“Just recently moved to Cobourg and have been waiting for G&O to come back from their "winter closing" for a while now so I was very quick to book a table as soon as I knew they would open for spring/summer season. I was not disappointed at all! Service was quick and friendly, Mocktails were fantastic, food was delicious with generous portions and the ambiance was very cozy. Thank you, Erin (our server) and the kitchen staff for 10/10 experience. Will be coming back and telling friends about it.“
“Ate here for the first time with the family. Lovely atmosphere, attentive but not cloying service and the food was enjoyed by all. My wife especially enjoyed her veggie burger, which we were especially grateful for (as most veggie burgers here on Cobourg are not good), and the fries get a shout out as well. Also enjoyed the 70s tunes (mostly British bands.. go figure!) playing in the background.“
“Had a problem with my meal and the waitress looked after it with ease. Steak sandwich I do not recommend, I ate it but no good flavor. Atmosphere is great onion rings are great and I have had great burgers there as well. Overall it's a decent place to go in Cobourg.“
“We were headed up the 401 and needed a pitstop, a quick Google Search didn't identify any of your usual Chain Restaurants but then Schnitzel Shack appeared with 5 Star ratings. This amazing place with two lovely young ladies did not disappoint. Their cheerful and helpful demeanor confirmed we chose the right place. With their warning about the serving size disregarded? we ordered a Schnitzel Parm sandwich, a Schnitzel sandwich with frite sauce and a generous order of homemade fries. One word AMAZING! A massive tender and lightly crispy pork schnitzel had to be folded three times to fit on their fresh-baked bun. The taste is to die for! Their fresh-cut fries were a major treat. What is even more surprising was the value! So the next time you find yourself within 100 KMs of Port Hope, head to the Schnitzel Shack - they won't disappoint.“
“Came to Cobourg for the first time and went for brunch with the family. It was a Sunday and they where very busy, 45 minute wait. Pretty average for a hopping brunch spot. The service was quick and friendly, the atmosphere felt cosy. Now the food, I am someone who gets Eggs Benedict every new brunch spot I visit. These where wonderful. My first day was poached perfectly, nice and soft for the egg yolk.... Second one was hard, mistakes happen, still delicious though. The Hollandaise sauce was creamy and flavorful. Many places that I've been to don't give you enough sauce but they load you up here! The home fries were some of the best I've had in a very long time. On one hand I wish there was more but on the other hand the portion size was perfect. I was stuffed. This place was great and I look forward to going to it again.“
