“It was a grey and nearly raining day. The four of us, in need of comfort and sustenance, made our way across the tundra of Eugene to THE FRIENDLY GARDEN. There, the quiet of the typical Eugene damp, seemed to recede into a mythical past. The possibility of warmth and comfort from the hipster type food pod beckoned - called to us, like a Sireen out of oh, brother where art thou. Indeed there is nothing hip about this place. Good food and good people entranced my cynical eye. We settled down for a slice each of Bartolotti's Pizza. Happy there is we chose this food of the gods experience. A very nearly Jersey slice. Happiness in my heart enjoyed the very much Eugene of this pizza. The fellow serving us is grand in the greatest sense of the word. My many thanks. I will be back. More, did I speak? More, indeed.“
“I was next door getting glasses and wanted a cup of coffee when I finished so I stopped in. Ordered a large black coffee and all I can say is this is one of the best cups of coffee I've had, ever. It is a rich, strong coffee and not overly acidic. I didn't really pay attention but just looked at their website and saw there are lots of options, including food. The also have Turkish coffee. I'll be heading back soon!“
“One of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. I did the swiss and mushroom burger with added avocado and sweet potato fries with their house made ranch, everything about the meal was excellent!Vegetarian options: All the burgers are available with either house made veggie burger (excellent) or tempeh (haven't tried it). Plus there are several other veggie options on the menu.“
“Love the options that beer garden provides. Also love that you can sort of enjoy the outdoors without being outdoors during the yucky weather. The fully covered back area with all the food carts is great. The bar offers some decent options of cocktails and a wide array of beers and ciders.Parking: Parking is fine after 6 PM but anytime before that you’re fighting with street parking and the minimal amount of parking spots they have available as all the other parking spots are for Grays garden“
