The Broski Grill 53-26 Roosevelt Ave, Woodside Halal • $

“If you’re in Queens and you haven’t been to Broski Grill yet, you’re sleeping. This is the city that set the standard for halal street food — and Broski Grill is holding that flag with both hands.
I got the combo over rice with fries — crinkle cut — loaded with chipotle sauce, white sauce, hot sauce, and green sauce. Look at that box. That’s not a meal, that’s a flex.
The rice is a proper base, the meat is seasoned right, and the crinkle cuts hold up under all that sauce without going limp — which tells you the fries are fresh and the timing is on point. The sauce game is elite. White sauce is herby and creamy, the hot sauce brings real heat, the green sauce adds that fresh brightness, and the chipotle ties the whole thing together. Every bite hits different depending on what combination lands on the fork.
But what separates Broski Grill from every other spot on the block is the people. The owners genuinely care. They hook it up every time — not because you asked, but because that’s just how they’re built. That kind of love is rare anywhere, but especially in a city that moves as fast as New York. You feel it when you step up to the window and you feel it when you crack open that clamshell.
This is Queens halal done right — generous, seasoned with intention, and backed by real hospitality.
FEELS LIKE CLEAN HALAL - you go crazy with the sauce up to you. It ain’t no greasy cart food!!”

I showed them an inspiration photo less than 2 weeks before the event, chose the flavors and prayed it was beautiful and delicious! I was able to pick up the cake at 9AM when they first opened the day after the holiday and crossed my fingers. The cake was beautiful. No... It was simply STUNNING. It captured the color that I wanted for the cake and the simplicity of the design of it. My daughter loved the cake. It was also delicious (we ordered the lemon cake and cannoli; bottom and top tier respectively). It was also budget friendly. I got the 8" and 10" which was more than enough for sharing. “Reyes, located in Woodside, Queens, is a fantastic Dominican restaurant that offers a true taste of the Dominican Republic. The standout feature of this cozy spot is their Dominican breakfast, which is a perfect way to start the day. From the classic *mangú* (mashed plantains) to *queso frito* (fried cheese) and *salami*—all served with a side of crispy *mangú* and scrambled eggs—each bite is bursting with flavor and authenticity.

Aside from breakfast, Reyes delivers an array of authentic Dominican dishes that are expertly prepared. The *sancocho* (a hearty meat stew) and *mofongo* (fried plantain mash) are particularly popular, offering rich, savory flavors that transport you straight to the heart of the Caribbean. Their *chicharrón de pollo* (fried chicken) and *arroz con habichuelas* (rice and beans) are also must-tries, showcasing the best of Dominican comfort food.

The only drawback is that Reyes is closed from Friday to Monday, which can make it a bit tricky to get a taste of their delicious offerings during the weekend. Nonetheless, if you're in the area and craving authentic Dominican food, Reyes is definitely worth the visit. The flavors, the quality, and the friendly atmosphere make it a standout spot in Woodside.”

Fritzie's Bake Shop 69-10 Roosevelt Ave, Woodside Bakery • $

“Probably the best Filipino bakery in NY/NJ area. The breads and pastries makes you miss home. Ube breads are the best! Location: It is located in Roosevelt along all the Filipino stores and restaurants. The taho are outside of the store. Service: she was nice. Filipino hospitality at its best! Food: The breads are delicious, fluffy and still good after few days. UBE PANDESAL: to me this was the best I had unlike online seller this has visible cheese and ube jam inside the bread. Heat it up in the microwave for 10 seconds and devour its goodness. TAHO: how i miss taho in the Philippines, this breakfast drink is all about my country. Those soft tofu top with boba and syrup is just what I want in my life. Lol. Price rating: 5/10, not that bad for Filipino food cravings. Definitely will eat more here and try more of their breads!! Definitely try ube pandesal and taho!!”

Dhindo thali was amazing too but taas won it. Yomari is my another favourite desert, coming from the same community where this is a separate festival "Yomari purni", i ordered it all the times when I am here.”

“We first had our “taste” of Kabayan when my wife and I were invited by our friends for dinner, last month. We were impressed with the relaxing, friendly ambience of the place, the delicious food and great service of their Staff: QT and Justin. Tonight (April 23rd) we brought our own friends and grown up children to celebrate our Eldest Son’s Birthday. I only have SUPERLATIVES for this Place. Kabayan is the best really. All the food we ordered were excellent ( they have an excellent Chef), the ambience, atmosphere and most especially the great service of : QT and Justin. I even got to meet its Manager tonight, Jen. Very, very gracious and hospitable people and staff. I will bring all our friends and visitors here to Kabayan! I highly recommend Kabayan, “ hindi ka mapapahiya”.”
