“My experience here was nothing short of phenomenal. Our server Madeline was wonderful. The only reason that I'm not going back is because I just don't have that type of money to throw around. For those that have it, I highly recommend this place.“
“I've been telling my family that this is my favorite restaurant for the last two years. I finally got to take my dad here. He tried the veal scallopini and loved it. He said wow with every bite. I love trying their specials every month. There is a reason why this place is always packed and why I keep returning. It's amazing.“
“My husband and I were not disappointed with drinks, food, and Deborah was great. We didn't have a long wait on our food. He had seafood gumbo, lots of shrimp, I had salmon w/potatoes and green beans, key lime pie and cornbread creme brulee, all “
“Food is quite delicious and the oysters the one's I consumed were fresh. Service is ok. Maybe a bit more friendly. I'm not a regular though. Ambiance is a bit distracting and different music can be a bit loud. I've only been there a few times. However I do continue to go back. Check it out for yourself. I would say it's worth it.“
“Our next DIS Local Spotlight takes us right into the heart of Downtown Akron to DeJuan's Downtown AkronDeJuans is located at 1 W Exchange St Ste 100 in Akron Ohio and is occupying the building that formally housed Bricco. There is also a Valet service available for $7.DeJuan’s was realized in a time of need, a need for a turkey pepperoni pizza. Founder and Owner, De’Juan Kelker was in search of a turkey pepperoni pizza and to his disbelief, local pizza shops did not offer turkey pepperoni. He was stirred to open a restaurant that would serve those with selective palates and diets and offer ALL TURKEY EVERYTHING. The unique concept made way for him to acquire the Downtown property, once frequented by many locals, and continue his personal preference of fine dining.DeJuan's is also making history with becoming Akrons very first black-owned fine-dining restaurant. To say I was excited to try this restaurant was an understatement. Let's get into it.First off the decor, aesthetic and atmosphere are breathtaking. Large glass windows look out onto the city while inside you're surrounded by brick and open industrial ceiling. The space gives vibes of upscale yet accessible without ever being pretentious. The color scheme is black and white which is just elegant enough. The space is also lit very well which I appreciate. The staff is out of this world. DeJuans may just have some of the best service in the country and that's not hyperbole. From greeting us at the front door, to our server Diamond who was world class, the experience was perfect. Our drinks never got less than half empty and Diamond gave excellent recommendations and made sure our experience was one of a kind. There was also a party of maybe 12 people behind us and he gave them the same kind of service. Very impressive. For starters we got the Turkey Chop Bites and the Southern Fried Green Tomatoes.Turkey Chop Bites are pieces of turkey breast that are cut up and then lightly battered and fried. When I tell you my mouth is STILL watering from these things. So insanely juicy and crunchy. They would be good as a Po Boy or in a wrap but they were great by themselves. The Fried Green Tomatoes were also perfectly fried and topped with a shrimp salad that was really tasty. Diamond recommended we try it with hot sauce and that was the right move. For Mains we got the NY Strip and the Turkey Burger. The steak was cooked perfectly and was seasoned so well with salt, pepper and garlic butter. It was so tender and cut like butter. The taste from the grill was also extremely flavorful. There's not much more to say because it was literally perfect. The Turkey Burger was a surprise. Given the size of the patty I expected it to be on the dry side. I was pleasantly surprised it was not dry at all. Beautifully seasoned and complimented by the garlic Aioli and the sweetness of the caramelized onions, this burger was DELICIOUS. I could definitely see myself ordering this again. For dessert I got a slice of cheese cake and figured it would just be a normal slice you get anywhere.Guys... It's not. They take a slice of delicious cheesecake and then they blow-torch the outside so it creates like this crust on the exterior. That process kind of softens the cheesecake and makes it almost melty and creamy. LORD HAVE MERCY. I almost ordered another one. So simple yet so amazing.Folks.. if you haven't noticed by now, I don't know what else to say. DeJuans lives up to the hype. It's worth every penny and more. This is one of those places that I'm truly hoping you make reservations and try as soon as you can. Not only is it important for us to support black owned businesses, but it's important we support GOOD businesses as well. Trust me. I won't steer you wrong.“
“Only thing which is only minor was all the food was thrown or put away almost 2hrs before the posted closed time of 11pm. Very understandable if business is slowed, so definitely not a knock as they still did accommodate us and fresh hot plantains as well. Only suggest fixing hours on Google or something on profile to state such as a heads up. Other than that blessings an get the food bussin.“
“Went to Wise Guys this evening with a group of seven. We didn't have a reservation, but from the moment we walked in they couldn't be nicer. Jodie and Jo were the best. They rembered our names and were fantastic. The atmosphere, food and service were the best we experienced. All our orders were very tasty. Cudos to the kitchen and bar staff.“
