Service was attentive yet unobstrusive with sharing plates arriving with appropriate spacing and confirmation from the table that this was going well. As usual, food was outstanding and beautifully presented. We were hosting a dear friend as they return to Australia after 5 years of living in NYC and they were delighted with the experience. Play is a dependable player in the Ottawa dining scene. The menu is innovative and creative, the wine list interesting and the service is always terrific. Had lunch on a Saturday afternoon -- the ramp gnocchi was a standout in sheer deliciousness, but we were disappointed when the charcuterie board (for $15) contained only genoa salami, and not particularly good salami at that. We were expecting more, for sure. Apart from that, it was a good experience.

I know the restaurant states 2-3 small plates for a meal, but I was personally satisfied at 1. I didn't fully finish 2, but I know I would have to be really hunger for 3.Anyways, great service and great food. I assume the food is seasonal because there was no octopus offered when we went. I tried quail, beef, gnocchi, and short ribs.

Above average wine list, meat a little more spicy than expected. Dark interior made difficult to read menu. But great place! I returned there after 10 years and I felt significant improvement .

Elligent dining to another level. Very social, yet personable. Smooth ambiance, knowledgeable and emotionally intelligent servers. The food created fireworks inside mouth, it was truly amazing. Great view spot in the national capital celebrating various food spices internationally.
