La Fontanella is an old-school Italian restaurant with large servings of excellent food. Despite its unassuming location, the interior is nice, and the staff is friendly. The place has a loyal following, with some regular customers visiting weekly. The majority of the hardworking and efficient staff are women. Dishes like NZ mussels, rigatoni pomodoro, and angel hair with shrimp are delicious, and even the house salad is flavorful with a light dressing. It's a small, friendly place reminiscent of Dante's in Leonia, perfect for locals to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine.
