“If you miss the tonkotsu shio at Santouka and are waiting for them to come to Oregon, don't wait. Go here. If you miss the tonkotsu from the Ichiran chain in Japan, go here. This place gets it. Long simmered broth. Perfectly firm noodle texture & length. Also, just really sincere atmosphere and staff. 100% will return.“
“Best sushi in Portland hands down. Fish quality and selection is always 10/10. Chefs are the real deal and are so fun to watch (highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar).Dietary restrictions: They always ask you as soon as you walk in whether you have any restrictions.“
“We were visiting Portland and this was walking distance from our hotel. I'm so glad we stumbled upon it! The ambiance and decor is incredible. My daughter loved the fish tank and jellyfish wall, of course. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. I was a bit nervous because it seemed like an "adult" place, but they had a kids menu and were completely welcoming. The food was amazing. I'll dream about the brisket empanadas forever. Spicy chicken bites were another winner. Bring friends and come hungry!“
“Was in town for a few days and came in for lunch. First time at this spot though I've been to Han Oak before. Lunch was really excellent. I went with the Ban Chan side dishes, a dol sot bowl of rice, and split the Korean fried chicken with one wing of each flavor (essence of ramen and sweet and spicy) The ban chan was quite good, especially the marinated spinach. The wings were also excellent. Beautiful crunch and flavor. One order plus the sides was enough for lunch (for me, at least). My only disappointment was the dol sot rice. It wasn't actually dol sot. There was no fried crunch on the bottom, probably because it wasn't actually cooked in this pot. Just served that way. Felt a little unnecessary. Just a side of rice will do. Service was excellent. Sat at the bar and my bartender was kind and sweet. Was lovely to be back in PDX. Will come back for lunch next time I return.“
“Me and my five friends went for the first time to get drinks and some food to share. We made a reservation and came right at opening (4:15 ish), we all got a fun shot I had the peach tea one that was super yummy, we also tried their Jell-O shots and pudding shots. I got the "bounce bounce" mixed drink that was super good and refreshing. We got a wide variety of apps all pleasantly surprised me, my favs were the potato wedges and the carrots with hummus. Overall Daniel took great care of us and I'd return & recommend!“
“The BEST Mediterranean restaurant in PDX! I’ve searched for authentic taste like this high and low, but only at Zula I was able to enjoy fresh and delicious meal. Will be coming back for more with my family . Their humus is on another level.“
“Had to flag a waiter down multiple times to order drinks then food then another drink and finally bill. Each time I had to wave my hand and call out loudly Excuse me, as waiters walked by avoiding eye contact with at least our corner of the bar. Food was good.“
“Everything it has a cozy feeling. I love the decor. Also our waiter was very nice and friendly. I don’t live in Portland, but when I visit again I will definitely come back. My dinner was delicious. My daughter who lives in Portland suggested this restaurant.“
“Quaint spot in NW portland. The atmosphere was intimate and mellow, but with a great playlist to make it both perfect for a date, or a chill Sunday night with friends. The cute bartender makes phenomenal craft cocktails and was really funny and personable. And to add the fun experience, we found a Photo Booth! All around, great service, great vibes , I will definitely be back again. The ONLY thing I would say is, I just wish they carried Hendricks gin. But the vibe was so great, I was happy to go with the bartenders suggestion. Go to Below by Botanist, you won’t be disappointed!“
“Really funky and cool spot. A place to " be"yeah... kinda-but yet feel welcome! If you haven't been there -"Go!"-And if you have been there, then you know why you want to go back!Fun,cool, friendly... worth the trip!“
“This place had the best Combo Vermicelli Bowl, the combination is great, the favor is good, and all ingredients are fresh. My wife preferred the Pho to be a bit hotter (steamier). The place is a bit trendy look compared to traditional Viet places. Definitely will go back when I visit Portland next time“
“Super impressed, everything was great! Did the family style bird and a bunch of veggie sides and every bite was flavorful and cooked perfect. Everything came out super fast and was nice and hot! Classic margarita was good too. Service is order at the counter and bus your own table.“
“Super cute spot in Westlake off the beaten path. The wine is wonderful and the owner is so nice and accommodating. My husband and I dipped really quick while our son was at basketball practice, and she was doing a wine tasting event, and even though her event was full and we didn't have reservations, she encouraged us to say, and I'm so glad she did. We learned a LOT about wine that night, and we got to take home some delicious new wine.“
“I really liked this place. I really like it. However some of the spices are a little acquired and not always what you'll get when you're looking for Thai food, but in the end, I think that's OK and that that is also cool and what makes them unique. The ambience is nice, my friend really liked the touch of the hanging wisteria. Extra points because the space was open late. It was open past 11, so I was able to get there and dine late after an event. The service was good from both persons there. Solid 4.7 in my opinion. Which I think is quite good.“
“Delicious food with excellent service! I had the Beef Patacon. Will certainly return to try the other choices on the menu. Don’t expect “fast food”. It’s all made fresh with quality ingredients and that takes maybe more time then might expect.“
“The interior of this restaurant is super cute but very small. Not ideal for large groups but we made it work for my friends birthday. We admired the Himalayan sea salt covered pillar all night. I ordered the passion fruit margarita, it tasted mainly like a tangy juice. I wouldn't order it again, but nice to try something new. For food we ordered calamari, it was battered to have a great crunch and the lemon juice made it extra yummy. The service was great and fast, we came in a very large group so they handled everyone in a timely manner.“
“I stayed at Aloft with a group of colleagues for business. I have health issues and Angela Jay and the rest of the staff took care of my every need ! I would definitely come back with my family for another stay. Room service was daily and the restaurant didn’t close until very late. Great place to unwind after a hectic day!“
