Highlights:
1. All ingredients tasted fresh.
2. Great table service. They pay great attention to you. You're treated to a great salad and bread while you wait. You're given more as needed for free if you're really hungry or if service is delayed.
3. For the most part, good pricing.
4. Good selection and authentic dishes. I'd love to come back to try something else.
6. Speed of service.
Thanks you guys!“

“Staged a good-sized wine dinner in the private room (34 people). Fantastic food & service, even with a full restaurant on a busy Sunday night. Michael and his team do a wonderful job- all the dishes were beautiful, inventive, and delicious. Don't sleep on the "Olive Oil Cake" for dessert- your taste-buds and waistband will thank you.“

“Came in for lunch with a group that really needed service that went a cut above. Our server was Alberto and he was a rock star. The food came out hot and fresh and refills, from soup, salad, bread sticks and water were all attended to. We had a great experience and we will be back.“

“What a wonderful experience tonight at Don's on a special occasion! We enjoyed the tradition and story-driven menu, the attentive service, and the cozy, inviting dining room. Each dish was outstanding, but the clam linguine, Meyer lemon granita, and sesame popovers were favorites. We made plans for our next visit before we even left the restaurant. Highly recommended!“

“I was dining solo, so I sat at the bar, which worked out well for me. The ribeye, though pricey ($60), but it was one of the best that I've ever had (and the portion size was more than I expected!). Also, the marinated olives were terrific.“

“We always enjoy dining at The Fillmore Trattoria. Their Cesar salad is delicious and big enough for two people. All of their main courses are made to order and delicious. The service is excellent. The restaurant is welcoming and can get a little noisy when full. We LOVE to go there for dinner! Our server, Noah was attentive and helpful. Fernando stopped by for a nice chat!!“

“Wonderful service and food. This was a real treat for a nice dinner out! Flavors were amazing . Enjoyed sitting at the bar counter watching the team prepare the well thought out dishes. Bread, oysters, and sunchokes, and 2 pastas (rabbit and ricotta ) and (squash and onions) I forgot the Italian names . We can't wait to return ! Well done Tartuca 🐢“

“Went there last night for a date night with my fiancé. We were very pleasantly surprised with everything. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. The food was absolutely amazing, especially the prosciutto was to die for. The service from Leon made everything better and brought the whole night together. We got the Prix Fixe Menu (4 course menue), prosciuttowith fresh mazerella, and assorted oysters. An expensive night, but every cent was worth it, we walked away very far and happy. We look forward to another date night here in the future.“

“I walked up to order and saw loads of basil in front of me getting ready to be turned into something delicious. I ordered a small order of arancini balls. I was delighted that I could choose different ones on the same order. They had 4 varieties and all sounded amazing. I ordered the original mozz and the pepperoni and mozz. Then I could choose from 4 different sauces and I chose the original marinara. These were so good along with the sauce that I can’t wait to go back and try all of them but next time I’m ordering the large for sure! Additionally I ordered the Italian chopped salad and added grilled chicken and soppressata dry cured ham. It was an explosion of flavors! The grilled chicken was so good along with the ham. I can’t wait to go back and try more. Next I’m trying either the eggplant parm sub of the vegan pesto pasta, especially after witnessing the mound-o-basil. I won’t be forgetting the large aracini balls either ;)“

“Charming ambiance, phenomenal meal, and excellent service. Thank you Abigail for waiting on us. I regret it's taken us so long to find our way back here. Still as great as it was a few years ago. That's a testament to a great owner and team. We really enjoyed the bruschetta appetizer, creative mocktails, the king salmon and Dungeness crab pasta specials, and the best tiramisu in all of Portland! See you again soon!“

“So I get so tired of going to places where I have to yell to be heard across the table. Both the Grand Amari and the Little Bitter Bar allowed for actual conversation. On top of it, had great service and the food was amazing. Wine selection was great - had a delicious Barbera. Tried the gnocchi and my socks were blown off. Sole was so delicious! All 4 of us in our party will be back!“

“The server was really great. I didn’t catch his name, but he was super helpful. He told me I could mix Alfredo and pesto sauce and I wish more restaurants would offer that. Especially love their pesto - it’s super garlicky in a great way. Brought my newborn and we sat inside - he quickly took a nap.“

“Legitimately one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever experienced in the US. I have lived in Italy and my husband is Italian and we thoroughly enjoyed everything about our dinner. The wine selection is varied and thoughtfully curated. We enjoyed a bottle of Sardinian Carignano which is a rare find in the states. The prices are more than reasonable. We had a lovely locally sourced steak that melted in the mouth for $32. Bread is homemade fresh TWICE daily and the meat and cheeses were top quality If you’re looking for AUTHENTIC Italian in Portland, look no further. Nero Gallo has it all; great food, prices, staff, atmosphere and we will most definitely be back.“

“I had one of the best dishes that I have ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth. Upon the waitresses enthusiastic recommendation (she seemed really excited about it) I went with the Boscaiola with pasta instead of ravioli. Every bite I took I closed my eyes to just enjoy the explosion of flavors. Hands down best food ever. Highly recommend but don’t forget your reservation!“

“From the host Aria, bartender Josh, to our server Sandra, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We feel understood, welcomed, and supported. We went in with a group of 7, from 3 to 80 year olds. All the food items were delicious! And the environment was very pleasant, too.“

