Wow! I just moved to the Carling area and got sight of this place while on the bus. Good thing for traffic lights as they gave me a moment to catch a glimpse of Markie's. I went in 30 minutes before closing and I ordered the smoke meat sandwich platter to go for just under $17 all in. Great food. I was welcomed by staff into the establishment for a meal, and I chose from the menu. The prices were fair for fresh smoked meat, and I chose the classic smoked meat sandwich and a poutine. It came with a drink as well, and I chose the branded Markies bottled water. The food was great, and I was able to sit down and eat my food in a clean booth.

5 star! Best in Ottawa…?. Reminds me of the good old days, years ago, when Kardish on Wellington, was King but have since closed. Everything is perfect here. Give them a try and you will not be disappointed. Prices are extremely fair as well.
