“Not a cheap place and everything from the sign, interior, display, staff uniform, and packaging dictates the pricing. For these pricier bakeries, I feel as though I can be a bit more picky as opposed to your mom 'n pop, corner bakery that you go to on a regular basis for a loaf of bread, some dinner rolls. Viennoiseries were ~$5ea (crossaints, cinnamon rolls, other flaky pastries), while small cakes were $10-12ea. I saw a serves 4ppl sized chocolate cake for $55, so it's definitely NOT your neighbourhood place, but more a special occasion/date café. The Good: - beautiful sign, bright interior/display, good signage in front of each item, so you have an idea of what you're getting - all items looked like a piece of art - female staff (Luann?) was friendly as she offered me a sample of something that I asked her a question about. That was very appreciated! The Needs Improvement: - overcharged for the wrong item, I'm gonna assume it was an accident, but I did have to go back in, get a refund, repay and all that jazz - although fancy, the packaging was soo BIG! I got 2 pastries and it was put in a huge cake box (did not appear recyclable as it had those clear windows). I'd prefer something less fancy, environmentally-friendly like a paperbag! - Cinnamon Roll was a good size, crispy, but slightly dry. It was placed in the closed glass showcase, but maybe exposed for too long. It was DELICIOUS, but again, dry due to exposure, not necessarily inferior baking Between the 2 items, a pastry and a cake, I preferred the pastry. Although everything looks like art, you're gonna pay for it. Definitely check your receipt before leaving.“

“Best dessert spot I’ve ever been to. The variety is outstanding, the quality is amazing and you can tell this business takes tremendous pride in what they do. That’s really hard to come by now days. “Duo is an amazing Japanese/french inspired patisserie, cafe & chocolatier, delicious espresso, scrumptious cakes, flaky pastries, fine chocolate truffles and more. Due to time constraints, I arrived to the store late Sunday afternoon, they were out of their most popular items, including the Mont Blanc, and canelé though their selection was limited, I was able to get my hands on Almond Croissant, Polonais Croissant (double baked croissant with hazelnuts & rum), and Banane (banana compote puff pastry), I also got a pair of single serve cakes, the Claire (yuzu cremeux, honey crisp apple, yuzu ganache cubes, yuzu montée cream, almond shortbread crust), and a Rockée (milk chocolate cream, chocolate caramel mousse, caramelized pecans, hazelnut coconut dacquoise, almond sablé, milk chocolate disk), and a box of (12) chocolate truffles, I could not leave before trying their coffee, pleased to say their espresso was as good as their pastries. Store is located in Markham, ON, right off highway 7, and 404 Freeway, though space is small, typical of most bakeries, it feels airy and very pleasant. Their customer service is excellent, the store is very busy, with long lines, but everyone was welcoming, they looked happy to be there, you can feel they love what they do.“

Nothing fancy but ingredients were fresh and seasoned very well. Well portioned for the price but wish they gave more hollandaise sauce. Barely tasted the sauce. Don't get me wrong here, price is very kind! Caramelized onions on the bennies were excellent and sorta made up for the lack of sauce.Homebrew coffee was on point. “We had Charlie's 5th birthday party here and it was a hit amongst guests and doggy participants. When you book for a 2h time slot, you are able to use the space for the party and can rearrange the tables how you like them. We were able to bring outside food in for human guests and we started a tab at the cafe bar for our guests. Other customers were able to come in and get something however were not allowed to stay inside while the party was going on which was nice. I think the price was reasonable and we were given an hour to set up before the party started. There was a bit of a hiccup on opening and setting up however the owners were super nice and accommodating. At the end of the day I was super thrilled with the result however hosting a dog party with more than 10 dogs is definitely overwhelming. Highly recommend. 10 pup cups included and a bag of treats!“

