I’m not sure it can get any better than the Fool’s Gold for breakfast. Drop biscuits and gravy, eggs perfectly prepared and goetta. Probably our 20th visit and there will be many, many more.

This place has become our dinner out go to. The food is always super fresh and service is by people who actually like what they're doing and treat all of us very well. Highly recommend the Pickins ad a start. The rotating sauces are always good. I think by now we've had just about everything on the menu and nothing dissapoints!

At the bar on a sat morning! Great way to start the day. I have been here several times. Coffee is point and the mimosas are quite tasty. Laid back atmosphere will a friendly wait staff, the bartender today was on point with service. A very cool place for brunch! Check them out!

I was visiting in the area for a family event and this place was suggested. My son and I had a great lunch here, the food was great, and the service was phenomenal. If it's your first visit, Seth is the best to guide you through! The ambiance was perfect for me. Low lighting, great music, and the decor was simple but very well put together. My first visit was during happy hour (to my surprise). There were certain sandwiches and apps half off. I ordered the Trail Pickins, Buffalo chicken sandwich, and biscuit donuts. The Trail Pickins was an exciting treat. The peach cobbler jam and creole gravy were a hit for me! All of them were delicious, but those were my favorite. The peach cobbler jam tasted exactly how I imagined, and the creole gravy had just the right amount of spice and seasoning. I usually find cajun/creole food to be over seasoned. This was just right! The buffalo chicken sandwich hit the spot. It is suggested to be eaten with a fork, please accept the suggestion. The chicken was very tender and juicy and was a lovely combination with the house made pickles and buttery biscuit. Lastly, the biscuit donuts were very good to my surprise. They weren't too heavy or dense as one may suspect, they were very fluffy and paired extremely well with the honey dip. The next day, I stopped by with more family members. This time, I ordered shrimp n grits! The shrimp were cooked just right, and the grits were nice and creamy, and of course, the creole gravy was the icing on top! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this establishment and hope to visit the next time I am in town. Thanks again, Seth, for the wonderful experience!

Worst gravies I've ever tasted. Threw them in the garbage. I'll stick to making it at home.

My wife had an out-of-town work trip, and we wanted to grab a bite of breakfast before heading to the airport. So, we pulled off the interstate in Union, KY, to try out Boomtown Biscuits and Whiskey. Boom Town offers warm, rustic options serving elevated comfort staples such as biscuits plus whiskey cocktails. My wife ordered the Fools Gold, another popular dish. This came with two biscuits, two eggs that were ordered scrambled, Sawmill Gravy, and bacon. The biscuits she received were dry; the gravy was very thin and overly sweet. The biscuits needed the gravy, but the sweetness of the gravy made it hard to eat. The eggs were scrambled well but over-seasoned and very salty. The bacon was crispy, offered a good chew, and was cut to a suitable thickness.I ordered the Yukon sandwich which comes with fried chicken, sawmill gravy, smoked cheddar, bacon, an egg ordered over-easy and Yukon fries. Our waiter told us this was one of their most popular dishes. The Yukon fries were cut like wedges, had a nice crust on the outside, and were soft on the inside. The seasoning on the fries offered good flavor. However, it was heavy-handed, which overpowered the fries. The sausage gravy was thin with a peppery but sweet flavor that was too much for my taste. The gravy also had chewy pieces of sausage. The biscuit had a good crunch on the outside and was fluffy and soft on the inside. The bacon was both crunchy and chewy with good flavor. The chicken was overcooked and nearly burnt on the outside. I could taste some good heat and flavor in the breading towards the center of the piece of chicken, but with most of it being overcooked, it drowned that out. The egg was ordered over-easy; unfortunately, it came out over-hard.Boom Town has a full bar and offers craft cocktails all day. They serve their entire menu all day. Their menu has sandwiches, plate entrees, and desserts. The waiter and hostess were amiable and helpful, and the ambiance was neat. The rustic old-time look and feel were welcoming. We tried two drinks that were not reviewed, and they were excellent. The Fat Man says that Boomtown Biscuits and Whiskey is NOT Fat Man Approved.

Service is absolutely great; food is better than any food locally and that's a fact. This restaurant does not get the credit it deserves. It is a repeat stop for us frequently.

So I've been here twice. The first time the food wasn't great tasting but I like giving places two shots. So I go a second time for their rib special. It wasn't so special. They were really dry. I can say the drinks were pretty good. They have really nice and attentive servers.

Best biscuit I've ever had. Drove from Dayton to check it out and the drive was absolutely worth it. Poutine and chicken and waffles highly recommended.