“Came in with my brother and we both got the pork belly mac and cheese with a side of garlic bread. Absolutely delicious. I loved both dishes and I also like the semi-open concept of the kitchen, it makes the food feel prepared more carefully being able to see the people making it. I also really enjoyed the laid back manner of ordering and dining mixed with the high quality food. The only recommendation for the mac and cheese from me would be to have the pork belly in smaller pieces, but that's just how I would personally liked it. Thank you for a good experience!“

“Holy 5-alarm fire! I got the Fusiili ala Vodka, which I know is supposed to have some heat, but this one —- it’s like the cap fell off the jar of chili flakes! I still loved it - the pasta was perfectly cooked, the pork shoulder was bursting with great spices, but I was still facially sweating through the whole meal. We got their Caesar salad too, which was excellent, not too much dressing and just the right amount of anchovies. The real deal, and helped cool off my lips.
Grassa has their counter service food model down pat, and the meals come out fairly quick, fresh and hot, so thumbs up there. Service is up and down, depending on how slammed they are, but I give them a pass since they do do aLOT of takeout orders and are not meant to be table service. Love that they have beer, wine and some cocktails too.
This location works well for all the reasons stated above, but we often get our food to go — the ambiance here is not that great. Strip-mall -modern-meets industrial in a cold, cavernous space does not make you want to linger. No thanks.“

“The only thing my daughter and I don't like is the bread that is served with the pasta, and is also used to make the Panini. The bread is so bad… I don't recommend the Panini.
My favorites are the Carbonara and Gnocchi.“

“Unfortunately for my wallet, this place is excellent. I’ve seen it on Ubereats multiple times and always avoid it despite exceptional reviews, because $25 for to-go lasagna? Well, tonight the cravings won and this skeptic is now a full blown believer. HOLY SMOKES, this is good food. And whatever witchcraft they are doing to keep it hot is actually insane to me. My order time was 6pm, order done for 6:25pm pickup, wasn’t delivered until 7:25pm. I already had the oven on, ready to receive some cold pasta… but to my surprise, my food was hot. They truly must have taken it right out of the oven and handed it to the poor delivery driver with oven mits on. I still popped the garlic bread in the oven to refresh it a bit (which worked perfectly - if the bread seems a bit stale, just wake it up in the oven for a minute and it’s good as new).
The lasagna itself, the “Lasagna Emiliana” to be precise, was divine. Loaded with meat, felt very light on the pasta, easily a portion for two meals (unless you’re a huge eater). The sauce is to die for (can I ask for extra? Please?).
I’m excited to try more on the menu but I have a feeling I’m going to be coming back for that lasagna. It’s just… so, so good. Wow.
I can much more easily justify $25 lasagna (+ delivery fees) now that I know it’s dinner AND lunch 😉
Wanted to note; I don’t eat a lot of Italian food in this area because it’s typically disappointing. But I wouldn’t hesitate to order from here again, nor would I hesitate to eat at Pizzeria La Sorrentina (closer to Camas, excellent very authentic food) if you’re NEEDING an in person dining Italian spot. BUT, Little Italys has a larger, more typical Italian menu, and are much heavier handed with the meat than La Sorrentina (which is important to me!). If you’re looking for neopolitan pizza though, go to Sorrentina!“

“I was looking for a place to have lunch after getting to downtown and stumbled on this place. I noticed they had pork belly mac and cheese on the menu and that was enough to get me to eat here. I ordered immediately as there was no line and sat down at a booth. Despite there being other tables, I got my food pretty fast, in about 10 minutes.
Honestly, was expecting a bigger portion for 18$ but was still delighted with the mac and cheese. It was really good mixed in with the pork belly and I enjoyed every bite of it. Also, I liked their self-serve water station. I did not have to wait for anyone to bring me water when I finished my cup, I could just go and refill it myself.“
“Sunday Sauce was good. The cheesy garlic bread was gooey and satisfying. The pesto pasta was good. The rigatoni was good.
My father-in-law got the signature dish, Sunday Sauce, and was really disappointed as it was VERY meat heavy and didn't really have any sauce. He lived in North Jersey for 30 years so was really looking forward to some hearty sauce, but was pretty disappointed. Atmosphere was cute. We waited about 35 minutes on a Wednesday night.“

“found ourselves in the st johns area and had this pizzeria on our list to visit for a while! simple pie choices on the menu, but in my humble opinion that is the mark of a good pizza place. the pizza we chose (prosciutto with green olives) had very high quality ingredients and tasted great. the crust was next level crisp and flavorful. lombardo's has a few picnic tables outside for seating, which was a lovely way to eat a lovely pizza on a lovely autumn day. service was friendly and quick. absolutely would recommend and would return.“

“Noodles are the star of the show at this place. I’m Italian, born and raised in New York and I can honestly say their spaghetti and meatballs and fusilli à la vodka pass the test💯. I’ve heard some people say the fusilli Has too much spice, but if you think thats spicy, you probably think mayonnaise and spicy🤷“

“We had a wonderful meal at decarli last night for our anniversary. The short ribs truly deserve the hype, we were blown away. The seafood pasta was amazing as well. Cocktails were well balanced with good variety. My partner loves classic cocktails and I love unique ones and they had a selection of both. He was a big fan of the walnut bitters old fashioned. We split a steak tartare appetizer and a salted caramel cheesecake for dessert. Our server was very warm and attentive despite the busy restaurant, and our food came out quickly. This was our first time at decarli and we left with a very positive first impression. Great atmosphere, romantic without feeling stuffy. I am confused by some of the reviews- who cares it’s in a strip mall? Parking was easy and it’s not like we’re in NYC, it’s Beaverton we’re talking about. 10 years ago the whole town was basically a strip mall. Overall 5 stars and we will be back.“
