My family stayed one night at Novotel and had the breakfast buffet at the hotel’s restaurant. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. Adam , our server, went above and beyond to host us and did a fantastic job entertaining our two small kids. His professionalism, demeanour and customer service was very appreciated. I must say he was the cherry on top of our family weekend getaway. Make sure you have Adam as your server as you will leave feeling the same way we did ;)

Trio restaurant is absolutely amazing! The staff are outstanding, and the food is so delicious and of high quality.Chef Joseph went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and special dietary needs for a private event that we held in the restaurant.Special thanks to Andrea, the Food and Beverage Manager and Kimia, the Events Co-ordinator, for their exceptional service. They were so wonderful in every way. Our server, Peth, took fantastic care of us on the day of the event. The whole team was so wonderful, and I would not hesitate to book another event at Trio.Thank you Trio team!!Dietary restrictions: My daughter is celiac and the chef made her a special meal that was wrapped to avoid cross contamination.

This past month, the lives of me and my family got uprooted because we had to renovate our condo unit's flooring due to repeated water damage over the years. Now, I'm physically disabled, whereas my wife isn't, so it made good sense for me live in a hotel where the premises was physically accessible, as opposed to my mother-in-laws, which very much isn't. So, I came to live at Novotel North York for 12 nights, whereas my wife and kids went to her Mom's place. Imagine how grumpy and stressed out I was, wheeling into the hotel to check in (2 hours after check-in) only to find out that they hadn't yet done some ambiguous final safety check! I was told it would only be "5 minutes". I have to say this was mystifying to me! I asked them why this safety check wasn't done before I arrived and no matter which way I asked they refused to give me a straight answer by the concierge. After complaining to one of the managerial staff, about how it wasn't taking "5 minutes" (it in fact took 9 minutes; not long in the grand scheme of things but man was I stressed and grumpy) he asked the concierge how long I'd been waiting, and when she said "5 minutes" then he repeated that figure to me. That really angered me. I told him that it was clear that he was deciding to believe her and assume that I was exaggerating when I estimated 10 - 20 minutes of wait time. When it was clear that I wasn't getting anywhere with him I uttered the words "f#$% it" under my breath. Oh boy, then he threatened me by saying if I'm swearing then they may have to take "further steps". I told him I wasn't swearing at him, but I think he was just annoyed of me and took pleasure in threatening to boot me out. *exhales* Okay, now the good part: The bed, and the room, were comfortable enough. The bathroom was well appointed. Towel service was kind of random, but not altogether bad. Housekeeping and maintenance staff were amazing (here's looking at you, Lorenzo!!). Since they were the ones I interacted with most often, they made the experience SO MUCH BETTER than if I had to always deal with the likes of the initial folks during check-in. The Nespresso machine provided was kind of obnoxiously loud but overall I'm not complaining about all the free coffee that I could drink (yay!!). Although the TV channels provided were as basic as can be, that didn't matter too much as I just streamed what I wanted on my laptop or phone. Finally, a word on wheelchair accessibility of the room itself: It seemed to me like the room had been retrofitted to be wheelchair accessible. This isn't a problem in theory, but in practice they got a few things wrong. I'm lucky that I divide my time between using a walker for short distances, and a wheelchair for long distances. Here's what they got wrong: 1) Getting in the bathroom from the front foyer of the room seemed difficult, if not impossible. Again, I used my walker in the room, so it wasn't a problem during my stay. 2) When I was in the bathroom in a sitting position in front of the mirror, I couldn't see my face. This was a problem for things like flossing and shaving. Thankfully, my wife ended up dropping off a little stand-up counter-top mirror so I used that when I needed to. 3) Manoeuvring the wheelchair, once inside the room, was just difficult in general. It's a really tight space and they do a wheelchair user NO favours by sticking 2 queen-sized beds in there to take up so much space. That's it! Not a terrible experience, but also not an amazing one. Meh!

In short, I stayed here for one night - I thought I had booked it for four nights at a good price but it turned out I had actually booked the Novotel in York England by mistake (which I also had then tp pay a night's no show fee on). OK, I made the mistake but the staff were super unsympathetic when I asked if they could give me a more favourable price than the $350 a night they wanted to charge me. I could only afford one night and it ruined the rest of the trip. That said I did get a high room with a view for that one night and the hotel itself is nice, close to the transit and in a good area. Shame nevertheless they couldn't even offer me a complimentary breakfast despite seeing I was clearly very distressed on arrival.

I’m so happy during my stay. Room is neat and clean. Pleasant and helpful staffs. I checked out after 2 days of stay, unfortunately my car didn’t start and Mr. Sanam help me heartily. Thank you Mr. Sanam your help very much appreciated.

Comfortable and totally sufficient for a night’s stay. The room was clean and I had a great sleep even close to the elevators. Very nice housekeeping staff and a special shout-out to Sanam at the front desk who was super helpful. Underground parking is easy to access without hassle. Would stay again if in North York.

Rooms are in serious need of maintenance and more attention to cleaning Altough bedsheets and towels were clean The moquette needs cleaning, the fauteuil was dirty and the desk chair completely damaged and black stains in the shower and traces of dirt in the drawers and dust on the side table… The ventilation louvers were full of dirt ☹️ I do not recommend this place to any travelers The gym was also dirty with lots of dust on the floor…

Great location, felt very safe to travel with kids on the subway the hotel is attached via the mall to public transit, security was in the mall after hours, 30 mins to Union Station or less if your stop is closer, friendly, clean and a big shout out to Adam on the wait staff for a great morning greeting and the chef who made fresh pastries. Adam shared his cheerful disposition and brought smiles to my 3 teenages faces and they looked forward to breakfast with him every morning and it became a thing every day (we stayed for 7) that if the kids weren't down he would have me text them and get down for the 'fuel' needed to explore the city since 2 of my kids ate for free. He became a big part of our story when calling home.

These comments are based upon our 4 night stay in a superior room: Our booking reservation, nor the hotel’s website, indicated that: - No room service was provided on every other day of our stay. So on the second and fourth day we had to make our bed and do other things usually expected when staying at just about any hotel of a reasonable level. - Bottled water was not provided in the room, by courtesy or otherwise Reception, by phone, directed us to an inoperable dispensing machine 14 floors away. All really inconvenient when arriving late at night. In addition note the following: - Toilet paper is of the cheap single ply variety. A false economy as one tends to use twice as much paper. It also sends the message that cost cutting is the guiding light at the hotel. - Tap and shower water is scalding. Do not turn the faucet onto maximum and plunge your hands in. - We found the breakfast buffet to be poor. Quite basic and lacking in imagination. Best to go out to a local restaurant. The hotel's manager was given the opportunity to comment on these points before this post. After 9 days no reply was received from the manager. So assume that all the above represent the standard you can expect at this hotel.

I have been treated like a king during my two weeks staying at the hotel. A lot of respect for the members of the Canadian armed forces. The restaurant is the place to be and eat, great Team and great food. Breakfast Buffet is MUST!!
