This place was Speedy's first. The food went down and then way up in goodness after the change over. However, it was never bad. We made this place our weekly place for over 15 years. We have had birthdays and anniversaries there, along with other big life events. It has been a great place of loving familiarity.
About 4 weeks ago they put up a remodeling sign. There were a few amenities that did need updating. They said the work would suspend business for at least 2 weeks. We gave them 4 weeks just to be sure. Last night we went back, all excited to see the improvements. However, when we got there, the lights were off and it was still closed. In fact, it appeared that the electricity was off too. Things that are usually on, like the claw game, were off. This did not speak well for our hopes. The "closed for remodeling" sign was still on the door, but nothing inside appeared to have been remodeled. A quick check of Google maps had the place listed as "permanently closed." Nothing lasts forever.
So there you have it. If you are planning to go there, don't. If someone tells you it is back open, call first. It's with our heavy heart, that we bid a fond fairwell to the place that has has hosted so many good times in our lives.
Together Forever
PLEASE go back and become Speedys again and we will be back, Not before!! You people need to go back to speedy Gonzales roots.we eat there for the food and the friendly staff. All in your last now. The service is terrible and they seat you where it is convenient for THEM. Portions are smaller but cost more and messes up hours. Hire the Speedys cook back for sure. You people will be out of business by years end if you don’t change your ways.UPDATE!! 10/28/2023,looks like they are CLOSED. Really a bad deal, Speedys was a cornerstone Mexican Restaurant in East Tulsa and these Novices purchased it and RUINED a great place to eat by FORCING their “bad opinion” of how to improve in a near perfect place to eat.People, try Mi Padre @20th & Yale & tell the Ken Copeland sent you?

Nice place. The staff were all very welcoming. While looking through the menu my server informed that the current special was el molcajete and asked if I would like to try it. I had been wanting to try one for a while and it was everything I hoped. DELICIOUS!

I liked this restaurant when it was Speedy Gonzalez. You could walk in, order off the monitor displays, pay the cashier, go get your own drink and table. Your food would be out in 5 minutes. Now you have to be seated by a host/waiter, place a drink order, place a food order. After the meal wait for your check, wait for the waiter to come get your payment. It's not speedy anymore. Takes too long. They changed the concept only to benefit themselves.. They expect a big tip now. Not eating there anymore.

Everytime we arrive at this location to pick up our online order during the posted open hours, they're not open? Today, we ordered online, went to pick up order and there were people inside, one door said open and the other said closed. The people inside didnt bother to tell us anything. They just looked at my son like he was crazy. No one picked up the phone either. Please notify customers what's going on! We love the food but hate the inconvenience of not being open when theyre supposed to be open..

We live close and tried Speedy's a couple of times. Las Palmas is in my opinion an improvement from Speedy's. The food is better and they have margaritas!Tulsa is a competitive market for Mexican restaurants. Las Palmas is a strong "middle of the pack" and we hope to go back again.

Only 3 people in there during lunch rush. 11:30-12:00. Table had sticky spots and a couple of dirty spots. Menu said $8.00 for Taco Salad. Went to pay and they charged me 11.50. I asked why the menu said $8.00 and she was charging me $11.50 and her response was that is an old menu with old menu prices. They haven't been open 6 months. Taco salad was fine. My friend had the Tamale dinner and didn't like hers at all. She was also charged $4.00 more than the menu price!! This can't be legal. No wonder no one was there but us. Everyone already knew.

Menu changed and food not as good , portions smaller. We will not be back.
Salsa isnt that good. Leaking ceilings. And they lie about their pricing. Everything will be more than what their menu says and they will blame it in old menus. It’s paper print menus so no excuse to not just print more.Won’t be back. False advertising.

I definitely do not recommend coming to eat here. The service is good but the new owners are terrible. Very stingy people and try to make them self’s higher than they are. Food quality is not good for the high prices you pay. Old owners were definitely better.

Ordered a salad that I have gotten numerous times before with the old owners but this time it took 20 minutes to get, cost more and was gross! I'm so sorry to post a bad review but a wet salad with dirty lettuce, slow and confused service and a guy in our party did not get his food after asking 4 times in an hour.Unfortunately with all this I will not be back

This used to be Speedy Gonzales, but has been bought and re-branded as Las Palmas. It's Speedy's menu, but smaller servings, higher prices and lesser quality ingredients. (E.g., beef has gristle. This was never an issue before.) We've been going to Speedy's for 20+ years and were really hoping the new owners would add their own spin to it while still carrying the Speedy's baton. And while the new food isn't exactly bad per se, it's not what Speedy's customers have grown to love.:-(
