The restaurant was packed when we arrived, and we quickly saw why: great service, delicious food and homey atmosphere. The chicken fried steak was cooked perfectly. At other places, I usually find the chicken fried steak to be over the top- but not here. The meat was cooked well and was juicy. The breading was seasoned perfectly and was crispy but not overdone. And the main thing I noticed was that it wasn’t greasy. I think this may have been the best chicken fried steak I’ve ever had in my life. And the gravy…well, that earns its own review. We asked for extra gravy - so glad we did!
the entire diner smelled of old grease. We ordered appetizers that were ok. My sister and my husband ordered chicken. It was way over cooked and they didn't eat it. The smell got so bad they opened the door. The floors going to restrooms were slick from grease. My sister had so much trouble breathing that we had to leave. After going to Boomerang several times over the years, I think this visit will be our last.

I like the '50's decor & the service is top notch! I've recommended them to friends. The fried mushrooms appetizer is hand battered goodness. But my problem is with the chicken fingers/fried fish basket. I'm not sure how you turn out the most golden perfect fried fish... then the chicken fingers appear way over cooked in "past time to change" oil. This exact thing has happened twice; once at Owasso and this time at Claremore. I'll keep going back for those golden perfection mushrooms though! ?
