We have been going to Mainstreet as a group for our family birthdays for over a year now and we have always enjoyed the ambiance, food and service. Last summer we enjoyed the patio at the back looking over the waterway! We are always a party of 12 and totally look forward to our outings as a family. Over priced, food was trash especially for the price. Could have gone to a food truck for better quality at half the price. Service was ok, but I wouldn’t waste your time. Save your money and cook frozen food at home, you’ll be less disappointed.

I'm a regular here and the reason is the food quality and the friendly service. Try the smoked meat sandwich, it's excellent. And if you are served by Erin or Tori, you'll enjoy an even better experience.

This is the second time that I have ordered takeout as I have read the reviews and refuse to sit down to eat in this restaurant. Ordered a regular poutine and crispy chicken poutine the first time around and was told it would be 15 minutes. It took us 15 minutes to drive there and then spent another 40 minutes waiting at the front for the order. The crispy chicken poutine looked lovely with lots of colours and spice, while the regular poutine tasted bland and had soaked the fries to the point of inedible. Second time ordering a regular poutine this week and the gravy sat wet at the bottom of the box with a little bit of melted cheese on top, and there weren't even cheese curds included. $16 for a bag of fries in a box does not deem the dish a "poutine." I have noticed that management hasn't commented on any 1-star reviews to try and salvage the reputation of their business, nor have they been mentioned providing customer service in any reviews at all. Local or not, I recommend people head to Lakefield for good restaurants with quality meals.

Fantastic place to travel by boat and stop off. Buckhorn is beautiful and the Mainstreet Bar is the jewel in the crown.
The place is probably got spoiled by all the boats passing through the locks, and the owners do not do much to take care of the patrons.Service is slow and sloppy .I was provided salad with wrong dressing , and poutine without one of the toppings.The waiter took about 10 minutes to bring the salad dressing and was trying to tell me that the topping was added which was not true.No apologies for the mistakes were provided.Small side note - the Ceaser was very watery. I have asked to put less ice into the soda drink, this request was not fulfilled either.On the positive note - the view is very nice and poutine was great.The restaurant needs to pay more attention to the service.

Waiting for a table over three hours was a bit too much. We had kids that were hungry. When we got a table, it was a tiny little table for a group of 6. There was a bigger empty table that was vacant and we only got it after asking whether I could have that one.I could not help thinking that it was a bit racist if I may say so.The waiters let in couples before us when they could have put two tables together for us.

A gorgeous spot right on Lake Buckhorn, full of sun and positive vibes for a casual lunch and a tasty waterside drink. A vacation feeling! The hostess was great and found us a perfect table under a shady tree by the water. Our server was friendly and we had our delicious burger and salads very fast. Recommend this place! A gem.Vegetarian options: Terrific salads!Kid-friendliness: Crayons and sketching and even a talented balloon artist and a good kids menu. High chairs no problem.

Great location! Beautiful place to have dinner or lunch. I'm a little disappointed that the food and drink menu has dwindled down recently, after being really good about 2-3 years ago when I heard it switched owners. The outdoor patio is still one of the best, so it's definitely worth the stop!
