we’ve had. If you’re in the area (or flying out of JFK and have some extra time), it’s worth a small detour.”
