5 Best Craft Breweries in Hood River

pFriem Family Brewers Brewery • $$
707 Portway Ave #101, Hood River

“You usually don’t go into a brewery in an emotional crying state. We were on vacation Saturday and shortly before entering Pfriem I got some hard news to take in about my family. It was a lot to process and I decided I just needed to push on with the evening and try to process it later. Zach picked up on my emotions immediately, hard not to, but he treated my husband and I with so much empathy, and love honestly. He assisted us that evening, and really treated us with compassion. It was so touching to be cared for in the situation I was in and the place I was. Obviously incredible beer, but Zach is who I would hope would be our server in good times and bad. Thank you for your support during this difficult time. ❤️“

“Full Sail is my favorite brew pub in Hood River. They have fantastic beer and fantastic food. My favorite beer is the Cervesa, a Mexican lager served with a lime. This place also has my favorite version of fried pickles, served with a chipotle mayo. We also ate the Salmon Fish and Chips, where the fish was cooked perfectly. The restaurant can get really busy, especially on the weekends. I recommend getting on the Yelp waitlist. Or you can go inside to get on the waitlist and depending on the wait, spend some time exploring downtown Hood River. Can’t wait to come back!Parking: There is a paid parking lot across the street, but during certain times and days it’s free. There is also street parking.“

Working Hands Fermentation Brewery • $$
1021 12th St, Hood River

“I have never before seen a place that strikes such a great balance: creating a family-friendly environment full of three-year-olds while retaining its appeals to adults without their families. Love this spot both when with family or out with friends.“

Double Mountain Brewery Brewery • $$
8 4th St, Hood River

“The service, the vibe, the beer and the food were all top notch. My second time here and will definitely be back. My girlfriend got a small pizza and I got the Cubano. Definitely recommend the Cubano, one of the best I've ever had. Her pizza had gluten free crust and I didn't even know when I had a taste. The IPAs were great too. If I lived in town this just might be my spot.“

Fox Tail Cider & Distillery Brewery • $
2965 Ehrck Hill Dr, Hood River

“We arrived at the distillery right after a duck flew into our SUV. Scared us to pieces and we were ready for some drinks. We took the suggestions from the bar staff. But then we also got a pretzel. I'm not sure if it was the duck-shock, or maybe I was hungrier than I thought...but that warm pretzel with cheese and mustard was truly the best thing I've tasted in a long time. The ciders were perfect to wash it down with. Yummers. Just as we started to get pretty comfortable, a man walked in and asked to join us. Turns out it was Mr. Fox himself. If you ever see him, snag him and make him sit with you. He provided us with so much amazing history and stories of the happenings around the area. A super friendly, down-to-earth, intelligent, entertaining person. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here with Mr. Fox and loved his black lab. This is one place on my list to return to!!“
