THE OTHER ONE: In front of Canadian Tire in the parking lot of Festival Marketplace, known by many of the locals as "the new mall" (circa 1990; opposed to "the old mall" which is across the street and was there first. It is about to open a Target as its biggest, flagship retail store, replacing a particularly scuzzy Zellers). And here come the stars: 1. Original food truck. From childhood. In fact, from my Dad's childhood. Since 1953. Still going strong. Booyah! 2. Fresh cut. Need I say more? 3. They come in a paper bag. Old school style. A la ghetto grocery bag: 4. Crispy on the outside, soft and/or soggy on the inside. Perfection! 5. Super salty. LOVE IT! Plus either plain vinegar (for losers) or malt vinegar (for awesome people). They pride themselves as "not needing ketchup" so wait until you're out of their line of vision before you Heinz it up. 6. ****** Extra points! ******* TWO locations. 7. ******* Extra points! ******* Open SEVEN days a week. 8. ******** Extra points! ******** No air conditioning in the trucks!
