“Newport on a Tuesday night. We drove to five restaurants before finding Zach’s Bistro. Although He was sold out of almost everything, we were able to get the most amazing dinner ever! Even my five-year-old grandson loved the food. I had the fish cakes, with artichoke and dill. Oh my goodness! It was amazing. My daughter had perfectly cooked salmon dinner. Desert was an awesome chocolate, berry and browned marshmallow. I am so happy we stumbled on this fine dining restaurant on the edge of Nye Beach area in Newport Oregon!”

“WOW! We drove out of our way to get your famous cinnamon rolls, and they were dry and stale. My wife had never tried one and I kept bragging how good they were. We bought three that day Feb. 28, 2025. Just lost a faithful customer who drives 30 minutes out of our way.”

“I got the Beach Bum, flavored with chocolate, almond, coconut, and it was soooo good. Hubs got a breve mocha with extra shots and said it was excellent 👌. My boys had the hot chocolate, I tried it and it was silky smooth with the right amount of chocolate. The coffee tastes smooth and not burnt, like some coffee shops offer (cough*Starbucks*cough). The two running the place were warm and friendly, just what I needed right in the AM. Each of their coffees also have cute handwritten little affirmations.”

Pleasant Barkeep. A short list of Rogue beerw on tap. The gem, beyond the view and the solid tavern aspects, are their distilled spirits. All the tastes are under $15, and I light be outing the man, but generous. Lots near cask strength so a little ice water tomdilut may come in handy, and let you tast all there is in the glass.
Whiskey in Amarone Cask for 9 years 4 months is a joy. Too bad we are travelling and don't have space to haul a 750 ml bottle.”

“A group of twelve of us were well treated last night at Myril’s. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience; fast friendly service by Stacey and Sam over the course of a few hours. Appetizers, dinners and drinks served to us in their cozy lounge area near the fireplace made for a fun and enjoyable evening. Our hosts and Myril’s ambience is a big part of why we’ll be back.”

“Having spent most of my life in India and then a considerable amount of time in California, my constant search for good food here has, overall, been disappointing. There are certainly some good restaurants, but most don’t even meet the baseline.

So, while I was driving through Newport, my expectations were low—but oh boy, this place was a pleasant surprise.

First, the ambiance was amazing and somewhat reminiscent of what restaurants in India actually feel like.

The service was excellent, and both Simer and Sandeep were incredibly friendly and helpful. When we asked Simer what we should try, he suggested the korma.

Now, the korma alone made writing this review worthwhile. One of the reasons I dislike most Indian restaurants here is that they rely on a generic chicken tikka masala-style sauce, which is often too sweet and lacks sophistication. Or they make it “spicy” in terms of heat, not flavor—a thin line, but a very important one.

Long story short, the korma was delicious. So were the paneer kulcha, chili naan, and kachori.

A very unexpected experience right off Highway 101—highly recommended.”

“Nothing happens when I click on the photo, it won’t let me load a photo of my black slimy translucent lettuce! The chalet is our go to restaurant for breakfast and lunch however, today I had a salad. It looked great, until I started eating it and got black, slimy, lettuce, and even the iceberg lettuce was mostly soggy. Some of the iceberg lettuce was even translucent, looking as if it had been frozen at one time. I would be humiliated to serve a disgusting salad like this one and not offering to replace the salad or remove the cost from the bill.”

“I ate here 3 times on my weekend trip to Newport. On my first experience, I had the Vegan Club sandwich and the flavor bomb this offered had me looking at vegan lunch meat in a different way. The next morning, as I headed out for a hike, I grabbed the forks over knives burrito and a vegan maple donut for the road. The donut was better than any vegan donut I've had and the burrito was the perfect treat when I made it to the summit of my hike. On the morning I left, I had to grab a coffee for the road and of course another vegan donut. Beyond the food, the vibes were exactly in my wheelhouse and the views of the ocean made it all the more beautiful! I'll definitely be back!”

“we recently broke down in front of Bonnie's Espresso while traveling along the coast, the coffee was great and the people super nice. The tow truck could only take 1 person with them and my niece and I had no ride, I was going to try to cab but David the coffee guy said he would give us a ride into town, good coffee, good people !! “This is one of my go-to fast food spots whenever I'm visiting Newport or if I'm in the Lincoln City area too. At least at this specific Arctic Circle they have the famous fry sauce fresh which is the original and still the best fry sauce not in a package like Woodburn, Oregon's Arctic Circle does and the Oregon Coast one is 10x superior to the one in the Willamette Valley/Woodburn!!!”

“My husband likes dry rub so sometimes there recipes are a little too moist for his liking. I totally disagree. The sauce tasted amazing with the veggies. The tea was ready for me to drink after changing the babies diaper in the bathroom sadly didn't have a changing station. The waitresses said the perfect thing to my baby. Before I was able to over eat this amazing food she was there to help us bag it up. Instead of rushing us out at closing she politely told me I had enough. This was so appreciated. It was a late dinner for us and we were sick. The hot soup and tea was perfect for a winters cold. The foil chicken was very fun to unwrap.”

Zoe went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our drinks.... she overheard our conversation that I had forgotten to ask for an alternate milk, even though she had already made my drink she offered to make it again for me with coconut milk for no extra charge... thank you again Zoe for your amazing customer service!! we will definitely be going back!”
