Terrible place to go I was there yesterday at 5 pm and I ordered some chips with salsa and not chips because they run out , I order a hot dog but my order took one hour in half because the waiter forgot my hot dog in the kitchen when my food arrived , it was cold and the male waiter never apologized about his mistake. I don’t recommend this place terrible service. .

I organized a friend's birthday at the Tavern. We found the place very beautiful, with a very pleasant view of the water. It is a very distinguished place. Drink menu quite varied and rich. But not so much for food. The place is too chic to just eat hot dogs and other snacks

Like others reviewing the Tavern by the National Art Gallery in Ottawa, this isn't the one available to review on Trip Advisor. So I'll do it as a proxy. We loved this place. The laid back vibe with a couple of pints in the autumnal warmth was just the kind of relax we needed before we headed over to the art gallery for the wonderment that that place overs : )

This review is actually about our experience at the newest restaurant in this chain - The Tavern at the Gallery. It does not seem to have surfaced on Trip Advisor. We're not from Ottawa and visited to see an exhibit at the National Gallery. The gallery informed us that their cafeteria was closed and we wanted somewhere close to the gallery for lunch for four people. This new Tavern states that it has a patio and a lounge, implying that it has both indoor and outdoor space. Not so. After walking around in the rain trying to find the place and asking directions (no obvious signage), we arrived to find that it only has outdoor space and that our reservation had been cancelled via email due to rain. Because we were travelling, we hadn't checked our email. regularly. Because there was no warning on the Tavern's website saying that reservations would be cancelled due to inclement weather, it didn't occur to us to do so. Failing grade for inaccurate information, inadequate signage and very poor communications.

This is the newest location for this group of taverns in scenic locations around Ottawa. This one is outside at the National Gallery, a very convenient location on a nice day after visiting the Gallery. Too bad the food is not up to the enjoyment of the location. It is not very good which seems to be the norm for this group of restaurants. We had the vegetarian pizza and the chicken salad. Both items left a lot to be desired. Perhaps enjoying a drink after viewing the art is a better idea for visiting this place.
During a summer visit to Ottawa we were wandering the city and saw this appealing looking outdoor patio. We decided to wait for a table ( it was quite busy ) . It is situated not far from the bridge that crosses over to Quebec from Ottawa. After a short wait we scored a table and went up to place our drink order. It was all self order due to Covid restrictions. The beer was cold and prices for same were reasonable. The view from here over the river was lovely. It would be a nice place to enjoy a meal and stay longer but we did not try the food on this visit. Perhaps on another visit.

I went here twice and had great experiences. It's a place to chill and relaxing while having a couple drinks. I love the view here, cool place, and good atmosphere. Definitely recommend for visitors

Trycky to navigate the drink and food pickup stations during the pundemic, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. The drinks and food were good and the atmosphere was super relaxed, excactly what you need for a nice rest.

Visited with a girlfriend of mine, and we spent a very nice evening. We ordered some cocktails and tacos. The view and atmosphere are both really good, it is a good place to chill and for girls night out. The experience is before COVID though. Not sure if their operating hour is as normal during this special time.

Great place to hang out with friends or on a date for drinks. Good selection of beers and the sangria, especially the white, is the best I've had. Food is overpriced and average, eat before, bring your own and get the snacks only.
