Charity, the restaurants’ general manager, and her team went above and beyond to make the evening so incredibly memorable and perfect. Charity made sure Mr. Sortino himself stopped by to meet us and spend time with us- making our night even more special 💕. Don’t even get me started on the food! Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the Chicken Marsala and the Anti-Pasta Board. Only complaint is how far away from us Sortino’s is (we live in Virginia) ☺️. “I’ve never eaten anywhere that you could so easily tell that everything was made in house. The food was absolutely incredible with their meatballs being our favorite item. The steaks were cooked perfectly with a fresh sear that stayed on the outside and such a tender and even cook inside. Decor is really cute and made a great dinner date atmosphere. Our server was great. Super attentive and really engaging when she did stop by.”

We had a guy server can’t remember his name but he was great.. even though we did wait for a minute it was okay because we were acknowledged and not ignored. Server was super friendly and nice the food was DELICIOUS! 10/10 experience, we will definitely be back!”

“This review is based on a one night stay. The hotel was fairly close to Cedar Point. Was this a five star hotel? No. Was it the cleanest? No. Was it the most modern upscale hotel? No. Was the staff ultra helpful and friendly? No. Was it 300 a night? No!!! I was looking for a decent hotel to literally crash at after 12 hours at Cedar Point. Here was my criteria... A comfortable bed. Check! A decent shower. Check! Less than 300 a night. Check!Bottom line if you don't want to spend a fortune on a place after a long day at Cedar Point and you are going to crash 20 minutes after arriving then this is a great option. The bed was comfy and the shower was hot and had lots of pressure.Just my two cents”

“Brick Oven Bistro is one of my favorite places to eat in Sandusky. They have a great everyday menu and they are always coming up with creative new ideas. Two of my favorite things are the stuffed jalapeños and the spinach salad. Try them out you won’t be disappointed!”

“We came in at 8:30 PM after leaving the mall. It was pretty quiet and we were quickly shown to a nice booth.

Quite a few things on the menu excited me. I had to have takoyaki, and I'd been reading about Korean noodles so I figured I'd have those. I ordered mine with chicken for an extra $2. My husband is a kung po nut, so he got kung po and added beef for $2.50. I ordered hot tea and my husband got a regular coke (coke products.)

My tea arrived and a few minutes later the takoyaki came. They were six beautiful crispy balls of delicious creamy batter with a little nugget of tender octopus in the center. They were drizzled in mayonnaise and eel sauce, and topped with bonito flakes and thin nori strips. They were absolutely fantastic.

When our meals came you could actually *smell* the kiss of the wok. I tasted a bit of kung po, and I have to say it was refreshingly savory. For once the kung po was not smothered in a cloyingly sweet brown sauce, instead the sauce was balanced and subtle. For me at least it was superior to any other local kung po l've tasted. It had a nice balance of spiciness because they'd actually bloomed red chilis in their starting oil. One minor quibble would be that it was missing crunch. A handful of peanuts would have added nice contrast.

My Korean noodles were not what I expected: the thicker wheat noodles, meat, and veggies in the rich, sweet, deep brown sauce. Instead they were ramen noodles in a light, savory, creamy sauce that really complimented rhe bean sprouts, chicken, bok choi, and Chinese scallions. It was unexpected, but I could have licked the plate clean. I could have added some of the chili condiment or soy sauce also on the table, but why mess with perfection?

Perfection. The wait staff were the embodiment of professional and attended to us quickly and effortlessly. They answered my request for an extra napkin in seconds -- a takoyaki dumpling jumped off of my chopsticks. I swear it did! 🤣

We settled our bill and tipped well. We left well-satisfied with the service, the food, and the cost, just as a crowd came in!

Next time I want to try their pad Thaï. I'll get around to ramen eventually. Oh, and I think they've changed their name. The location is the same! 🙂”

“Patina Porch has become one of our absolute favorite places. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is airy, welcoming, and full of charm. The staff are just as warm as the space itself. They’re always happy to adjust things to your tastes, and as someone with a gluten allergy, it means a lot that they genuinely take it seriously and go out of their way to make sure I’m taken care of. My fiancé Chad and I also love browsing the beautiful antiques, upcycled items, and plants. It makes every visit feel like a little experience beyond just stopping in. Over time, the staff have become friends, and we’ve even met new friends along the way while spending time there. It’s also one of our favorite places to bring people who are visiting or to introduce friends to, because we know they’ll love it as much as we do. We also love their trivia nights on Thursdays. It’s always a fun reason to come back and spend time there. Patina Porch is one of those rare places that feels both special and comfortable at the same time, and we’re always happy to come back.”

I only took one star on the overall rating because seating was cramped, but then again I am 6'5" so I guess that makes a difference. However what make my experience exceptional was the service. Our waitress name was Dianna. Wow, she is awesome. She took care of us better than any waitress that I have had probably ever, and that is saying something because I've been around for a wh ile and love to eat out. She kept our drinks full and everytime we needed something she was there and got it for us quickly and didn't forget anything. And believe me, they were super busy, but our family needs were met very very quickly and always with a smile. Dianna, I hope you and your boss can read this, I want to thank you for such a great experience. You have a new customer at least as long as you work there.”

“We visited last week while renting a condo about a block from Tony's for a week. We found this place by accident, just strolling thru town. Our son wanted wings and it was the first place with a menu our family of 4 could all agree upon. We came in from the back and up the patio to enter and weren't sure what to put expect. We were impressed with the interior and that it was the first restaurant (4th overall in Sandusky on our trip) with an adequate cooling system. We were all impressed with our choices. My husband had the Greek cheesesteak and loved it. I couldn't decide between the mac & cheese hot dog or the French Dip. Our server JP a suggested the French Dip and I have to say it is one of the best I've ever had. I think their seasoned mayo is what makes their sandwiches! The daughter and I both got the mac and cheese. She said it was the best mac & cheese she's ever had and she's never impressed. If we are ever back in Sandusky, we're definitely coming back!”

“This is a fun hometown bar. I arrived around opening and it was fun observing the regulars coming into the lounge. The bartender knew them by name, and they’d clearly shared dozens of stories together over years. It was very wholesome and gives a real vibe of being welcome and accepted. It reminded me of Cheers but in the Midwest.

There are a few TVs with usual sports and other programs to view while sipping your drink or eating some well-made food. The selections are pretty varied with a few taps and a fridge full of bottled consumables.

This is the type of place that you want to hang around in for hours. There are some bars and lounges that are skeevy or shady or just give off a bad aura. But Excuses Lounge is definitely a place where you’ll meet new friends and create lasting memories with old friends and family.”

I had their lasagna from the smaller portion options and it was absolutely delicious, just the size portion I wanted.”
