It's a small bakery. It's not sexy but the king cakes are good. Plenty of parking. If it's 5 customers inside it will be packed out. However they are expanding.Parking: Plenty of parking

Great king cake. Service is excellent. It's a very very small bakery. It's not sexy but the service and king cakes are good. If it's 5 customers inside it will be packed . The good thing is they are expanding.

I pre ordered a large order of pastry items for a special event that took place yesterday. I am not from Arlington and was shocked by how many customers were coming and going on an ordinary Wednesday afternoon. I selected an assortment that included the Rasberry Bar, Rasberry Tea Cake, Bear Claw, Butterscotch Rolls and Cinnamon Sticks. I was stuck by how nicely they were boxed, so as to not crush or break. Our guests gobbled everything ...the tray that had more than enough for everyone was emptied..and I had numerous questions about where I got the bakery items. Several of the guests commented their plans to make a "road trip" together to come back for more. It's hard to find a bakery like this anymore. Most big box stores only carry the run of the mill cookie, cupcake and donuts. While they also offer those items here, if you want something different...you can find it here and it will be delicious.

I read that The Original Goodie Shop came in 1st and 2nd in a local donut fest, so that prompted me to drop in on a Saturday morning. To their credit, the donuts were the best of the assorted sweets that I tried. The cream filled vanilla long john was 5 stars. The cake donut was maybe a 4. The lemon bar was a 3.5. The Brownie was a 3. The cookie was a 2. After my trip, I was told that they are known for their cinnamon sticks. I think if you stick with those and the donuts, you'll be in good shape.

My family has been going here for literally my whole life (over 60 years). I stopped by today and my sister and I both bought decorated cookies. I bought some that were small and perfect for a tea, or in my case, just a small bit of sweetness for a light dessert. The "multicolor corn" cookies were perfect for fall and glad they had "buckeyes also".

My family grew up in UA but moved out of state many years ago, whenever they're back in town I always make a special trip to the Goodie Shop. The donuts are a blast of nostalgia and just as good as I remember them being over 20 years ago. The maple & cream long johns are particular favorites of ours. Can't beat this Columbus staple!

Wow wow wow! Is this the only bakery around who opens super early? I am so grateful they open at 7am because they saved my life when I needed to send a birthday gift to a coworker this morning! The cupcakes were lovely and arrived quickly. I will be ordering again!

Best cookie shop in central OH you have to visit and get the smiley cookies or the thumb prints!

Until last weekend I had experienced nothing but the best from The Goodie Shop. I had ordered multiple birthday cakes that were amazing and stopped by for countless donuts and cinnamon sticks. I pre-ordered (over a week in advance) custom sugar cookies for a wedding shower. When I picked them up, they looked messy and amateur. Frankly, I could have done a better job myself. I took them back to the store to ask if they could be redone and the two teenagers working at the time told me no. When I asked if I could get other cookies to replace, they said yes but then proceeded to charge me for them (after I had already paid $60 for the two dozen). It was an extremely disappointing experience with a business that I normally love. Will not be going back for any custom baked goods :(

I was introduced to The Original Goodie Shop as a first year student at Ohio State in the late 1980's. When it comes to small, family owned brick and mortar bakeries in the Columbus area, they are, quite simply THE best (love Resch's too! ❤️)! Their cakes, doughnuts and pastries NEVER disappoint which explains why they are a central Ohio institution! For the last two years I've driven from Licking county to indulge and it's well worth the trip. And the holidays wouldn't be the same without their charming and yummy variety boxes that I give as gifts every year. I've NEVER been disappointed. However, I have to be honest. I find the fact that they actively encourage their patrons to add gratuity ..... tacky and honestly..... offensive. The Goodie Shop has always been expensive and rightfully so. The quality is well worth the price. But when I'm paying $2.75 for each of my two dozen cookies, I don't appreciate having to confront a gratuity screen on the kiosk while the young cashier waits for the tally. I find that sort of pressure garish and below the bar for such a reputable and classy space. I don't tip the cashier's at Weilands Market (who do much more physical work that simply putting cookies in a box), nor do my dry cleaners have a jar on the counter with a hand written "TIPS" scrawled across the front.Sales associats in a bakery shouldn't have to depend on gratuity as a wage. I can only hope that they're paid a decent hourly wage and that anything extra that may be left by a patron is merely a kind gesture, but the fact that I'm prompted to pay even more every time I use my credit card makes me wonder if that's the case. Please take the time to ponder my suggestion that you end this practice. I'm far from the only one who finds it distasteful. ❤️

Birthday cake was really dry and didn’t have much flavor. I love the donuts here. I was really really wanting to love this cake, and I even tried it multiple times. Everyone at the party agreed, it was very dry and had no flavor. It was also really expensive for a very basic cake. I will not be getting any other birthday cakes from here. My best friend’s little boy had his birthday cake from here 1 year ago and it was also not great, but I was hoping that was an accident. It appears it was no accident. The cakes are just bad. But again, the donuts are incredible. Such a shame.

I've tried it once about a year ago and haven't been back since. The shop is small and gets crowded. The staff are ok but it appears that you really need to know what they make and know what you want before you get there. Now, that being said, they have an online menu that tells you what they make. Not all are made daily, some must be ordered. The reason for 3 stars is because my experience at the shop itself didn't inspire me to return, apparently ever. However, the 3stars are primarily for the owner and the way she handled my feedback. I paid with a card and received an email receipt. The system the owner uses sends a survey attached to the email receipt. When she recipients my feedback on being dissatisfied, she provided an explanation, an apology and an instant reversal of payment for the item I didn't like. It showed immediately on my online statement for that particular card. That's serious customer service and support right there. Now that I'm thinking about it, she can have 5 stars just for that and I may go by there one morning after work and get something else to try. So, initially I was giving 3 stars but thought about the high level of professionalism from the owner and decided to use some kindness.
