This place is special. Phenomenal food, the General Manager and Bartenders were amazing and you can tell they really take pride in everything they do. Highly recommend.

Nice atmosphere, interesting menu, even if oysters aren't your thing, had wonderful service for a table of seven.

First, for your awareness, the oyster bar prominently featured in several photos including the Yelp page photo, is not currently there, replaced by several tables, and I did not see any other photos for Plumb with the newer layout. But this is still a great place, if not THE place, to get oysters and seafood in Troy. You can oysters individually, discounted for 6, or in platters, served with cocktail sauce, horseradish, lemon, and their own sauce. We took advantage of the presence of oysters in the seafood combo for 2 meal, which seems to be a good deal, also including clams, shrimp, crab legs, and a lobster claw and tail. But first, drinks and appetizers. Most of the featured cocktails have an unusual or special ingredient. But as you'll see on the drink menu, they can craft drinks to your liking, and that includes tweaking their specialty cocktails. For me, that happened to be a featured cocktail (different from the online menu, by the way), which included absinthe - which does not agree with me - which they omitted no problem. For an appetizer, we got the curried deviled eggs, which I thought was at a good price for 3 eggs (6 halves), and the addition of curry and the texture of the nuts made them very taste and texture appealing. The seafood platter is no frills, just you and the seafood and the toppings (which also included warmed garlic butter on the side as well), and I think that's a good thing. Though since it was a dinner for 2, maybe 2 lobster crackers instead of 1? Service was casual but great, we were checked on frequently. Overall it was quite an enjoyable experience.

Very pricey for things that shouldn't warrant such an astronomical cost as they charge. Very limited menu also.

This is my second time coming to the Plumb oyster bar in Troy. We were seated promptly and although I was initially a little disappointed in the appearance of our drinks, they tasted delicious and were decently strong. The seafood was all very fresh and the shellfish wasn't Sandy, portions were reasonable. We enjoyed a delicious fresh burrata for our appetizer. My only complaint with the food was with our entrée, a seafood roll. It honestly didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the dishes we had ordered, as it was served on a piece of checkered wax paper that is identical to the kind my local bowling alley uses. For $32 I thought that it was also a little heavy on the mayonnaise. I couldn't really taste how fresh the seafood was though there was a variety included within the roll, including scallops and crab. The ambience was lovely, perfect for a quiet date night or an intimate gathering with friends. The service was prompt but not overbearing though I felt that some of the serving staff could've been better informed. Over all good service. We had a great intimate dinner with excellent food for a reasonably high price. The shellfish was delectable and my only comment to this restaurant would be that if they're going to serve a $32 sandwich they have to make it worth it and it can't be served on a piece of wax paper drenched in mayo. Expect a higher budget for this upscale restaurant, anywhere from 60 to 100+ per person if you're getting drinks. The staff is friendly, the food is yummy and if your wallet can handle it , you'll have a unique and delicious evening!!

Plumb is such a good find. They make one of the best mojitos in the area (if you drink mojitos you know how many places mess them up). I love the decor and consider it one of the best places in Troy (and probably the 518) to go on a date/meet up with friends. The ambiance in plumb is very different from other places you will love it!

Good food and vibe. Started with curry egg. Main dishes were mussels and seafood roll. ?

Very nice, cute place located near the Troy Music Hall. We stopped there before a show. Menu is limited, but the items we had were delicious. The potatoes are delicious . Our waitress was awesome when around, but she kinda disappeared on us a few times.

The seafood pot pie was really good. Although it was essentially seafood bisque with a nice piece of puff pastry on top; not a pie at all. They have an array of inspired cocktails. Also a good selection of oysters.

This food was pretty bad. I’ll considered, poorly made. Overpriced. The wine was good though. The deviled eggs were good. The lobster roll our friends got looked good. Menu entrees though. A chicken sandwich isn’t that hard to get right. Does not require candied bacon or a fried egg or weird deep fried bread. Does require chicken not made of grizzle. Fries are better than weird wet potato block things. I remember this place being fine but I think it’s gone downhill.

I had high hopes. Oysters were acceptable. Had the short rib tacos and honestly not edible. They tasted like cardboard. The highly touted lobster bisque was not hot, had zero lobster meat (we are accustomed to very small bits this soup had no trace) and VERY salty. Had a cocktail which was well made. Waitress smelled so bad of cigarette smoke that when she came over to take our order, my eyes watered. That's never happened to me before. We ordered the Brussels sprouts - also disappointing. I don't mind paying for good food on a night out but almost $300...? This was a no for me. Maybe if we were just hanging cocktails, but service was slow and inattentive, but the cocktail was that good. I'd be tempted to try just a drink there again. If you're looking for food, keep looking.

Wowza - the best food in the capital district. Staff is amazing, and they refuse to compromise on quality during these rough times. Just make it a point to come here - it’s worth it.

The atmosphere is perfect for a date. AWESOME cocktails. The menu seems to change a lot which we love, because there is always something new to try. They always have vegetarian options too which is much appreciated. Oysters are top notch. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a high end experience with a moderate price tag.
