The staff is just always awful. The food and coffee are good but the people they hire to work here make every experience awful. The gentleman working this morning was a prime example.

Super nice staff and delicious pistachio latte on my birthday. Nice to grab a hot cup of brew while doing a little grocery shopping.

Although I usually have another go-to grocery store, sometimes I stop by this location for a few things. For a Giant Eagle, it's not bad! The parking lot is huge but can fill up during the popular times. The one perk of having such a large store is that most areas aren't crowded even if there are a lot of people shopping. There is a really nice liquor store and a wine/beer section. There are quite a few different varieties and it's located on the left hand side so if you're just getting the booze you don't even have to go through the store! Win! There is also a "bar" and some TV's so you can stop by for a drink if that's your thing. There is a large salad bar and they have hot food as well. This store also has some specialty areas: the deli and cheese sections and robust and lots of various prepared foods or those boxes where they give you all the ingredients to make your own meal, all in one box! The meat and seafood section is large and they have some impressive offering. The bakery is huge (btw, GE cake and frosting are delicious!!!) The personal care and pharmacy section is all the way on the right. As a Cleveland girl I have always disliked Giant Eagle ( it's the only comprehensive mid price grocery in the Cleveland area) but this location is softening me up a bit. The cashiers and staff are pretty friendly. Plus the gas station is on the side of the parking lot. All the chores, done!

Such a nice and overworked barista that works here (blond hair with glasses). She was really pleasant and patient, and gave a good recommendation. She was manning down a long line but got all the orders out quickly. It sucks that the app doesn't allow for tips, but she really went above and beyond. On a sidenote, this Starbucks is now closing at 2pm instead of 6p starting this week.

My review is solely for the Bakery. I have a wedding coming up, and I was trying to find the most efficient way of getting a cake for it since I have little time to get everything planned. I found the design I wanted online, so it wasn't even a special request, and I have called several times over the past three weeks to order it. Still, I have been told each time that I need to order it through the cake decorator, but they are never there. I was also told that a month's notice was required for it, which is now past that, so I guess making a wedding cake isn't worth their time, and I will have to scramble to find a different option.

Just got an iced coffee and the staff was so rude. The dirty looks I got for asking for cream in my coffee could have turned my coffee black. The Panera Bread across the parking lot is dying for staff, just an FYI, since life at Starbucks in The Market District is so rough.

Before Giant Eagle, there was Big Bear. But corporate mergers and big business change the names around over time - my friends and I just call these super groceries "Giant Animal" now! I was a bit disappointed when Giant Eagle closed their location on Fifth Avenue at Grandview Avenue. In a relatively close timeframe Giant Eagle also closed a location in Victorian Village. I had heard that the staff at the other old location had to re-interview for their jobs at the new store - I have absolutely no idea if that's true at all, but I can tell you that the employees at the Fifth Avenue Giant Eagle were wonderful & very customer focused. My experience with the employees at this new Giant Eagle is quite similar. outside the store closest to the street you'll find a fuel station, which is connected to the business model. So the first thing you'll notice when you walk up to the entrance of the store, apart from the shopping carts, is a display of locally grown produce. I'm a big fan of locally grown produce and have many friends in the agriculture industry. So I appreciate this sort of support for the hard-working farmers in Ohio. The same theme is evident inside the store. From the main entrance you're greeted with a huge produce department. Off to the left is a working delicatessen, and ready-made food selections for people who were in a hurry. there is also a package store with a wide variety of liquor, and a pretty good inventory of wine nearby. Inside the store or some other convenient services - such as a Starbucks, Huntington bank if you need banking services, and although I haven't used it, there appears to be a clothes cleaning service available. there are a ton of lines to check out, so the wait is generally at a minimum when I'm there. Great bakery with lots of fresh selections, and on relatively short notice you can often order up a cake with personalized decorations if you need one. My friends and I are a fan of the white cake, which has a distinctive icing flavor we think is unique to Giant Eagle, and we all think it's delicious.

"Upscale" (means expensive) supermarket with a dwindling selection and clueless management. I recently did a price check and Whole Foods was actually cheaper for assorted meats, cheeses and breads! Management has used the pandemic as an excuse to reduce item selection (instead of 10 different choices, you now have 2-3), close exits and entrances, eliminate hand baskets, and hire clueless staff. The delivery service associates and their carts clog up every aisle, restocking is done at busy times of the day. The quality of meat and fish is below Wal-Mart. Tried prime steaks and roasts- no marbling, these were clearly choice or below. Fish selection is limited and it's all been frozen, even when it says "fresh." The fish counter was closed when I was shopping at 10 am. Many basic items are out of stock. They have not had dried pinto or kidney beans for over a month. There was no self-rising flour at my last visit. This is not a supply chain thing, I found all of these at Kroger and Whole Foods. The soup and hot foods bars are still closed, even though we all know that COVID is not spread via food. This is just lazy,cost-cutting. Special orders from the help desk are just ignored, no one ever gets back to you and emails to corporate are never returned. The parking lot has 40 spaces for curbside pick-up, taking up prime, close-in spots, even though there are rarely 2 cars waiting. I've moved on from this shoddy business, despite living 2 blocks away.

Two years in a row I found myself needing a German Chocolate cake at the last minute for a birthday. After searching and finding most bakeries didn't carry it, had to be ordered ahead of time, or not in season...took a chance and called here. This year, what luck!! They had the cake and even better, it was absolutely delicious!!! Very moist and the traditional nut and coconut frosting was very good!! Perfect!!

I've had spotty experiences with different employees at this specific location, but the manager Dan made up for all of that with how I was treated as a customer tonight. He went well out of his way and displayed exquisite customer service.

This used to be open 24/7 prior to the pandemic, but they still have solid hours for me to drop by during the day or after work or workout at night. Great selections for fresh vegetables, deli and butcher shop, newly cooked food and bakery. It has a flower shop, a dry cleaner, a Starbucks, and a wine/beer bar.

Pretty great market that has about everything one could want from fresh made sushi to freshly baked desserts. Plus, you can get your milk and bread on your way out!

This is our number one grocery store. That is not to say that it is without flaws, but we take the good with the bad. This grocery store is almost impossible to have a quick in and out trip. So when we forget an item or just need one thing, it is such a pain to have to go in because it takes longer than I would like. With all that being said, overall this is our go to store. It is massive, so it has a lot of products that you can not find at other stores. We enjoy the familiarity of the layout. Though it did take some getting use to. We now pretty much know where all the items are located within the sore. Often I line up what I'm shopping for with what is on sale. Sometimes I am even able to pair up a sale and a coupon I have on hand. A while ago Giant Eagle stopped doubling coupons. That really frustrated me. Ultimately I figure that they would have stopped doubling coupons due to the COVID virus, so I am just accepting the new policy now. Their antibiotic free chicken is overpriced but again I just line up my purchases with their sale on it. Their produce is questionable most of the time. I wish it were fresher. There are a couple of cashiers that have been there for years and are a pleasure to see. Many others are just rotating faces coming and going. If you are in the area check out this huge Giant Eagle and see what you think.