“I started coming here for the hibachi when they first opened and it’s always been great! The flavor, portion, and price can’t be beat. Their egg rolls are THE BEST and we’ve never been disappointed by anything we’ve tried there. This time we went I was undecided on what to get and the server recommended I try the pho. OMG was this so so GOOD! (Hence the review)Really the food is always great no matter what we get, but the amount of flavor in that pho blew me away so I had to drop a review.“
“You will never have a bad meal or bad service at Lala's. Once again, the food was incredible, and the service was top notch. I recommend blue cheese on it if you're getting a steak, but you can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Keep up the great work Lala's! We'll definitely be back.“
“Food is amazing... price per pound on take out is very reasonable, and sit in price of buffet is right on point for food... food was steaming when walking in and stayed warm all the way for the drive home.. gentleman behind the counter is nice and helpful and will fulfill your request if possible (wanted non spicy orange chicken)... will be my go to place from now on...“
“Everything was good from start to finish. Well worth the trip up from Cleveland while on the way to see a concert in the Akron area. The atmosphere and staff attentiveness were right up there with some other great ones we've visited. Sarah rocked!“
“Sat quickly in a busy setting, server was fantastic, gave optimal time for the menu, drinks as soon as we sat.Appetizer was great, the salad with the dinner was meh, but I'm not a salad person anyway. Dinner was absolutely great. Everything came out quick for a Friday night. Well put together, great texture and taste. A repeat visit forsure.“
“Great food..great service..a little more expensive, but I have never had a bad meal at the Ido!Parking: They have a parking lot, and you can park behind the building across Ido..street parking also available. Many times it is hard to find a spot!!“
“Visited on a Saturday evening. First time there and our waitress Stephanie was amazing as she explained how to order the boil and seasoning and spice level. The result was perfect! I am also kinda new to sushi and she also recommended 2 perfect options. The place was clean, ambiance nice, parking convenient and price was in line with what i would expect. This will definitely be a stop when we are downtown Akron in the future. Oh and the drink selection was very good also if that is your thing.“
“Great staff! Great location, right on the water! Love the food! My favorites are the Mango Guacamole and I add corn, huge portion! I also love the Ceviche, Queso Fundido, and the ground beef tacos add pico de gallo. Margaritas and Paloma are excellent too! I have met friends here a lot! Keep up the great work!“
“First time visiting but Pitchfork has been on my list since opening. Given the Farmer's Rail track record, my expectations were set for a great experience and the team did not disappoint! Everything was exceptional, service, atmosphere and especially the food. Starting with my Black Walnut Manhattan, continuing with amazingly unique appetizers, to the taste bud satisfaction of the main course, I am looking forward to my next visit.“
“I had lunch here with friends. I ordered the fish and chips with remoulade sauce. I received one piece of fish and a good serving of fries. I did not receive the sauce until I was about half done with my meal. The fish and chips were good. The meal was 25.00 which I feel is high. Also be aware that 3% will be tacked on for credit card use.“
“I only give 3 for atmosphere because the taco truck just posted up, and we took it home to eat.Food was delicioso ? por supuesto.Took about 10 minutes because it was made to order and very fresh. Guacamole was soooo fresh and flavorful. I got the birria tacos and the birria sauce was a little too salty, but still yummy. We tried the chicken and steak Too, and they were very flavorful and savory as well. Me Encanta.Vegetarian options: Guac and cheese dip“
“Amazing Comfort food. Since Ive discovered them its a weekly staple for me . The shrimp is a must and ask (nicely) for seasoned french friesMost importantly, EVERYONE must try the Country Fried Ribs with BBQ sauce at least ONCE. Its perfection.“
“Lagos is a bar located in the upper portion of Pick's with the entrance facing the road. The restaurant offers a casual dining restaurant overlooking the lake. The bartender, Ray, was kind and attentive, and the drinks were balanced and well made. Food was delicious! A great spot on the lake!“
“My wife and I have been to a lot of steak places, but Lanning's Steakhouse has become one of our go-to spots lately. Here’s why we think it’s special:First off, the steaks here are always spot on. They’ve got this sauce that goes with the filet, and honestly, it’s just the right touch. We used to live on the east coast where oysters were a big deal, and we’re picky about them. The Blue Point oysters at Lanning's? Top-notch. They’re one of the few places we trust to get oysters fresh. They do a Caesar salad that’s a bit different from what you might expect, but in a good way. And those homemade croutons they throw in are amazing. I get the salad just to have those. Everything we’ve tried here has been great, no exceptions. What makes a big difference for us, though, is the service. The people here know how to take care of you. They get what fine dining is supposed to be like. Plus, they’ve recently remodeled the bar lounge area, and we really enjoy dining on that side of the fence now. It feels just right. The owners are around a lot, too. They make it a point to say hi, thank you, and make you feel like you’re more than just another customer. It’s nice to see that kind of attention in a place. With all the fancy restaurant choices around, Lanning's has quickly become one of our favorites. Great food, great service, and a place where they make you feel like family. That’s hard to beat.“
