“My friend and I had lunch here on April 4th. The menu has so many interesting dishes it was hard to decided what to order. We had the small plate scallops, a dozen grilled oysters and shared the black cod salad. Everything was fantastic and prepared perfectly. I had their specialty "for a cause" cocktail Guardian Forest; I loved it. My friend had their bloody mary and said it was good. I was not bothered at all by the 20% add for service. The service was great and the food was delicious; so I would have tipped that anyways. I loved that there is fresh fish market and they also sell other products they make there, like the bloody mary mix, salad dressings, tartar sauce, salamon spread, etc. I look forward to returning again.”

“Hey, this Mark. I am a real person and this is an honest review. I first discovered Sharks years ago on a camping trip on the Oregon coast. They were on the waterfront loop in Florence then. I visited every time I was in the area.

One day I went there and they were gone. Heartbreak. I just rediscovered them up the highway in Newport. I made an hour drive to eat there now.

It’s the same owners, same great food, and same friendly service. If you’re ever in the area and love sea food, visit them. You’ll thank me later!

If I were ever on Death Row, I would ask for everything on the menu as my last meal. If you visit, tell them Mark sent you.”

“We found this quaint bar and sandwich spot that locals frequent. There was a rustic and unique atmosphere and staff were pleasant. The beer selection was vast. The sandwiches were good, though it appears that deli meats are used in the preparation. Nice crusty bread, flavor, and presentation.”

“The Chowder Bowl is a fantastic place with awesome people working there! The food was delicious and awesome! I wanted the best clam chowder on the coast and was told to go to the Chowder Bowl and they truly delivered! Thanks to everyone there and can’t wait until the next time we go!”

“My favorite coffee shop! Not only are they SO nice, but their coffee is delicious and always consistent. Their blended drinks are by far the best in town - so smooth they taste like a milkshake! Highly recommend the sleepy sailer (hot) or a blended peanut butter mocha 🤤”

“WOW! We drove out of our way to get your famous cinnamon rolls, and they were dry and stale. My wife had never tried one and I kept bragging how good they were. We bought three that day Feb. 28, 2025. Just lost a faithful customer who drives 30 minutes out of our way.”

“We went to the 101 in Lincoln earlier in the week. Loved the food, but loved finding the pinball machine even more. We were happy to find an even bigger, nicer version in Newport. The inside is much bigger. Food just as good and the machines were better. Spent a very happy hour or so with the very giving pinball machines.”

“it is ok but for the price you think they would take their time to cook the proteins. the chicken, pork and salmon in my dishes were severely overcooked and the salmon not the best quality it was a bit fishy and old yet they still priced it as if it was fresh. if you are on the Oregon coast you shouldn't skimp on the seafood.”

“Newport on a Tuesday night. We drove to five restaurants before finding Zach’s Bistro. Although He was sold out of almost everything, we were able to get the most amazing dinner ever! Even my five-year-old grandson loved the food. I had the fish cakes, with artichoke and dill. Oh my goodness! It was amazing. My daughter had perfectly cooked salmon dinner. Desert was an awesome chocolate, berry and browned marshmallow. I am so happy we stumbled on this fine dining restaurant on the edge of Nye Beach area in Newport Oregon!”

“I get the mango fruit tea with mango popping boba fairly regularly and it is my favorite drink. I have tried several of the crepes and they are delicious. The staff is always friendly I highly recommend adding Sweet Corner to your plans anytime you are in Newport.”

The cod was the BEST cod tacos we've ever eaten. We topped it off with a slice of the mango cheesecake which is to die for!!! We will be coming back to eat here whenever we're on our way in the area. “Nothing happens when I click on the photo, it won’t let me load a photo of my black slimy translucent lettuce! The chalet is our go to restaurant for breakfast and lunch however, today I had a salad. It looked great, until I started eating it and got black, slimy, lettuce, and even the iceberg lettuce was mostly soggy. Some of the iceberg lettuce was even translucent, looking as if it had been frozen at one time. I would be humiliated to serve a disgusting salad like this one and not offering to replace the salad or remove the cost from the bill.”

“We stopped by for lunch during our search for the best fish and chips on the Oregon Coast. Started with a small cup of clam chowder that was perfect. Super thick and flavorful, hot, fresh and containing nice chunks of clam. A big Yes to that one. Next we enjoyed the Coconut Prawn appetizer. The menu describes the sauce served with this item as a curry, but we did not get notes of that while enjoying it. Usually restaurants smash the prawns flat which IMHO dries them out during cooking. These were butterflied and allowed to retain natural shape then coated lightly and deep fried. Delish just like that, but NO - they add a bed of cabbage, sprinkle fresh coconut and chopped mango chutney on top! No sauce needed- they were amazing. Hubby doesn't even like coconut and he loved this dish. We could have ended there but then our rock fish and chips arrived. Beautiful medium ( nicely uniform) pieces of fish, lightly battered and cooked to crisp perfection- thoroughly enjoyed every bite of the fish. He really enjoyed the 'chips', I prefer wedge cut or square. The coleslaw was not favored by either of us, I think more traditional ( mayo and vinegar based) goes better with the dish. I would describe it as Asian inspired, but didn't go deep. All in all a strong 4.7 out of 5 and we will return when in Newport.”

“Of note, this Mo's does not do fried food and doesn't have the standard Mo's dishes. That said if you want more seafood options and a more seasonal menu, this is the place to go. Watching people unloading and cleaning fish and oysters just outside the window is definitely a plus

“Just visiting from Northern California and wanted some Chinese food for lunch. I was impressed at the amount of food served for the price. The lunch combo plate was enough food for two people at the cost of a California fast food meal (leftovers for me!).

Pork fried rice and sweet and sour pork were delicious and cooked perfectly. Egg drop soup was hot and flavorful. Crab Rangoon was crispy and tasty.

Service was fast and friendly and the restaurant is clean. I would absolutely eat here again.”

“My family and I went to the Coast to celebrate me turning 30. Before we left town- we stopped and had sweatshirts made and then went to Sea Lion Dockside bar for coffees and to peek at the Sea Lions. Two hours after leaving- I realized I left my sweatshirt on a table and was immediately upset with myself. I decided to send a message, asking if they could look to see if my sweatshirt was there. They immediately replied with a photo of my sweatshirt still in the bag. I asked if they could send it to me and I would pay for it- I was so grateful when they said yes- but the best part is the offered to cover shipping cost and even sent me some coffee!! These people are so kinda and the coffee is so good! Now I have my sweatshirt and a bag coffee to go with it- all thanks to their kind hearts and generosity ❤️❤️❤️❤️”
