This was my favourite cafe in London and one of the best I've frequented in Ontario. I live out of province now, and every trip back home, I try to make it here for lunch. So it was very sad to hear of the fire that destroyed the cafe building, and I do hope that they rebuild and reopen in the coming months / year.

Great Little Place to eat!! Food is made on the premises. I had a quichee that was excellent. Pastry light, omlette ingredients balanced perfectly and cooked to perfection. My husband had a chicken pot pie and he loved it. Again the pastry was light, filling tasty and he thoroughly enjoyed it. They have a little patio on the side of the building that you can sit to eat your food so you can get out of the sun if you wish and it is back from the street a little so you are away from the street. Staff was friendly and service was quick. We were visiting London, bike riding on the trails when we decided to stop for lunch. GREAT FIND!!

The black walnut has always been my go-to spot to enjoy a coffee and muffin or scone. Whether I’m eating in, sitting on the patio with my pup, or grabbing something to go on my way to nearby Thames park, this coffee shop is my favourite. Every day I am saddened that it has been destroyed by the fire but am hopeful that the rebuild will be just as nice and even better.

BW CAFE “Hey old friend, been too long, craving a Cruffin, but now you’re gone. A pit stop, for man ‘n beast, Fresh baked Chelsea buns go quick, more butter please; join Wortley’s wagging tongues. That Saturday night, dreams went up ‘n smoke; Fireman fought the fight, but Old South lost it’s spoke. Even now, taste your treats, “dreams shall rise again” hand up, soon back on you’re feet, community misses you, old friend.” kac

Ummm - don't come - I love this place and I'd rather keep it a secret ;). The coffee is good. All the different baking I've tried is great. The quiches, frittata and salads are all really good, as are the soups. A visit to Wortley Village isn't complete without a stop at this popular community cafe. The sidewalk tables make it convenient if you're accompanied by your dog. At times the Black Walnut can be busy but the wait is worth it.

The coffee was bitter and blunt, and so were the staff on duty. We weren't made to feel welcome or wanted, and I saw one young lady being told off for bringing her laptop in. Rude.

The ordering can be a little chaotic, the lines and wait a little longer than expected, and the food itself looks a little bit better than it tastes.

I went here for the first time today for my birthday. I had a craving for quiche. I was told there was a 30 min wait for the quiche because it was fresh out of the oven. That was okay, we were willing to wait. We also ordered Irish beef stew, ham croissant, 2 cruffins and 3 Irish cream hot chocolates to enjoy while waiting for the quiche. Everything was delicious. We loved all the food we got. And when the quiche was ready, the portions were huge and they were so tasty. We will definitely be back.

Great selection for food and baked goods. Clearly a staple in the area. A bit too packed and busy..so, if you don't live that, avoid. Still, prices are ok, and staff is friendly. Recommend for your caffeine needs.

The bakery part is where I visited, and it was a great experience. The food is mouth watering and the prices are fair. The staff are delightful and knowledgeable about the products.

It's always a delightful experience coming here. It had been a while since my last visit. I had their chat latte with soy and their butter tarts ? right on point with sugar....not overly sweet ....
