There is a lot to be said for management investing in staff with experience, and you can see, taste and feel that at Castor these days. Besides these special occasions meals, I’ll just pop in for a casual lunch, or a happy hour drink and snack at the bar and enjoy the same level of hospitality. It’s one of those “third spaces” we all need in our lives. Get out and spend time with your people and don’t worry about cleaning up your house. And oh my that cornbread tres leches cake was divine!”

The menu is compact but there is something for everyone. We didn't try the desserts but they looked really good based on the menu descriptions. I have only one negative comment; It was very noisy inside. I'm not sure if that was due to acoustics of the room or unduly noisy patrons but it was difficult for our party to have a conversation.”

“Last night was our first experience and it was just me and my 6 year old son. We didn’t have a reservation and wanted to do the teppanyaki, so I told him before we went in that we might have to wait a little bit dependent on how busy it was and if they needed to fill the rest of our table (the teppanyaki tables seat 8, so I figured they would wait until more people came). They sat us right away and we received service right away. They are quick to check on how everything is and clear your dishes from all the pre-dinner foods. To our surprise, Chef Charlie came out and did our teppanyaki dinner for just the two of us. He was funny, patient (when my son accidentally threw one of the props further than expected), and made sure we would like all the flavors he was using while cooking. We had an absolute blast. My son told me it was the best night of his life. Even a server who was not serving our table came over to ask my son how he liked the show. Very sweet establishment, great service, yummy food and awesome people. We will definitely be back.”

“Lovely selection, my only gripe is that they consistently omit toasting my bagels. They’ll be warm from the oven so the workers assume, even if you specifically ask for it to be toasted, that toasting isn’t necessary. But I think it’s important to note that warm and soft from baking is not the same as crisp and crunchy from the toaster! Make sure if you want your bagel toasted that you watch them actually put it through the toaster🙈”

He gave great feedback and options for the vegan burger for my brother, walked us through the menu, helped us find the best options for our group, etc. he was friendly, checked on every table, and helped ensure the kitchen was in good shape too. “Excellent food. Second time eating here in the last week. You can tell everything is made from scratch. One of the best restaurants I have been to in Corvallis for years. And I love to cook and love food so that’s saying a lot . Will be a repeat customer. And be recommending to everyone I know. Owners and staff are very friendly. The forager burger is one of the best burgers I've ever had.
The meat is clearly high-quality and had an awesome flavor.
This places takes great care in the quality of their food.
Service is awesome. Lots of outdoor seating and a big open space with ample seating inside as well.
Tap list is heavy if hoppy stuff, as to be anticipated, but you can I find at least one of most styles on the menu.
An excellent menu of spirits that can please any taste too.
Food was fresh prepared with quality ingredients. Drinks were hand made with fresh fruit.
I've tried the beer before and it's above average. Staff were friendly. Prices were fair. Family friendly. On street parking..

“Frosty Fox Gainesville: My husband and I recently tried this place and the puffles are absolutely amazing. It’s our new favorite dessert. We drove all the way back to town from Archer to get it again tonight. Strawberry puffle with extra strawberries, mini stroop waffles and vanilla gelato. 20/10 would recommend. Also, as someone who is lactose sensitive, gelato is way easier on my stomach than ice cream!”

The owner and server were super friendly and warm, the food was excellent- especially for the price- and the service was thoughtful and efficient. We had the Mezzanine Plate, Chicken Shwarma, Lamb Shwarma, Secret Sandwich, and four smoothies. Sat outside in the fresh air, shared food, and had a great time. Highly recommend.”

“Everything was great, service, food etc... until today when I get notification of Elmer's charging my account multiple times for the same meal. (paid with debit) The food was good but not hundreds of dollars good. not a happy customer. Update: Went in when they opened, told there was nobody that could do anything except maybe the manager when he is in, no answer as to when he would be in, just call and check if he is there then drop what I am doing to go there. For the record this is the 3rd time this exact thing has happened to me at the Corvallis location, makes me wonder how many people don't catch double charges from them........... Update: The manager finally talked with me and said he would refund the extra charges. How ever I get a new notice of duplicate charges. He did refund me one of the charges AFTER he charged my account AGAIN.”

“I have been getting dried chilis and spices from Pilos for a while as they have a great variety and the best prices. When my birthday came around my wife asked me what kind of dessert I wanted. I love Tres Leches cake and I suggested calling Pilos. I’m so glad she did as it was delicious! Not only were they able to make it with a days notice but they also did a great job decorating it. They are always so kind and helpful. Just be sure to bring cash!”

Really wisb they had just put that on the side like a garnish. . The beets,cheese and candied pecans were if course delicous but i wouldn't buy the salad again unless they decide to use baby spinach or arugula or some sort of small leaf mix rather than those giant scraggly leafs . Will return for a latte and the baked goods look next level.”

