“Spent the day in Zanesville seeing the sights and stopped in for lunch. The food was very good as was the service. Kudos to our waitress Tara Clark who recommended an excellent local craft beer to go with my craw tail po' boy. My wife also enjoyed her fried cod with slaw and clam chowder; the slaw tasted homemade with a little kick to it.”

“The store itself is fine but had a bad experience with their pharmacy. I had a prescription that my usual pharmacy (CVS) didn't have and this Sams was the first place i could find that had it. I dropped off the hand-written prescription and when I went back to check after not hearing anything for days they said they were still waiting to hear back from my insurance as to if it been approved or not. I waited a while longer, still nothing and then I finally got a paper directly from my insurance saying the medication was approved. I took it in to show to them and they wouldn't even look at it, said that they had to contact them directly. So at that point I was done and I asked to have my prescription back so I could take it somewhere else and they refused to give it back, said that another pharmacy would have to call them to transfer it. Thankfully I found a Meijer that had it in stock and by the time it was transferred to them they had it ready in a matter of days. I firmly believe that they were just being lazy about it and didn't care to have my business. The first and last time I will ever use this pharmacy.”

Her name is Kayleena and she is the nicest, respectful, and most caring barista I have ever met! When I first started getting my cold brew, she would take a moment to talk to me and see how my day was going, ask me questions about my kiddos, ask me if we are excited for Christmas etc. She always stopped and talked to me. What she doesn’t know is, she always made my day. Usually I would be out taking a drive because my infant was extremely fussy and I was so stressed out and overwhelmed that it was my only moment of peace I’d get. I have 3 kids 6 and under. She was a breath of fresh air and a kind face during my worst days. I just think she should be noticed and appreciated. I’ve also seen her speak like this to all her other customers too. “For gas station food it’s outstanding. Chicken was fully cooked yet remained moist and flavorful. Potato wedges (or jojos where I’m from) were crispy outside and soft inside just like they should be. I didn’t know about the sauces so I’ll have to try some next time. Shoot, for about $5 I got 2&2 and it was good! Also I wear a continuous glucose monitor (lingo) occasionally and the glucose spike was minimal. According to their website they don’t load the food with sugars and that reflected on my CGM. I would definitely eat Charlie Biggs Chicken again.”

“Today was a very difficult day for me. My vehicle broke down early in the morning, and I spent the entire day searching for parts, making repairs, and trying to get everything sorted out. I was exhausted and worried that I might be asked to move my vehicle from the parking lot.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the staff at this coffee shop. Unfortunately, I don’t know the name of the employee I spoke with, but they treated my situation with understanding and genuine kindness. They didn’t rush me, didn’t create any additional stress, and allowed me to leave my vehicle there while I worked through my situation.

This kind of human compassion is not something you see every day. Sometimes a little understanding and kindness mean much more than people realize. Thank you for your help, support, and hospitality. I will definitely be back and will gladly recommend this place to others.