“i went on 15-Jan and tenperature was -32 degrees. i walked in around 11, probably as the first customer. i was greeted by 2 people who understood that i came walking, made me comfortable and i had the best latte and banana bread in recent years. We had the chicken and waffles, carbonara pasta, french toast and the duck benny.Chicken and waffles was one of my favorite dishes. Only thing I would change is like have a boneless chicken. Eating a drunkstick was enh. But the seasoning was good and the sauces were good too.French toast was my.least fav because it had like a lot of crust and the syrup was different. Kind of a punch but I think I would've prefered the regular syrup instead.Carbonara was good.Duck benny was also good. I did like the salad that came with the dishes.“

“as a stouffville local, i frequent this place !! the dishes are always served warm and fresh, and the quality of the ingredients is always top-level. i pretty much always order their AVO benedict (as seen multiple times in my pictures), and it never disappoints as a healthy and delicious breakfast meal. my brother recently ordered the brunch box (pictured) and it is ENORMOUS. it could easily be shared between two people and for $22, it's a great deal !! all the mashed-together elements of the dish were delish, especially those crispy-on-the-outside-and-smooth-on-the-inside tater tots.“

This time, I visited with a friend and we indulged in the flaky, buttery perfection of the hazelnut banane, sufficiently garlicky garlic bread, and the espresso cookie which packed a nice bitter kick (though I think they've since retired it from their menu). Prices lean towards the steep side, and finding a seat can be difficult. Once the place fills up, the ambiance quickly shifts from cozy to bustling. Service can dawdle, especially with drinks, but the staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Their display is always pristine, and prices are transparent. I'm a repeat offender for their baked goods and decadent cakes.“

“Heard a ton of amazing things about this roaster, and finally got to visit today. It's a nice location, and the man working at the front was nice and helpful picking the best bag of beans for me. They had a bunch of different coffee making gear for purchase, and the pour over I had was fantastic. It's pricey, 10 dollars for the coffee I drank, and some of their roasts can go up to $70+ -- but it's award winning for a reason! My inner coffee geek was really happy to finally see this place. “I had an amazing experience at this bakery in Richmond Hill, offering some of the best Hong Kong-style egg tarts in Toronto. The egg tarts were served piping hot and incredibly fresh, and the generous portion size was a pleasant surprise. The pastry was wonderfully crispy, and the filling struck the perfect balance of sweetness. What made the experience even better was the friendly owner, who always goes the extra mile. “***I DO NOT RECOMMEND *** The customer service at the head office is awful. They messed up my online order and didn’t pass on the message to the store on time for a specific date cake order for my kids birthday. I ordered cakes for Oct 21 to be picked up. I went to the bakery and was told that they don’t have the cakes. I called and emailed the head office and they said they are small business and mistakes happen. That was the lamest excuse! Mistakes happen but they didn’t even try to fix the issue. Just saying “we are sorry, it happened, we are small business and mistakes happen” is not the right reply at all. If a communication didn’t happen between head office and the store, that is not customers fault. Running around, trying to find alternative solution, and buying another flavored cake was the worst experience celebrating my kids special day. I wasted my time, energy and money on finding cakes, I had to go back to the bakery on the same day at 9pm. The fact that they just wanted me to forget and let the problem go by really frustrated me. They said they tried to make it work, but I don’t think they even tried and think of customers perspective. I needed those 2 cakes on that day, and I placed the order 3 weeks in advance for a reason. I will most likely not order from them again and will pass my awful customer experience to my friends and family. Very irresponsible and unreasonable. Simply didn’t care. They ignored all my emails.“

It’s within the complex of new buildings, and it’s quite small and cozy inside.There’s about 11 seatings inside, and some more outside.I got the Charcoal Latte and Matcha Donut Latte.The drinks indeed are very expensive, especially for the small size.The two drinks came to just under $20.However, I was very impressed with the quality of drinks.The cold cream in the matcha goes very well and smoothly, it was eye-opening.The charcoal latte is also very smooth and creamy.I’d rate their drinks 12/10 of its quality.They have other vendors of jewelry, mugs, etc that you could get and eTransfer to vendor yourselves.We stayed here for a bit and were welcomed by the owners.Due to the distance away from where I reside and the price of their drinks for its proportion, I wouldn’t think it’d be a place I’d regularly visit, but once an occasion when I’m in the area.“