“Love it. We took a break from take n bake for a while, but we've been going here weekly. Order on the website and you can pick up from the rack by the door. Usually our order is ready before the time given online.We recently tried the cheesy bread, and it's a winner. Could easily add to every order.As far as the pizzas go, we've been happy with the cheese or pepperoni, especially because they often have deals running. These are good to stick in the freezer and cook from frozen as well. Just need to add more cooking time. I sometimes pull them out and let them rest for a few minutes and then stick them back on a pizza stone in the oven to crisp up the bottom some more. If you don't rest them, the cheese can burn.All around, good pizza and good value, especially as there are not many pizza options in SW Corvallis/Philomath.The Dairy free create your own is also a really nice choice for our youngster who is intolerant to dairy/lactose.”

“I work in an office and we had an order for several Yumm bowls. We tried to run our order through GrubHub and due to an error, the order was set for pick up not delivery. After waiting a very long time I called Cafe Yumm! directly and spoke to either the manager or owner. He said GrubHub was a 3rd party service and there wasn't much they could do to change the order on their end, but that he'd be happy to run our order out to us!! He was here within 20 minutes, food in hand. We were all BLOWN AWAY by this excellent customer service, especially considering the error wasn't the fault of Cafe Yumm! The food was great as always and we will definitely order again, albeit with a different delivery service.”

And made many accomodations for us to ensure we had a special day! and it was so much more than special. we were meant to have a few hiccups that led us to Clodfelters because it was better than we imagined! “Until today, I hadn't had subway in many years. Today, I ordered a sandwich, and it was very good. The meat didn't taste like it had 2 cups of salt in it (that's a huge plus). The person making my sandwich was nice, but alternated between touching my food and the cash register. I understand time is often in play in all decisions, but basic health and hygiene require a person to finish handling my food before touching the register. I was just shocked to see him touch my food, handle the register, and then handle my food to finish making my sandwich. That is just gross!!! I still gave 5 stars but if I go back, and this happens again, I will change this to a1 star and will never come back. I'm so grossed out over the filthy handling of my food that it will be a long time before I go back. You get the 5 stars because the person was pleasant and the product was decent enough. Train your employees on basic hygiene and food handling though.”

I went to the closer Starbucks to get order due to the other Starbucks posing a rotten disposition when I explained that it had dumped everywhere. They weren’t willing to offer assistance at first. The two ladies who helped me this morning were quick, thorough, professional and empathetic about the circumstances I was experiencing! The 3rd St Starbucks is not good or needs to get better help who addresses situations in an appropriate manner and doesn’t act out or appear irritable with the customer.”

“Family recommended this to us when we were in town for a basketball tournament. Really close to Corvallis High where we played. The pizza was really good, well made. The sauce was good lots of toppings and the crust was nice and crisp. Didn’t love having to pay for soft drink refills, having worked in the food industry I know how much money they make off soda. I always find that to be an obnoxious money grab. On the flip side we asked for several sides of ranch and could easily have gotten away with half of what we asked for because the sides were generously portioned. Staff was attentive, friendly, and professional. If you’re looking for pizza in Corvallis I can’t recommend this spot enough! Good price and really good pizza.”

“Plenty of fun specials on top of a solid pub-grub menu. Beer and cocktails aplenty. One of the few spots that RC cola is available from a fountain! We love the indoor atmosphere, old-timey post and timbers with a fireplace! Cozy! Truffle fries with black garlic Aioli is our family favorite.”

“In the past few months this location has consistently had all varieties of bread in-stock when I ordered and the quality of the bread has gone up measurably.

This location is consistently out of whole-grain wheat bread. I used to eat here daily but within the last month or two they have been out of the only bread I eat around 50% of the time making this a coin flip for a wasted trip. Also the quality of the bread is poor compared to other locations.”

“8/4/2021 Best Chinese food in the valley hands down! We pickup a take-out order 3-4 times per month, sometimes more. HOWEVER, they seem to be slipping a little bit lately. The sweet n sour chicken was rock hard, literally crunchy. My Wife was shocked as it’s always good. Everyplace has an off day, hopefully this was a one time thing. Warning! Apparently they only add soy sauce in the “to-go” bags if you specifically ask for it. Bizarre! Who doesn’t use soy sauce on Chinese food. We love Queens Chopsticks. By far the best we’ve found in Corvallis/Philomath. Highly recommend. A little spendy, but worth every penny…most of time.”

I really enjoyed the speediness of the food as well, and thought the quality of the food was some of the best I have had in Corvallis.”

“Had not been to an Applebee's in quite awhile but the one in Corvallis is surprisingly good. Their Happy Hour is great. Good options for drinks and appetizers 1/2 price, which is a great deal.
