“Nice little place to grab breakfast, lunch or dinner after playing in the snow. Really fast service, we were there the only people on Wednesday at 3pm. The food was delicious, and fries portions are gigantic!”

“"The Rat" holds a special place in many of our hearts and memories. To be considered a "local" at The Rat back in the day meant an everything. It was the gathering place before we had technology. We threw horseshoes outside, played in pool tournaments, listened to Fingers and Chilly sing about Rainier beer while we hoisted our cans and sang along. We also got a "local" drink every day...I followed Dog's lead on that one and went with a Wild Turkey and a Hog's Back beer back. Local gogs were always let in to lay by the fire and there was always a water and food bowl. We knew the dogs by name and they knew us. It was fun, it was gritty, and I doubt it's even close to the same. If there was a time in my life to put on spin cycle, it would be those times spent in Govy with all those incredible and beautiful people. I have nothing but love for The Rat. I don't even want to go back because I'm afraid what I'd find. Sure, everything changes, but I'll keep my memories of what it was back then. Much love to all of you!”

I hated waiting in line and constantly paying for another drink or waiting in line for appetizer and then going back for drinks and then again for food. THANKS SO MUCH FOR BRINGING BACK TABLE SERVICE. Wish they would allow us to order from both menus. No fries at the bar... kinda weird. Have to walk next door and stand in another line to get fries. Would be cool if we could order from the other food at the restaurant next door without having to leave the bar. Especially if you do not have fries... and regular bar food at your bar. The Torta was amazing. Wish I could have had fries ;)”

“I've been wanting to get the nachos after seeing them delivered to other people's tables the number of time because they're huge. But they're not that good it's pretty deep volcano of nachos and they get pretty soggy pretty quick. The rest of the food is pretty good but not great. But you can't beat the view and the atmosphere.”

“Great establishment in Government Camp! Food is delicious. Matt (owner) is a cool guy, and the staff is great. Dog friendly on the deck. For cocktails, I suggest the Mt. Hood Mule.”

“I haven't been here in a while but I had a totally soothing nostalgic dream I was back here dominating a taco next to the fireplace while it was snowing hard outsideI'm aching to come back but I've gotta wait for next winter!! Ugh. Oh well. If you're taking a gander at this tucked away taco relaxing cabin I'd urge you to go. It's a dream LITERALLY ??.

“I have never been to mount hood before, and was trying to salvage a trip we had planned before Covid shutdowns complicated our adventure. The representative I spoke with via Skibowl's chat help line on 12/1/20 not only answered my questions promptly but went above and beyond to give me recommendations for our stay that helped us plan some fun while also operating within the governor's covid safety guidelines. It was very appreciated and I will definitely remember how helpful they were when planning future trips.”

“Perfectly placed, tasty bites and super satisfying brews. Not a lot of seating inside but who wants to do that? Judah is an absolute heartthrob and the view makes you forget you're even waiting in line.

Parking: Yes, tons of space to park your gear and your rear.”

“Best nachos on the mountain, so huge! They have affordable prices and the view off the deck is great watching people on the rope tow park. The day time lady bartender is super friendly and efficient. Only problem is some of the food runners are shy and instead of yelling out numbers they run through the busy crowd with food looking rushed. It's a loud bar, don't be afraid to speak up.”

“I was nicely surprised by how nice and cozy this bar/restaurant was. Just went in for a night cap after night boarding. Really laid back. It also had good views of the bottom of the slopes. The drinks were delicious.”
