I didn't try a representative sample of the food, so it could be that everything else is good. The food was very fresh/high quality. Ordered the octopus. It leaned into bitter/charred/salty flavors so heavily, which the tomato-based salsa couldn't counterbalance, that I decided to move on rather than roll the dice twice on some mussels.“

“This place is close to where I live so I have a certain friend that I go with. All the time here. And I should say the one waiter that I would recommend if you ever go theres name is Zac. He was very kind and always tentative. Plus he made sure that we didn't pay for more than what we actually ordered. The food was great and the soup was amazing.“

“I walked up to order and saw loads of basil in front of me getting ready to be turned into something delicious. I ordered a small order of arancini balls. I was delighted that I could choose different ones on the same order. They had 4 varieties and all sounded amazing. I ordered the original mozz and the pepperoni and mozz. Then I could choose from 4 different sauces and I chose the original marinara. These were so good along with the sauce that I can’t wait to go back and try all of them but next time I’m ordering the large for sure! Additionally I ordered the Italian chopped salad and added grilled chicken and soppressata dry cured ham. It was an explosion of flavors! The grilled chicken was so good along with the ham. I can’t wait to go back and try more. Next I’m trying either the eggplant parm sub of the vegan pesto pasta, especially after witnessing the mound-o-basil. I won’t be forgetting the large aracini balls either ;)“

“Spectacular pizza! The crust was perfectly toasted and crunched on every bite. The marinara sauce was loaded with flavor. The toppings and cheese were fresh and strategically placed evenly throughout the entire pie. It was one of my top three pizzas I’ve ever tried! I highly recommend this place if you love REAL pizza. They also don’t sell ranch, I’m happy they don’t because it would be taking away from the experience. Thank you gentlemen for the incredible pie and I’m looking forward to returning soon.“

“My daughter and I went to Adelleda for brunch on Sunday and it was fabulous. Each item on the menu was so enticing we had a hard time choosing. The Honus Wagner, chicken and waffle style fried oyster mushrooms over waffles with truffle syrup, was incredible. Ultra crispy mushrooms paired so well with the syrup and waffles. The Bobby Bonilla beet pastrami sandwich was a many layered flavor bomb. Such a great play of textures and spices. And Mr. 350 was the best version of chilaquiles I have ever had. Better than any in Tucson. We got to sample brioche straight from the oven and are still dreaming about it. Slathered in house made vegan butter and, no shame, dunked in that truffle syrup. There Will Be Blood was a mighty fine Bloody Mary but the Pina Caliente blew my cocktail loving mind. Smokey from the mezcal, spicy and smooth as pineapple silk. Huge kudos to the mixologist!!! The atmosphere was lovely and chill and the service made us feel special. A real gem!!!!“

“Legitimately one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever experienced in the US. I have lived in Italy and my husband is Italian and we thoroughly enjoyed everything about our dinner. The wine selection is varied and thoughtfully curated. We enjoyed a bottle of Sardinian Carignano which is a rare find in the states. The prices are more than reasonable. We had a lovely locally sourced steak that melted in the mouth for $32. Bread is homemade fresh TWICE daily and the meat and cheeses were top quality If you’re looking for AUTHENTIC Italian in Portland, look no further. Nero Gallo has it all; great food, prices, staff, atmosphere and we will most definitely be back.“

No cut corners, fresh, great ingredients, balanced, generous portions, just no notes for the sandwich game. Only grievance is maybe accessibility - hours tough for most who work for a living. “I had never been to a Grassa location until last night. I went to the one on 23rd and it was amazing. The food was excellent, perfect texture and the atmosphere was nice and busy but not too loud. Our server Alissa even brought out freshly crushed pepper with our order!! Real italian touch. Lauren was working the front order desk and was very kind.“

“Just the right size for a cute pasta place in the city. It was busy but we did not have to wait, there seemed to always be just enough room for everyone. The pasta dishes were a good size (big enough to share with one other person if you aren’t famished). I got the pesto spaghetti and it was divine. The extra crunch of nuts was a fun texture. I LOVED the hibiscus margarita, it was not too sweet at all! The bartender was so sweet and had a great energy! My partner got the limoncello after dinner and it was actually the best limoncello we have had while out at a restaurant. Would definitely recommend to go with friends or for a chill date night!“

“Richie was our server and he took great care of us. From the moment we were seated he overheard us talking about it being a little warm and said he agreed and asked if we'd like some air conditioning to help improve the temperature. Then he quickly got our order and brought out the salad and bread sticks. We had the never ending pasta bowls, and he recommended ordering a side of alfredo sauce for our bread sticks. Amazing recommendation, we loved it so much we had to order more bread sticks because it was so good. Then, a huge birthday group showed up of about 10-12 people and despite him helping them, he kept rushing over to us to make sure we were still good. Kept our refills coming, our cups full, and gave us a good reason to come back. Perfect service.“
