“Its a quaint clean establishment the staff is courteous the meals come in various sizes from small to large. when you walk in and see a very appetizing food display with a variety appetizing dishes it took me a minute to make up my mind I settled for the small beef stew w/rice and steam vegetables and the meal did not disappoint should have ordered the large meal. The beef was deliciously tender the vegetables weren't over cooked, white rice cooked to perfection. They also offer loyalty points.“

“Hello my fellow Yelpers! It's great to be back. All I can say is, that Puerto Plata was an incredible experience, that I shared with loved ones. It's a Dominican restaurant, specializing in seafood. Last night, we gathered to celebrate my uncle's birthday. My cousin made the reservation, for a party of 15. As soon as we came in, I was taken to the area for large parties. It consisted of 3 large tables; which were nicely arranged for the occasion. The waitress that catered to us, was very nice. For starters, we began with a delicious appetizer; consisting of mozzarella sticks, a fried yucca and cheese fritter, and grilled beef strips. I opted for a glass of lemonade. My mom ordered a glass of sangria. For the main course, 3 big trays of seafood, were brought to the table. It was a delicious combination of shrimp, lobster, salmon, sea scallops, mussels, crabs and calamari; sitting on a bed of steamed veggies. There was also. Side of garlicky tostones! Delicious. It was the best tasting seafood meal I've ever had! The flavors were spot on. Salty, buttery, garlicky sauce, at the bottom of the tray, with a touch of heat; accompanied with a fresh seafood taste. The staff is amazing. When it comes to the ambiance, the vibe is good for a couple's date night and of course, for groups. Great food and great drinks. I would definitely go back again! Next time, I will make sure to order extra tostones, to dunk into that sauce!“
“My New Favorite Spanish restaurant in Elmont. Upon entering the restaurant, I immediately noticed how clean and well-kept the place was, and Aurora gave great customer service and was very helpful with deciding what to eat. I ordered the Dinner half Rotisserie chicken, stew chicken, tostones, white rice, and beans, and you have to get the side of garlic sauce. The food was hot, on point, and flavorful. “We were looking for the original merengue restaurant knew what corner is on but we couldn't find it and we thought we were out of our minds for 2 minutes but we realized that it's now called Island Oasis the name changed and then food is the same the owners are the same and they said the name will be changed back as far as I know the drinks and food or five star me and my wife have a great time have a great atmosphere people and owner were very nice and polite and very interesting talking to them prices I bought two pieces of chocolate cake which were other than that everything“
“I had rotisserie chicken, pernil, empanadas (beef, cheeseburger, pepperoni pizza, chicken fajita), mac n cheese, white rice, yellow rice, beans and I chose green sauce. Their chicken fajita empanadas are stupid delicious. The homemade green sauce I can drink. The pernil is great on its own but eaten WITH the mac n cheese?! Pfft. Must have. Everything was great. Will definitely make a point to go back a few times before I move. Best Dominican food I've had yet.“
