Thought I’d try this take out place since it’s nearby. Ordered a large dish and received a small portion. Quality was average. Probably won’t go back,

Martin's kitchen does it in spades. My husband and I went for dinner for the second time as the first time we went with friends and truly enjoyed the experience. So cozy with the wood burning stoves, wonderful ambiance and the staff are so kind and inviting. We had the drill this time, the flavours were incredible but when the dessert came out, it was a show stopper... I stopped Sheila in her tracks (I was aware she is the master behind the creations of desserts) and politely informed her if she wasn't married, I would marry her....it was that good!!!! Then we had a paella to take out for lunch the next day which was sooo delicious and heart warming. Congrats Martin's Kitchen, you and your staff know how to do it well. Happy Holidays!!!

The food was the highlight of the whole visit. The atmosphere is nice as far as decor goes but the noise was almost overwhelming. It was hard to hear the conversations at our table of six. Service was good, with a good balance of checking in and leaving us alone. Things were a little clunky with the table being cleared before all were finished their meal, and the whole place seemed a little crowded as we bumped into the table behind us when we moved our chairs. Summer on the deck would be perfect. I would go back.

Went in to get Butter Chicken and was told it would be an hour for white rice. Opted to get it with fried rice instead until I saw them pull out a huge bag of frozen cubes of chicken. I stopped it right there and asked for a refund. I can go to a grocery store for frozen food for much cheaper. It wasn't an easy refund but I did get one. Lady behind the counter was anything but helpful and she honestly didn't seem to even care that she was there or talking to another human being. Unless you want microwaved frozen food, stay far away.

The restaurant was chosen as an office choice...my first thought was ohhhh- that is out of town!! Only 15 minutes...and boy am I glad they chose it!! The decor was fantastic, food superb!! It was a Wednesday night and fully booked-just be aware there is a din if you have hearing issues. No one in our group was disappointed with their choices...we were all excited to see what the 2 who ordered Martin's drill would get!! I do have to honorable mention the calamari- OUTSTANDING!!! Will definitely return to try other menu items and have already made it a recommendation to friends.

Martin's Kitchen has the whole package - delicious and well presented food, ambience, spectacular decor and most importantly the staff is warm, friendly and welcoming! It is by far one of Halifax's best restaurants.

Best pasta in town!! Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a classy restaurant that isn’t downtown. Attentive and knowledgeable staff too. Will be coming back for sure :)

We went for a birthday celebration and got martins drill for my brother and his girlfriend as it was their birthday. The drill was fantastic not only tasted good but was beautifully presented. It was a busy night but our server still managed to make the night perfect for us. We were sitting out in the atrium and it was beautifully decorated, there were so many plants!

We came to Nova Scotia with our kids and my parents, they don’t travel much and have a simple life. My husband and I on the other hand are ready to jump on a plane at a suggestion. Nova Scotia is beautiful and the people are so kind. When we started search things to do and places to eat Martins Restaurant popped up. I am so glad it did, we had an incredible meal here. The day was beautiful and we were seated on the patio, food just taste better outside. Every part of our meal was delicious. We ordered the Trio Sampler as an appetizer - phenomenal, everything on the menu sounds incredible and we were all happy with our choices. I watched my son take his first bite of the seafood linguine and he gave an appreciative mmmmmm before he even started to chew it up. We all immediately started sharing bites with one another. DELICIOUS! You know we saved room for dessert, my husband and parents had the liquid dessert - Irish Coffee, I ordered the Pana-Cotta with Raspberry compote and my daughter ordered the chocolate cake. It was balanced so nicely, not too sweet but just perfect. The true highlight was taking a shot with the chef(s), plural because our waitress, we learned, made the desserts. Do not miss out on this place.

Was the worst meal I ever had! Water tasted like bog water, no bottle water, fish and chips was served in a bowl, good thing as it was so greasy it would have slid off a plate, 25 $ charge to bring in a birthday cake ! Wife had fish tacos, there was no side with this , for 19$ plus tax , should have come with a side ! Don’t let this 5 star rating fool ya, 2 star at best !!

Martins Kitchen simply put has some of the best food in the city period. Well worth the trip out. We were married on the deck here and return several times a year. The calamari is exceptional!
