The food is surprisingly adequate for a small wooden shack out behind the bar on the water. Barley on the Hudson is principally and foremost about the water-facing view. I had low expectations for a basic menu, but the lobster roll was surprisingly moist and flavorful, the popcorn shrimp was crisply fried and moist inside, and the fries were well seasoned. It was a nice Labor Day Monday at this venue with band Seeing Red. They played all of my favorites! Hamburger was really delicious made to order and the sunset along The River was just beautiful. It's a casual place though with no waitress service but I always seem to walk away liking it there.

This review is for ambience and accessibility only. I really wanted to try this restaurant because the lobster roll photographs look great but the only parking spaces are blocked by building materials. I'm sure the building materials are not paying customers. So this was a fail.
