“This place is a neighborhood gem and a perfect place to start your day. Service is friendly and fast. The omelettes are loaded with fresh vegetables and are *delicious*. Bacon cooked to perfection. The people are welcoming and kind. A sign by the cash register reads, "Life is Beautiful. Enjoy it. Take care of it, value it, flow with it." This Dominican restaurant is a great place to do just that.Vegetarian options: They have loads of meatless breakfast dishes. Not explicitly labeled as vegetarian but good, whole food without meat.“

“I had excellent guisado pollo with rice & beans; my friend loved his mofongo pollo. It was mid-afternoon so quiet, it took a little long for anyone to come over, but once the waitperson came they were nice and fully engaged. Friendly. Limonda was refreshing. The salad was wan with pale tomatoes and iceberg lettuce, but the dressing was great. You also get a ton of food.“

“Great place, just didn't like the fact that a gentleman was helping the server did not have gloves on and his mask was down his chin. I think precautions will make people feel safer and comfortable ordering from this place in a time like this.“

“The fried calamari made an excellent chioce for antipasti - the squid was fresh & batter was tasty. For secondi, the branzino (fish of the day) was impressive as well - fish was fresh and I loved the charred and crispy skin. I was glad that I had some space for dessert, as the tiramisu was exactly the way I liked it - moist with decent amount of coffee flavour. Waiters were friendly, and service was good and quick.“

“I mean, first off I'd like to say, if you're coming here, you MUST order the Picadera sampler. I mean, I think about it from time to time and this is what keeps me coming back. The ambiance is good and wait staff is wonderful. I don't love the Ala carte pricing as others have said but the food is great and the vibes are good so worth going on a nice date night or dinner with friends.“

“First off the staff are amazing - warm and friendly. Like you just walked into someone’s home. They patiently guided us through the menu, and brought out frozen glasses with our perfectly chilled beer. Ordered the chicken and pork stews with a side of plantains, everything was delicious. Almost made 5 stars - could have been slightly less salty and it would’ve!“

“My goto place for the best roasted chicken in the area. Their motto - El Rey Del Pollo - King of the Roast Chicken. Also tried their other dishes today like the sautéed pork chops and the grouper fish fillet sautéed, with side dishes of red black beans, maduros, steamed vegetables, and yellow rice. All were generous and delicious. Also ordered their Malecon cocktail, diet soda, and finished off with an authentic Tres Leches dessert. We were so full and we still had lots of food to take home. We actually over-ordered. Service was very friendly, attentive, and efficient. Ambiance is cozy and contemporary. The place was packed on a Sunday lunch, very popular.Parking: Predominantly street parking, free on certain times and days. Paid parking garage nearby.“

“Delicious and fabulous service! The service workers recommended the passion fruit tres leches and it was fabulous; the passion fruit layer added some tartness to the otherwise sweet cake.Out of abundant generosity they also gifted me a piece of their traditional tres leches cake. It was also delicious but definitely more sweet, without the fruit layer. Recommended with coffee!“

“The place is pretty small, more of a takeout style since there are only 2 stools alongside the narrow counter. I ordered the traditional chimi chimi minus the mayonnaise since I just hate mayonnaise. The sandwich comes with the beef patty, pan de agua, green tomatoes, and white cabbage, and the sauce is a mix of mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and hot sauce. I got the homemade tamarind juice to drink. The chimi was pretty good, I loved that they really kept it traditional with the green tomatoes and white cabbage. The sauce mixture was very good. The meat itself was a bit dry and lacked flavor so you definitely need the sauce to up the flavor. The tamarind juice was absolutely delicious and tasted, just like how they make it in DR. The fried cheese balls were just ok. We also ordered the beef empanadas, which were probably my favorite item along with the delicious green sauce. The service was great. I would definitely recommend if you're in the area and want to eat chimis.“
