I’d suggest a little baking soda to crisp them up. Baking soda alkalizes the water. It breaks down the pectin in the potato and brings the natural starches up to the surface. Making it extra crispy! “The place is cozy and flamboyantly decorated, although the Statue of Liberty they have in the entryway is holding a cheeseburger instead of a torch, which is historically inaccurate, but I'll let that slide since the seats were comfy. The waiter had a pleasant demeanor, though he kept eyeing up my mason jar of wasps, even after I explained I couldn't keep them in the car with how cold it was. I ordered the western burger, medium rare, swap out the buns for more onion straws, and an extra rare beef patty on the side (for the wasps) and onion rings and a cherry coke. He asked if I would like to try the burnt tips, and I told him that anything burnt would have to be sent back. After the food was brought out the waiter never came back, and after looking for a moment I saw him outside holding a cam of Raid. Not sure what the break policy is here but it would have been nice to be offered a cheesecake or something.
