5 star! Best in Ottawa…?. Reminds me of the good old days, years ago, when Kardish on Wellington, was King but have since closed. Everything is perfect here. Give them a try and you will not be disappointed. Prices are extremely fair as well.

Wow! I just moved to the Carling area and got sight of this place while on the bus. Good thing for traffic lights as they gave me a moment to catch a glimpse of Markie's. I went in 30 minutes before closing and I ordered the smoke meat sandwich platter to go for just under $17 all in. The meat was so tender, the bread was warm and soft, and the fries were delicious and didn't feel too oily. The pickle wedge and coleslaw where a nice contrast to the meal. It also came with a pop (I took the cherry Pepsi for kicks). They also offer cherry cheesecake and other slices of cake. I'll have to back for the cheese cake! The service was fast and extremely friendly. Very worthy of a return visit!

Great food. I was welcomed by staff into the establishment for a meal, and I chose from the menu. The prices were fair for fresh smoked meat, and I chose the classic smoked meat sandwich and a poutine. It came with a drink as well, and I chose the branded Markies bottled water. The food was great, and I was able to sit down and eat my food in a clean booth.

Had the lunch special which came to a total of 14.49$ after tax. Fries are good crispy not to salty. Many layers of meat within the sandwich. Bread a little dry. Pickle was unfortunately subpar, lacks crunch and flavour. Overall rating of 6.5/10, good food at a decent price but nothing astonishing.