“First time in Portland and the Hyatt House was an excellent choice of hotel for me.The location by the River was relaxing, as well as, the well maintained pool. Very friendly and helpful staff, this hotel has it all, a nice hot breakfast, a Bar, a pool and is in a great location. Would stay again!“
“Super nice staff and good drinks. They had a low-key, relaxed vibe that suited the setting. The bartender our night was a little bit too aggressive soliciting tips. When the couple beside us left, he loudly complained to the other bar patrons that they had only left a 20% tip, and that a 25-30% tip was more common in Portland.“
“I can't assess what is authentic Thai and what isn't.But this felt much more authentic than cookie-cutter Thai restaurants. The food was good! Not mind blowing, not my favorite Thai in Portland. Definitely worth trying if you like Thai food, and are used to the standard Thai restaurants with 90% same menus across the nation.Separate from the food- our waiter was fun, interactive, but at times ... too open? with his interactions with us.“
“We found this place on google maps and had no idea what to expect when it said “TexMex”The food was very high quality. Rich bold flavors, perfect sized proportions, and excellent service. The food was typical American fine dining in a casual atmosphere, very Portland. I couldn’t figure out what made it TexMex other than the Texas flag on the wall, then I realized most dishes had jalapeños, cilantro, lime, or chimichurri. The flavors were bold, but never overpowering. There was spice, but nothing was hot or particularly spicy.I am hesitant to try new places and we got very lucky. We will definitely eat here again.“
“COVID puts a crimp on fairly assesing any venue. Given that, this place is stellar! No sit down dining, no bar service - no matter! I admit I was skeptical seeing the meticulously bottled cocktails to go but WOW. I've enjoyed many a good Manhattans all over the Portland area and beyond, but this one - their Brooklyn Manhattan stands far above the rest. They're doing so much more than the conventional 2 parts whiskey to I one part sweet vermouth with the bitters. They're doing up some alchemy here and it works! We weren't out tonight for some fancy dining - just a night to enjoy a simple drink outside and maybe a bite or two to follow. We opted for the sausage pizza. We thought the cocktails were devine? Ha - the pizza we shared exceeded our expectations! What set it off for us was the flavorful placement of fresh ricotta cheese throughout. Not so much as to overpower, and not at all skimpy. Perfection. Just like their drinks. What I love about this place is their attention to the harmony of the flavors. So naturally, we had to go to the dessert menu to fully round the experience. Like the Manhattan, anybody can place a cannoli on a menu and call it good. But like everything else we tried, they turned the dial up to eleven. The cannoli is appropriately crunchy on the outside, and amazingly rich with the ricotta filling seasoned with, I'm guessing cardamom and orange? Whatever they prepare here - it rises far beyond Stumptown standard of cream cheese. We're enthusiastic to share our experience and eagerly look forward to trying all the rest of the dishes!“
“Joanna was a great hostess and the food was excellent! ~ 35 minute wait for 6 at prime time on a Saturday didn’t feel bad. Convenient parking… good selection of gluten free options too.Dietary restrictions: Good variety of GF and Vegan optionsParking: Convenient parking garage across the street.Kid-friendliness: Kids welcome!“
“First time walking through rather than past the door of R&R tonight, and what an absolute treat! Small, but well formed bar with a great drinks menu, and super friendly staff. Will check out the food next time (there will most definitely be a next time). The resident(?)/guest(?) DJ was on fire, and we could have so easily spent the rest of our evening enjoying the whole R&R vibe, had we not had dinner plans. A real NW treasure, and the new #1 in our local bar hit list.“
“We visited Can Font on New Year’s Eve. The restaurant is beautiful inside. The food was authentic Spanish food and offered many options. Everything we ordered was delicious: Paella negra, Patatas bravas, Beet salad, Grilled octopus and delicious desserts such as cheesecake, arroz con leche and chocolate cake. My only suggestion is that they widen their beer selection to include Spanish brands like Estrella de Galicia, Mahou, Ambar (to name a few). Lastly, the service was not as good, maybe because it was a busy night, but I feel they should have foreseen this and planned accordingly. Will definitely return.“
“I ordered take out from this restaurant on the recommendations of several coworkers and it was excellent! I ordered a bacon cheese burger which was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. The fries were delicious too. Good food, friendly service. I did not take a picture, sorry!“
“Incredible night! We chose the private dining room here to host our parents’ 50th wedding anniversary on a Saturday night.Everything from the start of planning was smooth and straightforward. The set up, service and food were all spot on. It was our first time having an event here and I’m excited to have a new venue to throw parties in.“
“This is our go to place anytime we want a great meal. The food is delicious. We’ve tried much of the menu and it is all delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. The staff is friendly and prompt.Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free and dairy free options that are labeled. We really appreciate it.“
“We love this place because they have excellent ramen and fun Japanese style seating areas, but the service is always so slow. We've been here at least a dozen times over the past two years for either early dinner (4:30 or 5p), or regular time dinner (6 or 7p), and every single time the wait staff service is ridiculously slow at all the interactions: coming to our table to greet us, bringing water, coming to take our order, checking on us during the meal (never), clearing plates, bringing the bill.We would probably spend a lot more money here if the wait person would check on us during our meal or even ask if we wanted dessert. If you have lots of time, I highly recommend this place for their ramen.“
“I love this place. I kept telling myself for years to go there every time I was at Uwajimaya, and never got around to it. Now I'm kicking myself for having not gone sooner. The service is awesome, the ramen is delicious and I can get in and out on time for my hour long lunch and have time to spare.Parking: Shares the parking lot with Uwajimaya.Kid-friendliness: They have booster seats and high chairs!Wheelchair accessibility: Has a ramp outside and they have tall and shorter tables for a variety of seating.“
