This place has amazing veggie ramen that left my taste buds singing with delight. The soul-soothing broth was a symphony of rich flavors, without relying on any meat based ingredients. Highly recommended for anyone who is devout vegetarian or simply looking to explore new culinary horizons.

My partner and I are frequents to this restaurant and we love it every time. The ramen is the closets we’ve had to traditional Japanese ramen from Japan, and it’s so reminiscent of the times we spent there eating this amazing dish. The staff always greet you and wish you farewell, the service is the best and the attitude of everyone is positive and kind.I love their Shoyu ramen personally, but we’ve tried them all. My partner loves the Fire ramen but this time he got another one (whose name I forgot) which was also delicious. We always take advantage of their stamp system and always make sure to bring our stamp card with us each time ?Thanks Ikkousha!

My husband and I have been loyal customers of Ikkousha since they opened their Tonkotsu shop years ago.If you’ve never had chicken broth in ramen, you should check this place out. They make their broths with real chicken, not just some powder. Try the Tori Paitan - the chicken flavor is amazing, and it's rich and creamy! The Tori Miso was also delicious!Don't forget to add condiments to your ramen! I love using Takana or pickled mustard. If your ramen isn't salty enough, a few drops of ramen sauce can do the trick. On your birthday, they offer complimentary delicious gyoza when you order four ramen bowls. The quantity of gyoza you receive is based on your age. So if you're as seasoned as me, you'll score plenty of gyoza ^o^

A Japanese-style ramen restaurant based on chicken broth. The staff welcomes you in Japanese.Even if you eat the standard salty food by Korean standards, it may still be a bit bland (that's why ramen sauce is on the side).I deliberately soaked the noodles the hardest. This wasn't bad, but I think one level lower would be better. The soup is based on chicken broth, so it feels like eating chicken gomtang, but it is clear and delicious! If I get the chance, I want to go again! lolOh, and what kind of premium topping is it? I recommend adding everything!

I've tried pork broth, but this was my first time trying chicken broth, and it was clean and good.I tend to eat salty foods, so the less salty ones were a bit bland.I had Tori ramen and it wasn't spicy and light so it was good to eat!The staff were also friendly!!

For those who read my most recent update review on Ikkousha, you know that I deserted my family who is sitting next door in the original (tonkotsu) Ikkousha. Despite asking for permission from my significant other and the fact that she is clearly aware that I'm next door (In a way, I'm being unfaithful to the bowls of Ikkousha tonkotsu ramen), there's a certain thrill to this. Is this what snooping behind one's back feels like (and no I don't condone cheating on your SO)? In reality, the excitement may have been derived from the potential of fulfilling my desire to try the chicken version of Ikkoushi, considering I've been lusting for it for years. (I don't head downtown much these days and I've wanted to try it out since the location opened). So it's hard to pass up on this opportunity... sorry family! The most enjoyable part of the chicken ramen was their soup. The soup was packed full of chicken flavour, and not overly salty or greasy. At the same time it was rich enough for the flavour of the soup to hang with the noodle. The soup reminds me of savoury double boiled Chinese chicken broth/soup. What about the chicken? Stylistically, I think their intention is to let the natural flavours of the chicken do the talking. The chicken in isolation was done well. The meat was soft and tender. The marination was very subtle. However, what I found weird was that after drinking the soup and then eating the chicken, a slight sour aftertaste came about. I know the aftertaste is not a result of the food turning bad or anything, but I wasn't expecting this slight aftertaste. I'm not sure if this was a 'chemical reaction' with the tonkotsu soup that was left behind in my mouth before coming over to the chicken side or not. However, I was quite certain that I drank lots of water to cleanse my palette before trying the chicken ramen. Regardless, if I can just have plain ramen with the chicken soup next time when I have a fling at Chicken Ikkousha again, I'll know that there will be a happy ending.

I was in the mood for spicy ramen and luckily saw that Ikkousha had a god spicy ramen. With spicy levels 1-4, I was a bit timid to try level 4 so I settled for level 3. It was spicy but it was bearable. Near the end, I saw they put a lot of chili flakes in it so be careful if you eat too much because I did choke a few times because of that haha. Service was good, similar to other Japanese restaurants. Ample seating, I like it how there is seating by the wall if you want to eat by yourself or sit with people adjacent to youself.

I tried this location (they only serve chicken ramen) for the first time because their other location was busy (my fave ramen spot in Toronto). I had the Tori Paitan (white soup) and it was delicious. I love the texture of Ikkousha's noodles and their broth is super tasty. There are a bunch of different ways to customize your bowl on their menu. I like to do less salt, normal noodles, always add an egg, and some ramen sauce too. Next time I'll get the God Fire ramen because it has even more flavour and I do think the spice compliments the dish perfectly (I got to try my sister's). We also had the gyoza as an appetizer and it was great - I loved the ponzu dipping sauce. This place is overall a bit pricier but worth it! They also have a loyalty card. It gets busy during peak mealtimes so be prepared for a potential wait.

There are 2 Ikkousha ramens almost right next to each other - one for pork and one for chicken. I decided to try chicken as I heard a lot of good things about it. I opted for the miso and loved the mix with the chicken broth. My partner ordered the standard version of the broth and we found the miso broth to be more flavourful while the standard one was more clean. If you're looking to try chicken ramen, this is a good place to start. Looking forward to comparing this to the pork.

Best chicken ramen I've ever had, hands down! Sometimes the restaurants on this strip of Queen West can be so-so, but this was excellent. Not a fancy ambience, but great ramen!

Really tasty ramen off queen street! This place is unique since next door is all pork based ramen, whereas this shop is only chicken based broth. Lots of options and went with the miso infused, with the addition of a soft egg. Cost ~$19.

Awesome!! Hard to find chicken-based ramen spots. Have enjoyed the best in Tokyo (Kagari), and while this place is not on the same level, it absolutely hit the spot and the whole experience felt extremely authentic. Service was perfect. I had the god fire, level 2, with hard noodles, normal saltiness, and the special toppings add-on (egg, extra chasu). Hard noodles are a great call, might do extra hard next time. I always enjoy spicy food, and this was a great bite, though in the future I might do a level 1 or just the standard tori paitan (which my wife had) to better enjoy the richness of the broth, which I felt the spiciness detracted slightly from.
