“We've lived in Southampton for 11 years but drive to Sag Harbor and Hampton Bay often to dine. We avoided Le Charlot because of the terrible reviews, but decided to give it a shot one wintery off-season Monday Night. To our surprise, they offered an off-season prix-fix menu and $12 glasses of wine. My husband selected from the $40 prix-fix (Escargot and Mussels) and i decided off menu (duck confit). In all honesty, the regular menu isn't a great value - 1 duck leg, salad and crisps for $38, but you're in the hamptons. I didn't know what to expect, but was pleasently surprised. Portion wise was perfect for me, but if you were hungry, you'd probably be disappointed.Everything was very tasty. The service was very good. The only thing we found a little weird was the music selection. We would have prefered some french music, which would have added to the ambience. We will definateiy go back again.“
“two days ago was the first time we came to that restaurant. But It is no doubt not the last time. We passed a splendid evening with the efficient service, with the high quality dishes and wine and with the honest pay. We will no doubt return there soon.“
“Such a great experience. The owner is charismatic and I believe stopped at every table. I lived in Alaska for 7 years and I've eaten a lot over Halibut. The special was Halibut w/ a champagne caviar sauce and it was in the top two I've had the pleasure to enjoy in the lower 48. The Truffle grilled cheese was awesome. The duck was cooked perfectly. The steak fritz was on point. The soup dujour was cream of cauliflower and was just perfect on the pallet. We will definitely be back for the aged steaks and more.“
“Not my first time I've been blown away by the Duck entree here. Tonight's was EXCEPTIONAL, and I eat duck everywhere in the East End. Ambiance: groovy room, alive but not too loud Service: smart & knowledgeable, but he 'got' that we were too - great menu guidance, not pushing anything. I trusted the opinions. (not always the case!) Prices: were kind for the zip code. Wine list as well.“
“Truly a hidden gem. Being a native North-forker, this is a great addition to local cuisine. The food, the setting and service are outstanding and worth every penny. Having eaten here several times, every meal (the beef bourgeoned, duck and penne ala vodka) has been outstanding. One note of criticism that hopefully ownership will hear, the menu says "crispy half duck", which one would assume means a "half duck" that includes breast, thigh and leg all in one piece. What I got was two leg quarters, or the back half of the duck leaving me to think the chef was saving the breast meat for something else. While it was delicious, I felt gipped, and if the server had told me "no breast meat" I would have ordered something else. So maybe something to think about for the future........“
“Everything was truly amazing! The service was impeccable and our server helped us navigate through all our wines we had.Highly recommend the charcuterie board and the sparkling flight! Do not miss this spot as it is the hot new space in town!!!“
“This was such a great find after a hike at Elizabeth Morton Preserve and a walk around town - great vibe, clean crisp styling of tables and banquets, and a nice tight bistro menu of classics + 15 wines from wine regions of France. Great onion soup perfectly browned and gooey and a lovely Pumpkin Creme Brûlée with an expert crack sugar top.“
“I want to give this place the benefit of the doubt because it is good and we just need some quality places to stick around in Southampton village. It's a cute restaurant. I appreciate their decor. Adorable little swing outside and the interior is very warm and inviting. The food was actually excellent- the gnocchi was fantastic, oysters were fresh. French onion soup was actually sublime - I'd recommend it highly. Only big issue we faced was: we had vegetarians at the table and ordered very specific vegetarian food items but these items came with meat and were then consumed by the veg folks. It feels like there might be an attention to detail issue considering they are new... maybe if you have a life threatening allergy, avoid this and go to a tried and true spot.“
