Jane and her team are fantastic and went above and beyond. The coffee, drinks and setting are great. I look forward to our next trip to Middle Bass.

The Island Grind is such a unique addition to Middle Bass. It's located right off the Miller dock behind the historic Lonz Winery which gives you the perfect first, or last, stop when you're visiting the island! I always get a frozen chai and it's unlike anything I've ever had from any cafe. They also have a prohibition bar around the side and it looks straight out of the 1920s and the drinks are delicious. I've gone to both places several times this season. The owner Jane is also absolutely amazing. She puts so much attention and care into her craft and her connection to customers. I'm looking forward to coming back next season!

Jane is amazing! She was kind, courteous and helpful. Honestly I wish I went there on the first day of my trip. The coffee was amazing and I'm definitely going back to check out her speak easy. Make her your first stop if you are new to the area and need the low down.

A cool coffee shop that is part of the Lonz Winery State Park grounds. Very good cappuccino and we really liked the chocolate covered coffee beans. If you go though the door to the left of the counter you step in to a well themed speak-easy. Fun place with a full bar although not very large. I took advantage of both places and had an espresso martini. Worth a stop after you walk the park grounds and see the old winery.

I really enjoyed the coffee. The smoothies were ok. Everything was reasonably priced. My only complaint is the website to this place had an amazing menu but when we got there they only have what was on the chalk board. I asked about the food and they didn’t have anything except for the items in the cold case.

Wow-I could almost stop here everyday on the island the food, atmosphere and staff are so good!! A great breakfast place and open all day but the coffee—-whoa!! The coffee is fabulous and more. I can’t imagine ever being disappointed here. We got a couple awesome muffins and someone’s breakfast sandwiches came out while we were being served-dreamy-we should have got those too lol. My wife got some chilled kombucha and I got the frozen mocha frappe-delicious!! They have a plentiful menu and will tailor your drink to just what you want and are very knowledgeable about coffee and the way to serve it up right! This really is a place to visit everyday while you are on MBI multiple times each day for that matter!! They even have a big Jenga game along with other fun games. Plenty of seating inside or out for big groups tooKid-friendliness: Great food for kids too and the giant jenga game will keep them happy

Jane is simply amazing. She is hands down one of the nicest people the work with. We couldn't be happier with the way she handled our wedding. Food was all on point and the service was top notch. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Great food and easily the best coffee/brunch offered on MBI. Provided at a snail's pace though, and operational efficiencies are desperately needed.1. When an order is placed, why doesn't the patron complete their payment at that time? The current service structure requires both employees and patrons to return to the busy checkout line, interrupt ongoing orders, and unnecessarily slow down the flow of business. A never-ending cluster of 4 employees crawling over one another just to operate.2. Provide a menu. And when asked, don't just say it's online. Where online? Patron after patron has no idea what's offered at the Grind, and your ability to generate income is significantly hampered while simultaneously frustrating new patrons.3. The chalkboard located behind the service area contains gibberish text referring to healthy flavor blends without any context, drink type, price, or any data of actual benefit. The wasted space could be used to provide useful information or links to menu items, daily specials, etc.The Island Grind could easily grow their operational capacity, greatly increase revenue flows, and significantly improve customer satisfaction by implementing minor changes that wouldn't require increased capital investments.
