I reviewed this restaurant before, mentioning problems with Sunday Brunch, but stating that we'd give them a second chance. When we went back, it was even worse. We called ahead to advise them that we had 7 people in our party. They said that would be fine, and they would set up for us. When we arrived, there were 2 very large groups already there. The waitress said that they were a little backed up, because of the large parties. We asked whether it would be better for us to go somewhere else, but they assured us that we would be waited on soon. Apparently, they called in their baker to come wait tables, and she did her best, but it was over 1 1/2 hours before we were served. The waitress admitted that they had lost their chef, and the kitchen staff were doing their best. However, their best was not acceptable. The breakfast potatoes that seem to come with every selection were dried up and shriveled (probably from sitting in a warming table for too long), the tortillas in the breakfast quesadilla were so hard that it was very difficult to cut with a knife. Several dishes were served with missing items, such as fruit cups, sausage, etc. It's too bad that they seem to be having such staffing problems, because the setting is beautiful. However, we won't be back!

Went for the Lenten Friday night fish fry. All the fried fish (Walleye) you can eat, served with French fries, cole slaw and tarter sauce. No second helping on fries an slaw, but the initial serving was more than enough. WARNING: the portions are humongous, especially the fish! Very tasty and all for $15 plus drink and gratuity. Coke products and a well stocked bar provide the liquid refreshment. Only 2 servers working, so beverage service and second round of fish was slower than normal. Staff very friendly and helpful though. With the large amount of food, be sure you go hungry!

I didn't know what to expect when we went there since it's a former (?) Private golf club. I'm pleased to report that it's got a great atmosphere - casual, relaxed, with a cool menu. The dining room is small - maybe 12 tables - as is the bar but it adds to the "small crowd just hanging" vibe. I recommend coming at any time that isn't peak.

We arrived here at 6:30 and ordered at around 6:45. We didn't get our food until around 8:15. Our food was cold and nasty, and extremely dry. One of us didn't even get all of our food. They said they were busy, and I can understand that, but waiting over an hour for food and realizing it's cold? Unacceptable. This is my first time here, and most definitely my last. Based on my experience here, I would not recommend this place.

Wonderful food however, the live music was way to liud to have dinner conversation.

We had reservations for 6:30pm on Valentines Day and were looking forward to trying out a new place. I have heard great things about this restuarant but unfortunately we did not have the same experience. Being Valentines Day we expected a longer wait than usual but we did not plan on waiting almost 1 1/2 hours to get out food. Finally we get our food and to our disappointment it was mostly unedible. My rare filet medallions were completetely overcooked and dry, the salmon was cold and dry and the only meal that seemed fresh was way over seasoned. Sorry to say but we will not be back or recommend this restaurant.

We've been twice, once for dinner, and once for Sunday Brunch with a group of friends. The menu for dinner offered a good selection. We really enjoyed the food and the ambiance. When we came back with friends for Sunday Brunch, they were unusually busy, and the service suffered. The menu offered a wide variety of choices, and the food was well prepared, but it arrived at the table cold, and we kept having to remind the waitress for things she forgot, including silverware. I think they must have been unprepared for the number of customers. We'll give them another try, though.

Stopped for breakfast today. Lovely place, great food with huge portions. Met the owner and the manager, who were wonderful to speak with. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back again!

Four of us ate at the Tavern Restaurant week. The food and service was outstanding. We had the Salmon dish, and it was delicious, and well presented. The four of us can't wait to go back to the Tavern. The owner Marvin Kidd and the staff are doing a fantastic job of bringing fine dinning to Greene County. Hon. Bob Doyle
