“Don't be discouraged by the looks. This small town Chinese restaurant is packed full of flavors. I got the bourbon chicken with broccoli and it was cooked perfectly. The fried cheese wontons were fresh and light served with lots of sweet and sour sauce. The lomein was simple yet delicious. I definitely recommend this place to any locals or travelers! “We have been going to Shang Hai River for over 15 years. The food is always fresh and delicious; the staff friendly and attentive. We absolutely will not eat Chinese food anywhere else!Also, to the person who left a negative review because of an annoying customer; you should not have faulted the restaurant owner for his bad behavior. If you wanted the police called, why didn't you call them yourself? That is not a reason to leave such a negative review for a business.“

“We ordered the General TSO, Kung Pao Chicken, and Chicken and broccoli. The order was placed online and we picked it up. The process was very easy, the food was fresh, hot, and delicious .The service was also great and the employee working as kind and extremely friendly!“

“My go to is usually the general tso's chicken and crab rangoon. The crab rangoon does not have a strong crab flavor, it's more cream cheese and slightly sweet. However it's still really good. The general tso's is so good. It's got a little heat to it, but it's not overwhelmingly spicy. You can still taste all of the amazing flavors in it. The last time I dined in, the chicken was perfectly crispy. It was still pretty crispy the next day after microwaving it. They do give you a very generous amount of food, and I always look forward to the leftovers the next day.The service there is always good. The employees are very polite, and attentive. They keep up on our drinks very well. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. The parking in the Plaza that it's in, is not the greatest. The parking in front of the restaurant is very limited and tight to get in and out. I'd suggest just parking in the larger section of the parking lot, it's a little more of a walk but less stressful if you get stressed in tight parking spots. This is one of my favorite places to eat at though.“

“Amazing old school Chinese food tucked away in a busy Boardman strip mall. Reminds me of the Cantonese restaurants of my youth, which are sadly a thing of the past. Don't let the simple and plain interior fool you. Wonderful food and amazing prices. Stopped in for lunch and had the Shrimp Egg Foo Yong. Came with hot tea, fried rice and wonton soup. Delicious! Very nice portion for the total cost of $8.56. I live over the border in PA and I will definitely return for lunch or dinner when I'm in the area. Forget the abysmal Chinese buffet down the street, stop at House of China instead. You don't be disappointed“

“Food was fresh, not a huge variety, but basic Chinese buffet staples. Food was very tasty tho! They have an extra charge for any food wasted, which I find unacceptable. Buffets are a good place to try new foods. Obviously, taking too much just to sample is unacceptable too. 6.99/lb for wasted dinner food, 5.99 for lunch wasted.“
